Black Veil pulled me in from the very first page and never let go. It delivers everything I love in a dark romance intense chemistry, suspense, dangerous secrets, and characters who are impossible to forget.
Amelia Carter's transformation from someone longing for a normal life into a woman caught in a world of power, betrayal, and hidden truths is both compelling and emotional. Adrian Blackwood is the definition of a captivating morally gray hero cold, powerful, protective in his own way, and utterly magnetic. Every scene between them crackled with tension and kept me eager to see what would happen next.
The story is layered with mystery, shocking twists, and a constant sense that no one can truly be trusted. The dark, luxurious atmosphere perfectly complements the romance, making every revelation feel even more impactful. I especially enjoyed how the suspense and emotional stakes continued to build without ever losing momentum.
If you're a fan of dark romance filled with obsession, forbidden attraction, betrayal, and high-stakes mystery, Black veil is absolutely worth reading. It's an addictive first installment that leaves you desperate for the next book. I can't wait to see where Amelia and Adrian's journey goes from here!

I DNF’d at 49%!
I’ve given it 2 stars because the first 9/10 chapters had me hooked, but then I’m not sure what happened.
It was so fast-paced that I just didn’t know what was going on, and certain parts didn’t make sense to me.
There seemed to be important information missing. One second, someone is there, and the next, they’re screaming from upstairs, but they’ve also somehow managed to leave directions at the top of the stairs explaining where they took her? At least, that’s how it came across to me.
I’m not sure if it was because it was originally written in Bulgarian and then translated, but I was completely lost by the halfway point.
Unfortunately, this one just wasn’t for me.

This book had me hooked from the start. The chemistry between Amelia & Adrian was everything you want and more from a dark romance book, there was tension, spice and a lot of push and pull between the two which we love. I did feel there was some repetitiveness in the dialogue between them, which caught me. But the book and plot itself I couldn’t fault, definitely a good mafia book to recommend!

I DNR'd it a quarter of the way through. It's extremely fast-paced with gaping inconsistencies, little explanation and reminiscent of AI writing to me. Author says they wrote it in Bulgarian (their mother language) and used AI to translate it into English. So this may be why it sounds AI written.

When Kiril reached out to me and told me about his books, I was immediately intrigued. If you know me, you know I love an unhinged and feral MMC. Honestly, the more fucked in the head he is, the better. So, of course, I had to give BLACK VEIL a read, and OMG, Adrian Blackwood was deliciously unhinged, dangerously possessive, and everything I wanted him to be.
Adrian is cold, powerful, feared, and completely untouchable. Once he decides something belongs to him, there is absolutely no letting go. His obsession with Amelia had me glued to every page because this man does not love softly. He loves with control, danger, and the kind of intensity that makes you question every red flag you have ever claimed to possess.
Amelia never wanted power or a life surrounded by secrets and violence, but one mistake pulls her directly into Adrian’s dark and dangerous world. I loved watching everything she believed about her life begin to unravel. The secrets, hidden organizations, betrayals, and shocking truths surrounding her past kept me completely invested.

I am a dedicated romantasy reader who hasn't read a book without a creature in it for 14 years. But Black Veil by Kiril Banski completely dragged me out of my comfort zone and absolutely consumed me! 🖤

A dark mafia romance. This story has so much potential. I like to believe the KU version is the original version and not the edited version since some chapters were repetitive. It does not lack in action. Has plenty of actions, twist after twist and it is not boring. But I’m not sure I had a good copy.
As for the characters, it was all quick. She doesn’t know who she truly is and who her family truly were and he knew everything about her.
There was no tension, no slow burn and the MMC had multiple interest that catches you by surprise. People presumed not alive were indeed alive. Secrets after secrets. Leaves in a cliffhanger.

Mafia based books are not my usual read but I thought I would give this a go. I was very quickly drawn in with the idea of a man so brutal as Adrian would be drawn so quickly to Amelia, ‘touch her and you die vibes but so much more intense’, but you start to anymore as you read. There is an unknown history which slowly gets revealed, not giving anything away here, and Amelia starts to question her family and her existence, was everything she knows of her life before a lie or was she told lies to be protected. The characters are quite intense but easy to follow but I also found as each character was drawn into the story it became a little confusing, with not having any background to go on but that’s what draws you in, you want to learn and see more of what the future holds. Roll on book 2!

UPDATE: after sharing my review with the author it seems I may have had an older version of the book on KU which was an incorrect copy. I will be giving this a reread in the future.
This one was a miss for me. The story/wording felt repetitive, and maybe even generated. Everything moved so quickly that I struggled to connect with the characters. I wanted more depth and development instead of everything feeling rushed.

Great story
This book was good, but I had problem connecting with the characters. It might have been because I didn’t get to see their past and was getting a bit lost.
The chemistry between Amelia and Adrian was put off this world. I couldn’t get enough of those two.
Every chapter has its own cliffhanger and I loved it, if I had the time I would definitely finish reading the book earlier.

I liked the writing style of the author. It was easy to read and made me get trough the book really fast. The way he wrote made it seem very thrilling. It gave the vibes of a mystery book with some romance. It was a bit confusing and i had a bit of a hard time because normally i don’t read books written in 3rd person. It was a nice and fast read for in between tho !
