This book isn't filled wtih flowery or overly descriptive language. It isn't hugely attentive to detail. It is told rather simply and fact by fact leading up to the murder and through the course of the investigation that follows. The conversations, situations and characters seem believable and practical. It doesn't build up for a huge outlandish twist at the end that is completely unrealistic. Added bonus it is based on a real place, so those setting descriptions are rather fun for we nearby residents to read.
I stumbled across this book after seeing it posted in our local fb page!
This book was written in the most descriptive and best way! I really enjoyed recognizing local parts to the book! There were a few moments I truly was stumped but when I discovered who all the pieces connected instantly! I really enjoyed this book!
What a fantastic read! And very familiar! I’m a bridge tender on the Gwynn’s Island Bridge! Bruce is my talented neighbor. This book was so fun to read with the personal surroundings of the setting, while keeping you guessing about the plot. Would recommend this book.
A brutal attack on a quiet island wends its way through possibilities, suspects, and motives near and far. And the read and ride are both exciting and convoluting as the sheriff digs into the case.
I enjoyed my trip to the Island, and am so hoping there are more books to come in this universe/location/series. Gwynns Island is local to me, so I recognize several areas, stores, and restaurants mentioned. I also met the author during a local signing event, and he was so sweet.
I saw this book and our family goes on vacations in Mathews. So I decided to read it and enjoyed the murder mystery. Couldn’t put it down. Richardsons is our favorite place to eat down there. I sure hope you write more books 😊
