Sometimes you go on good dates, other times they end up a complete disaster…
After a string of failed dates, and a promising second chance romance that failed quicker than a plane without an engine, it almost feels like it's time for Samantha to give up. Almost.
Armed with a best friend who never gives up on her, Samantha is thrust back into dating, after some not so subtle encouragement, to land on the adorable boy next door, come lumberjack, Shaun. Not only has he got hair so shiny that it looks like it should be in an anti-dandruff shampoo AD, but he has dimples to die for!
Surely it is time for Samantha's luck to change and for one of the dates to finally go right. Is Shaun the man for her? Or have the dating gods got more chaos in store for her?

We’re back with Samantha & her dating life! And, once again, she has best friend Lou to help her choose man no. 4!
After needing a little time to get over guy no. 3, she’s back on it & with the rather attractive, 𝐌𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, who also happens to have… dimples!
I love this series!! Laura & Tiffany just hit the spot on the trials & tribulations of dating. Things seem to go fabulously well, he tucks so many boxes but (there’s always a BUT it seems) there’s a little glitch. It then proceeds to develop into a heartfelt chat infused by red wine, with a side of drunk pool & new friends.
Samantha is the kind of girl everyone deserves as a bestie!! I just love her!!
Another fun & recommended read from my favourite duo!! Check it out!!
By book four, I’ve become completely invested in Sammy’s dating journey.
After several disastrous attempts at finding love, Sammy is more than ready to give up on dating altogether. Unfortunately for her, Lou refuses to let that happen. No matter how many times things go wrong, Lou always seems to find another potential match and convince Sammy to give love one more chance.
This time, that match is Shaun.
Without giving away spoilers, I can say that things don’t unfold the way I expected. Just when I thought Sammy might finally get the date she deserves, the story took a turn that kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next.
One of my favorite parts of this series continues to be the friendship between Sammy and Lou. Their dynamic feels authentic, and their conversations often had me smiling. Lou’s determination to help her friend find happiness, even when Sammy would rather avoid dating altogether, adds both humor and heart to the story.
What I enjoy most about this series is how relatable Sammy is. She’s hopeful but cautious, frustrated but still willing to try again. Anyone who has experienced the ups and downs of modern dating will probably find something to connect with in her story.
Mr. Dependable was another enjoyable installment in the series. It delivered the humor, surprises, and friendship I’ve come to expect, while continuing Sammy’s search for the right person. At this point, I’m fully invested and can’t wait to see where her journey takes her next.
I’m still rooting for Sammy and hoping that one day she’ll finally get the happy ending she’s been looking for.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another hilarious, relatable dating disaster!
Disastrous Dating Saga: Mr Dependable sees Samantha heading out on another date — this time with Shaun, aka Mr Dependable. After the emotional rollercoaster that was Cole (Captain Right), Samantha is still trying to recover… and honestly, so am I! Cole definitely left an impression.
At first, Shaun seems almost too good to be true — a gorgeous gardener with a huge heart who goes above and beyond for the people he loves. He feels like exactly the kind of man Samantha deserves. But, of course, dating is never that simple. When it becomes clear that Shaun is still in love with his ex, Samantha somehow ends up doing what Samantha does best — putting someone else first and playing matchmaker to reunite them. And just like that, another potential boyfriend slips away.
I absolutely love this series. It’s funny, warm, frustrating in the most relatable way, and painfully accurate at times. These books genuinely take me back to my own dating days, and Laura Harnett and Tiffany Taylor capture Samantha’s hopes, disappointments, and determination so perfectly that you can’t help but root for her.
I’m already desperate for the next instalment — please don’t make me wait too long!
“There was no room for regrets or insecurities tonight. As far as I’m concerned this evening was a success.”
At first it seemed to be going great, the connection was heating up nicely but well no surprise it didn’t really go to plan. I am really starting to feel for Samantha, they say there are plenty of fish in the sea but is she going to have to date the whole ocean before she finds the one?
Mad respect to her character though for making the 2 of them see what was really meant to be.
Also her making that new friend over playing pool made me think her type was going to go in a whole different direction? Like there were vibes right? Or am i wrong?
P.s. I am going to need a book about Lou at some stage she needs to be in the spotlight!
I think date 4 is probably my favourite so far. I love that our mc knows her worth and has come to realise what she wants for herself, what is best for herself. This instalment also illustrates what a wonderful human being Samantha is. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series.
