Passions are ignited, secrets unravel, trusts are broken, and lives are changed forever
Faith Gibson's love of books started early on. So much so that she decided to write her own stories. When a college professor told her she had a gift, she took him at his word and put pen to paper (because back then, there were no computers. Shh, we don't mention her age.)
Her love of all things paranormal mixed with crazy dreams led to her first series, The Stone Society, about Gargoyle shifters in search of their mates while protecting humanity from unhinged beasts known as The Unholy. The Hounds of Zeus MC series was born from one of their own being a mate of a Gargoyle. The Rebel Moon Shifters are the next generation, all the kids from the first two series.
Faith also abbles in MM worlds and contemporary suspense, but her first and forever love is fantasy.
When Faith isn’t hard at work on her next story, she can be found reading, cooking, playing in the dirt (planting stuff) or playing with her staffy pup, all while listening to hard rock music.
Arc generously provided from the author for an honest review. 3.50 sweet stars.
I have to say that I was drawn to this story based on the premises right from the very start. I wanted to know how Annie our heroine was going to handle THREE men??? That sounds like a heck of a quandary to me.
This was a fast flowing story and was on the shorter side. We had several plot twists thrown in and lots of action in a short amount of time. As we get to meet the men of Annie's life, (Mitch, Marcus and Scott) one of her past beaus is quickly removed from the equation. Scott reveals his feelings for their former threesome is more one sided for him.
This leaves Mitch and Marcus- half brothers. OH man, I was worried where this was going to go. BUT our author lead us in a different direction than where I thought it would go. I have to say I really likes Annie's connection to Mitch. I was pulling for that relationship to come out on top. Mitch let everyone believe the worst of him but Annie knew his true side. I was really bummed when one of the aforementioned plot twists put him put of the running.
Marcus was not as well developed as I would have liked and I felt like he won out of default. He had major feelings for Annie all this time and she was involved with and loved Mitch. Yes a part of her had always loved Marcus and they were tied in a way that couldn't be denied( a child that was born out of their one and only night together- He was a great character) but it seemed rushed into after Mitch was no longer a part of her love story. I think we needed some more time for Marcus and Annie's relationship to blossom.
Overall a great start for a new author and I look forward to seeing more from her and seeing her growth.
Absolutely loved this book! It was wrought with emotion and had twists that kept me guessing, scenes that had me dabbing my eyes with tissues, and of course smoking hot sex scenes. Annie Dalton is in for an unwanted surprise visit from her past as one of her workers sister is abducted. When Marcus comes through the door, she is not nearly as happy to see him as he is to see her. Then Scott stops by and a surprise to everyone is standing in the bakery line. Confusion, hurt, and betrayal all come into play as Marcus finds out a secret that both Scott and Annie kept from him. Then there is smoking hot bad boy Mitch. He is what lights Annie's fire. When his trouble reaches her, can they come out unscathed? We also get to see more Jesse and Dean! Love them! This book has it all. Did not expect to love it so much and I do absolutely! Faith Gibson has outdone herself and I will forever be a fan!
I loved this book and the storyline! A lot happens to Annie some good and some bad. You can read Double Stuffed Eclairs as a stand alone but, there is a prequel "Candy Hearts" that tells Jessie (Annie's brother) & Dean's story, I can't wait to read more of your books Faith!
As a teenager, Annie Mae Dalton didn't date much. But that didn't mean she didn't have any fun with the boys. In fact, she had fun with 2 very cute boys, Marcus and Scott. The three were inseparable. They did everything together.
After graduation Marcus and Scott go off to college together, leaving Annie behind to study for their careers in law enforcement. Annie's mother gets ill so she and her twin brother Jesse take over, the family business, Sweet Things bakery.
When the sister of Annie's employee goes missing, Marcus, an FBI agent and Scott, Atlanta PD detective, team up in the search for the missing girl. This case brings the three old friends back together for the first time in years.
Although Scott married after college, he never quite got over his high school love. Being back in Clarksville with Annie and Marcus reminds him of the love he left behind all of those years ago.
As soon as Marcus sets foot Sweet Things he is brought back to the old days. Catching first sight of Annie, she is more beautiful than he remembered. All he wanted was to reach out and touch her. When Annie doesn't respond in kind, Marcus focuses on the task at hand, finding the missing girl.
Although Annie never forgot her time with Marcus and Scott, she moved on with her life. She never had long term, serious relationships, but she did carry on a steamy, secret affair with Mitch the sexy, tatted, bad boy biker, oh yeah he's Marcus's older half brother.
These three men being back in Clarksville at the same time, turned the one time love triangle into Annie squared. Life just got a whole lot more complicated as the affair with Mitch is not the only thing Annie has been hiding.
Take a small town bakery, 3 HOT dudes, one sexy Annie, reveal a secret or two and add a heaping dose of suspense and what you've got is a recipe for a great book.
With the release of Candy Hearts earlier this week and now Double Stuffed Eclairs, Faith Gibson has proven herself a wonderful story teller. Her writing style will have you feeling you want to keep reading. And like with every Sweet Thing, after the last bite, you want more!
♡♡I fell in love with Mitch, who would you choose?♡♡
This is the first book written by this author but you can not tell. This book, plot line and characters are awesome and easy to relate to. There is a little of something for everyone, there is some action, love sad moments, hot and steamy scenes. I would recommend this book.
Quick read, not my usual, but I like the author's, so I read between series. Good storyline, a few surprises, twists and turns, ended as I figured it would. A bit of steamy sex, cute, touching scenes so a bit of everything. A worthwhile read if you're looking for a quick read.
OMG!! Faith does it again, she can master any genre out there. She is a master at pulling the audience into the characters she is writing about. Annie Mae Dalton didn't lead the typical high school student life- she didn't date or go to social gatherings. She was being groomed to take over the bakery for her mother. Marcus and Scott were best friends and both loved Annie. They convinced her to date them both when she wasn't working at the bakery neither of them forcing her to choose. When Marcus and Scott left to go to college together leaving Annie behind she sought comfort in the arms of Mitch, Marcus' half-brother. They had an understanding- Mitch joined the army and he only saw Annie when he was on leave. When something bad comes from Mitch's past, who will get caught up in the crossfire? Who Annie end up with?
Brothers, secrets, heartbreak, and a second chance
Two brothers and Annie. A big secret and a false accusation made this an interesting read. It starts with a missing person, but becomes a story of lost love and a tragic loss. The development of the storyline seemed to switch from the suspenseful beginning to her sexual relationship with Mitch and her former love, his brother Marcus. I wish that the suspense would have played a prominent part of the story, but it didn't.
There were parts that ended in unexpected ways that kept me absorbed. Annie seemed to be about 31 at the start of the story. I like a mature heroine with a past.
Decent story but a little too much stuff going on for me. Almost too much of a storyline. Did like the authors writing and will check out more of her books. There are a lot of twists and turns in this read
I RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A HONEST REVIEW...
