Meadow Ridge Academy was our dream.

We were meant to attend together. Jordan, my twin brother, was my one safe person in the whole world. Instead, he’s gone, and I’ve been forced into a dorm suite with my worst my arrogant academic rival and his inner circle of infuriatingly gorgeous friends.

Gavin, Julian, Titus, and Nolan.

Co-ed. It’s a word I’ve never felt have so much weight, but with no other choice, it’s take the room or go back home—and I’d rather die than step foot back in that house of horrors.

I just need to resist their lethal charm, keep my head down, and graduate. I’ve spent my life invisible; hiding from four guys should be easy.

But they aren’t the only ones I have to worry about, but something tells me there’s more lurking in the shadows of Meadow Ridge than just the eyes I feel on me all day.

And if I'm not careful, this academy will swallow me alive.

Walking the halls of Meadow Ridge Academy, I realize that dreams come true—but at what cost?

I really enjoyed the first 85%, but two things I wanted to see more of:

1. An actual reaction to her aunt’s behavior. They were not as unhinged as I thought they’d be
2. Side characters. There is zero plot right now, simply being introduced to characters and their backstories, and it could’ve benefited so much from actual side characters

Some parts made me cringe hard, one part made me laugh. I probably would have dnf’d if I wasn’t seeking this genre.

Besides the plot holes, the inconsistencies, the immaturity, the pacing, the implausibilities. There’s some entertaining value in here.

I’m not taken a liking to any of the characters, but the cliffhanger may bring me back for the next book if I remember about it.

Sealed is the 1st book in the Meadow Ridge Academy Series by Sara Hinds. Sealed is a PNR Academy why-choose romance and book 1 in my new Meadow Ridge Academy series that ends on a CLIFFHANGER. This is a slow-burn rival romance that has dark elements such as abuse, death, and loss of family members.

When I turned to the first page of Sealed, I was immediately transported into the world of Meadow Ridge Academy, a place that is just as beautiful as it is incredibly mysterious. I was completely absorbed in the story before I had time to stop turning the pages and found it impossible to tear myself away. This is not merely the start of a new series; it is the beginning of a journey which I never want to conclude. I am frightened to close the book and take a breath again, lest this dreamlike experience comes to an end too quickly.

The story follows Wren Indra, a little girl who has never lost the firm and unshakeable resilience that was at the heart of her character, even though she had lost her parents and endured the harsh and cruel treatment from her aunt. She never lost belief in herself; she never held the world responsible for the troubles she had suffered; instead, she merely bit her tongue, took all her pain into her chest and pressed on. Whenever she took a step, I secretly cheered her on, dreading the possibility that she might collapse at any time and yearning for her to make it through and to have a less difficult life.

Since she didn't attend Meadow Ridge Academy with her twin brother Julez, she had to face off against the demands of this new life all on her own from the very start. While most girls would have given in under such circumstances, she used that same stubborn determination to pack her belongings and navigate the unfamiliar school.

As soon as she arrived, she moved into a unique dorm room with four roommates: Nolan, Julez, Titus, and Gavin, each with their own motives. None of them showed their true selves right after meeting; each one had secrets and past experiences which they never mentioned.

I liked Julez most, since from the first moment they met she became Wren's steadfast companion. She was always beside her, chatting with her, assisting her in getting used to her new environment, and making sure that the lonely newcomer never even for a moment felt excluded when Wren craved warmth and a friend above all else. I read each chapter and watched the group's dynamics shift gradually, with old conflicts resurfacing and new friendships emerging, eager to see what kinds of relationships would eventually form among these young people, each carrying their own secret burdens.

Wren loved reading and, as a result, spent nearly all her free time in the school library, where she met Dimitri Adler, a man who seemed mysterious. Among her other roommates, there was a cautious, defensive distance, but when she was with Dimitri Adler, the atmosphere seemed to ease. The quiet, unshowy way they connected gave every scene they shared a steady, highly engaging quality.

All the others kept Wren at arm's length, but whenever she was with Dimitri, I could see it clearly: Wren relaxed. She felt safe. It was the quiet relief of shoulders that had been tight for far too long finally being able to unclench, no longer having to keep herself on guard against whatever might happen.

Wren got used to her new life at Meadow Ridge Academy, and the civil distance between her and her roommates at the start of the term gradually disappeared. With Nolan in particular, their relationship moved from simply exchanging a nod to growing closer. I felt a warm, fuzzy sensation when I read about how their friendship developed step by step: saving each other seats in the library, staying up late to work through problems when they were stuck on their assignments, and helping one another with their most difficult coursework.

Eventually, the careful attention that Nolan had always shown her developed into a firm and unchanging wish to protect Wren, something obvious to anyone who was watching. Wren had finally found someone who would always be by her side. The most important point was that the strict and domineering headmaster, who had been hanging about like a heavy, inescapable shadow in the background and had been creating tension all around her, was the very person who had made Wren's life difficult, and happened to be Nolan's biological father.

