REAPER and Addy
This is not the usual Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists book that we all know and love. This story revolves around REAPER, aka, Wyatt and Addy. Wyatt is not a member of Guardian HRS, but his older brother is. He has been living in emotional and physical exile for 4 years. He made a terrible mistake and it cost him dearly. He is determined to make the person(s) responsible for it pay. Addy is a forensic accountant and is very good at her job. She's very close to finding the key to unraveling Ares, a global conglomerate who is up to some very bad business. Wyatt and Addy decide to work together. Forced proximity caused feelings to develop. They have a literal mountain of obstacles standing between them and their HEA. Get this book and see what happens next. You won't regret it. Sorry, no spoilers.

Fast paced quick read, there was nothing short or quick about this story.
It read like a complete standalone, brimming with all the feels.
Intense and suspenseful our hero Wyatt aka Reaper is not a member of the Guardian HRS. His brother is and their relationship has been strained done to a huge misunderstanding.

I think this might be my fav book of this series! I love a good redemption story even though it was a mistake. It had a strong MFC who never gave up and didn’t back down. Ellie always writes a story that makes you feel so many emotions and keeps you on a rollercoaster from page 1 to the end. Can’t wait to see what her mind is cooking up and who is whispering their story in her ear.

This might be a novella but it’s packed. Reaper takes you on a whirlwind of action, dirty deeds, and a love that grows from it all. A sniper who chooses protection over the contract, and a brilliant heroine who’s tougher than she looks. Ellie Masters delivers redemption + explosive chemistry. Another awesome read. 🤓

Loved this story! It started with a shocker and continued with Wyatt, aka Reaper, the "protector" of Addy. There's also another story going on in the midst of the storyline. My favorite part was found in Chapter 18 when Addy lays it on the line. Awesome characters. A short read with a FULL story!

This may be a short read, but it's a big, awesome and powerful read!! A fast paced action packed story right from the git go! Mystery, suspense and a great love story with some hot sexy parts included. I totally recommend reading this book!!

REAPER by Ellie Masters is Guardian HRS Short Read. Reaper (Wyatt) is a morally grey hero with a broken heart, currently a sniper turned off book assassin. He gets a contract to kill Adelaide “A.D.” Hart, a brilliant federal forensic accountant, who refuses to be a victim.
Four years ago, Reaper took a contract, but “the Broker” lied about the target and Reaper killed an innocent, federal witness. Events that day led to his brother, Frost who is a Guardian HRS, refusing to have any further dealings with him. Since that day, he’s spent four years hunting a ghost, the man who set him up. When he gets a contract to kill Adelaide, something feels wrong, so he watches her for 51 hours through a scope. The longer he watches, the more he realizes she’s not the villain, she’s the key to finding out who set him up four years ago.
The action with Reaper and Addy starts the minute you turn to page one, when a second assassin arrives to finish the job that Reaper didn’t do. Reaper intervenes, kills the assassin and extracts Adelaide, now they’re both targets. It may be short but it packs a big punch and sends you on a rollercoaster of emotions. One mistake has left Reaper / Wyatt, estranged from his brother, a Guardian HRS operative, a ghost, determined to right a wrong. He accepts a target, Addy a forensic accountant, in order to protect her and take down the men who lied to him. What follows is action on another level as they find themselves on the run from men determined to shut them both down, while dodging whatever mother nature throws at them. With undeniable and electric chemistry, Wyatt will do whatever it takes to ensure that Addy is safe, even at the cost of his own life, but Addy is strong and determined to ensure that Wyatt gets the backup she feels he deserves, even if it means standing up to a Guardian HRS operative and calling him out.
If you can put this book down then you are stronger than me. I had to read this in one sitting and whilst a novella, it gives you everything you would expect from Ellie and so much more.

Ellie Masters' short reads are intensity on steroids personified. The action, danger, suspense, intrigue and spice are nonstop because there's a lot packed in fewer pages. Reaper and Adelaide are working the same case but from different angles. Wyarr AKA Reaper takes an assignment for her only to protect her not too eliminate her. Addy knows how to stay off the grid as she digs for information but somehow the bad guys find her. What ensues is a wild getaway ride that's edge of your seat worthy. Reaching out to Guardian is both his first and last resort because his brother, Frost (Guardian HRS Echo Team,) judged and condemned him, then cut all ties because of an op gone wrong. The team has his and Addy's backs and complete the mission successfully. Along the way the full truth comes and and not only do the brothers reconcile but Wyatt and Addy get their HEA. I LOVED IT!