Dimitri Adler further entangled the network of relationships, serving as both Wren’s devoted advisor and the professor who taught her at the school. The two had met at the academy long ago, and their shared history was filled with secrets and feelings they had never managed to put into words. A favorite element of the book's storytelling was how it gradually revealed that complicated past.

What struck me most about Sealed was the way author Sara Hinds integrated each new character into the plot, particularly since it is the first book in a complete series. The backstories of all the characters as well as all the connections and bonds between them were so neatly and smoothly interwoven that there was no sense of awkwardness or of artificially created conflict, something which troubles so many stories. Because I was already so deeply involved in the fates of these characters and so eager to find out what would happen in their next adventures, I was unable to put the book down.

Just as a well-done and solid first book in a series should, Sara created a cliffhanger which was so compelling that I was looking forward to the day when the next book would come out. From the very beginning, I was aware that Wren's story had only just begun; in the first part of the book, she appeared soft and gentle, always opting to avoid conflict, yet I could tell there was a sharp and firm strength hidden deep within her which, sooner or later, would come to the surface and be seen by everyone.

You won't want to put Sealed down when you start reading it; it's a book that combines magic, romance, and genuine feeling. If you're a fan of boarding school stories or if you're looking for a new and original 'why choose' romance with a bit of the supernatural, I really cannot recommend this series highly enough.

I'm really looking forward to finding out what happens next for Wren and everyone else who calls Meadow Ridge Academy home, and what further turns their lives will take.

Sealed is the first book in Hinds' new Meadow Ridge Academy. This paranormal, why choose, academy romance centers around Wren Indra. Wren lost her parents when she was younger, leaving her and her twin brother Jordan in their aunt Florida's hands. She took them in and proceeded to make their lives miserable. She was mentally and physically abusive.

As legacies, Wren and Jordan were supposed to attend Meadow Ridge Academy together but she had no choice but to attend alone. Having missed a good chunk of school, when she arrives the only space available for her ends up being in a dorm which had once been co-ed. She finds herself with four roommates: Nolan Ford, Julian (Julez) Spade, Theodore (Titus) Miller, and Gavin Asher. It so happens that she knows one of them. Gavin saw her as his academic rival in school, forever pushing him out of first place. The other three know of her from Gavin, and aren't very welcoming. Well, all except Julez. He promptly takes a liking to her. He flirts with her, stays by her side, gives her a tour, escorts her to class... He becomes her first friend. Titus, however, has been Julez's long-term partner and Wren's presence rubs him the wrong way. Over time though, his love for Julez allows him to ease up on his dislike of his newest roommate.

As a student committed to excellence, Wren spends a great deal of time in the library. This allows her a quiet place to study, as well as a safe space to escape her roommates. There she makes another friend - Felix. He is mysterious but she feels safe and comforted in his presence. She is in the minority however as anyone who knows Felix gives him a wide berth.

It takes Nolan a little while to warm up to Wren, but he ends up seeing the goodness in her. Along with Julez, he ends up studying with her and both of them benefit with increased grades. Wren also loves to watch Nolan swim, and much like she would do for her brother, she offers objective feedback which helps him improve his performance. Nolan's feeling for Wren grow and he wants to keep her safe and protected. This is a good thing as his father, the school's Dean, is a man known to be up to no good and for some reason he has his sights set on Wren.

There's yet another man in Wren's life: Dimitri Adler. Not only is he her guidance counselor but also one of her professors. Wren doesn't recognize him, but he immediately knows who she is. He remember when they met years prior and connected. She only knew him as D, and he ended up ghosting her when he needed to focus on his brother... Gavin. Not only does Wren not know he is the person she knew as D, but she also has no idea he is Gavin's brother. Dimitri knows he messed up and is keen to make things right.

I loved this first book in Hinds' new series. I think she did a wonderful job of introducing all the characters who will play important roles as the series unfolds. Readers now understand the connection between the players, as well as have some insight into their respective histories and their challenging familial situations.

As expected, the author leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger. I am keen to get my hands on the next installment but I have no idea when that might be. It seems that little Wren will also be toughening up as the series moves forward and I can't wait to see what comes next for her. While she may come across as being somewhat meek, I know that there's a tough cookie in there and I'm eager for her to come out and play.

This was a deliciously addictive read and if you enjoy fantasy-based, why choose romances, I'm certain you'll love it too.

Meet the characters:

Wren (FMC)

This FMC has been dealt a shitty hand, and her trauma responses feel incredibly authentic and there was a part of me that recognized the "damage" within her. When Wren finds herself assigned to a co-ed dorm with four men, her ability to adapt and find a way through difficult situations really highlights her resilience.

These men aren’t mortal, something she is still completely unaware of. I can’t wait to see her not only figure it all out in book two, but also see her become a total badass.