Interesting twist to the usual GHRS books. Reaper is Ghost's brother, a hired killer who made a mistake in the past. He was hired to kill Addy, a forensic accountant, but it turns out she's not the bad gal and he isn't going to make the same mistake twice. When a second assassin shows up to kill her, Wyatt rescues her. These two have sparks flying immediately and I loved how they both are more than willing to figure out this attraction as well as the mystery surrounding them both. These two a somewhat unique. Wyatt isn't looking for redemption and Addy isn't a damsel in distress. She's actually the catalyst to bring down the bad guy and ends up bring Reaper and Ghost to an understanding about what happened in the past to fracture their relationship. And best of all, Addy and Wyatt get their HEA.

This installment in the GHRS short‑story series had a different feel from the others. The Reaper drops you into the action quickly, but it also drops you into the middle of a lot of history that isn’t immediately explained. The backstory comes in fragments, which made the first part of the book harder to settle into.
That said, once the pieces start falling into place, the story becomes much more engaging. Wyatt and Addy work well together, and their partnership — along with the support of GHRS — leads to the takedown of a deadly syndicate. Wyatt’s emotional arc is the highlight: his long‑held guilt finally lifts, and he shifts from isolated lone wolf to someone who belongs on his brother’s team.
A rocky start, but a satisfying finish.

The mechanical editing is fine, but doesn’t anyone proofread the content?
Inconsistency drives me crazy. There was an example early in the story. Here she goes from holding his scarred hand to pressing against his leather glove in a few paragraphs. If he had gloves, why wasn’t he wearing them when she held his hand?
Later she drops her towel and goes to him. Then he’s undoing her bra and reaching inside her sweat pants.
These things have no impact on the plot. They just keep me from being able to enjoy it.

A different Guardians story because Reaper was not a Guardian he was an outcast. His brother, Frost has not spoken to him for four years because Reaper inadvertently took a contract on an innocent man. For four years Reaper has been making amends and destroying members of the syndicate. Addy is an unexpected wrinkle in his plans. A short but powerful story of redemption, love and the closing of a chapter in the Guardians evolution.

ARC review. Reaper is the 6th book in Ellie Masters’ Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists: Short Reads and in my opinion the best of all. Addy and Reaper are great characters whose chemistry not only sizzles but enhances both of their personalities and makes what turns out to be THEIR mission a heart stopping, action packed experience. They belong together and Reaper needs his brother back. Hopefully they will finish their mission and find their HEA.

Addy learns that Wyatt, known as Reaper, and she are both working the same case from different angles. Wyatt believes himself unredeemable following an incident four years ago after which his brother, Frost, disowned him. However when danger comes Frost and his team aid in protecting Addy who in turns protects Wyatt. A gripping adventure from start to finish.

Gritty Sexy and lots of action
I think this is 1 of her best ones. I loved how she brought addie and reaper together it was hot! Her description of the fights and the gun battles was excellent. If I hadn't already been following her I definitely would be after reading this book My only complaint Is that I wish they were longer

Another fantastic read by Ellie, full of suspense, action, drama and heat. These quick reads really do pack a punch and I am loving them.
Reaper was just so amazing, I’m so glad he got redemption. Addy was his perfect match, so smart and brave, she was amazing.
Overall a thrilling read with everything I want from a romantic suspense book.

Everything you want
I knew this would be an exciting read. All of Ellie Masters stories are, especially when they are about the Guardians! You become so caught up in the story that you're wishing it was a longer one, of course that wouldn't have mattered, it was that good! Addy and Wyatt's story is full of danger from a hit squad that doesn't quit.

Reaper
This was a very good story. Protection, Redemption, Love it had it all. I really enjoy these short reads. You always pack so much in them. I really hope you write some more. Keep adding to the wonderful world of HRS!!!!!

Addy and Wyatt’s story is a wonderful read. How these two work together to bring down The Ares Global network with completely different methods is a real page turner. It also shows things are not sometimes what they seem to be. Great heartwarming feel good read!

Wow! Just wow! This book has edge of your seat suspense, danger and romance packed in a fast-action story. Wyatt and Addy find stepping into the light is worth fighting for. So good. Highly recommend reading this addition to the series!

Wonderful series of books
The Guardian Series (all of them) are fantastic. This book is great. It shows what a strong woman can do, besides getting her man. This book was never dull or boring. Extremely excellent book. Everyone should read it.

Wow
Each story of the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists Short Reads was full of heart pounding moments, strong alpha men and equally strong women. Lots of steamy romance and protection. I love all of Ellie Masters books.