Julian & Titus

Julian is immediately drawn to his new roommate and he seems to have the ability to make Wren feel safe and comfortable in difficult environments.  He clearly feels something deeper than a random hookup, and his desire to take things slow and want a true relationship was probably my favorite thing about him. Their immediate connection was too sweet, and I fell in love with them instantly.

Titus instantly dislikes Wren. Being in a serious relationship with Julian, made watching their bond grow difficult. He initially avoids her making sure she knew how he felt with just a glare (seriously, he's a big grump). However, his ability to put his feelings aside to include Wren in their relationship solidified my admiration for him. Watching him protect Wren simply because he knows it’s what Julian would want melted my heart. I really hope that book two brings Julian, Titus, and Wren even closer together (and maybe includes some extra spicy scenes!).

Nolan

Nolan feels like a bit of an outlier. He dislikes Wren at the start, but she seems to have a natural ability to soften anyone she meets. Once he sees how pure her heart is, he finds himself drawn to her in a way he doesn't quite understand but chooses not to fight it. I have a feeling their relationship is going to be super sweet, and I can’t wait for more Nolan and Wren encounters in the next book.

Gavin & Dimitri

Gavin actually knew Wren. They competed against each other in academic decathlons throughout their youth. He resents her ability to always beat him. Having her suddenly show up as his newest roommate is almost too much for him to handle. As the story progresses, though, I think he starts seeing her in a different light and starts to soften towards her.

Adding to the drama is Gavin's older brother, Dimitri.  Dimitri accidentally bonded with Wren through a chance encounter and an innocent kiss in the past. When she arrives at Meadow Ridge Academy as one of his students, the pull between them is too much for him to ignore. While she doesn’t seem to recognize him from their past, she instinctively feels safe in his arms. With the brother dynamic, I see things turning delightfully awkward in book two.

Felix

Felix is the dark love interest who walks within the shadows (literally). He first encounters Wren in the library, where they form an easy, natural friendship. Just like the others, he is drawn to her in a way he can’t, and honestly, doesn't want to fight. I think he might be my favorite MMC right now. I love a dangerous, feared MMC who is a total softie with the FMC. He is good for her, and I hope his outside connections don't get in the way of what they're building.

I absolutely loved this book. The characters are amazing, and I adored the connections between them. I normally get impatient with a slow burn, but that was not the case here. I was hooked the second the FMC walked into the dorm on that first day.

The author does an incredible job introducing each character, giving the reader just enough to leave them wanting  more. I absolutely loved the "why choose" element. Especially with the established relationship between Julian and Titus. There is something so beautiful about a polyamorous dynamic where everyone loves and supports each other in different ways.  That level of unconditional love and safety is powerful.

The trauma elements within this story are intense. Watching Wren slowly fall apart was heartwrenching, and I found myself constantly worrying for her. Each man has their own damage they battle with as well.  I can see their love and support for each other healing the broken bits within each other.

Between the wonderful plot, the fantasy elements, and the awesome character dynamics, I found myself lost within the pages as the outside world seemed to just fade away. This book ends on an insane cliffhanger. Some foreshadowing had me hoping the story was going in a specific direction (I may have or may have not been right). With the direction the story is headed this book's final reveal is a total whopper. I can’t wait to see where the author takes these wonderful characters in book two! If you love high-stakes why-choose fantasy with an addictive plot, this is a must-read.

Nothing is quite as it seems

Woah! This was such a fantastic introduction to something new and now I desperately need more.

Wren has been through more than she ever should have but she is still determined to make her life her own. She has lost so much and then been abused by her last bit of family. This school is her chance to escape.

The men in this book are all wildly different in who and apparently what they are. We are still just dipping our toes into the paranormal world since Wren knows nothing of it.

D - Dimitri is someone she actually met years ago and was her friend untill he just vanished. They have an emotional bond she knows nothing about. She doesn't recognize this new version of him. He is her professor but the bond doesn't care.

Julian is the sweetest guy ever. He is immediately drawn to her and wants to be close to her. I absolutely adore everytyabout him. He does come with a slight complication in the form of Titus. Titus hates Wren immediately and part of that is him feeling that she might steal Julian away and some is just him being exceptionally grumpy. I'm seriously hoping for some fantastic group stuff with these two later.

Nolan is our kinda shy nerdy guy that doesn't want to get to know Wren. Until she shows up at the pool and offers advise. These two are going to be cute together.

Gavin does not like Wren and hasn't since they were in grade school and she beat him in a competition. He thinks she is a rival and her to take over. Slowly we see him take off his rose covered glasses and start to see who she is not who he made her.

Lastly we have our mysterious bad boy Felix. He has never been interested in anyone and everyone is constantly trying to warn her away. I love the relationship they are building. They have a connection that is interesting since no one ever gets any softness from this killer until her.

I'm absolutely hooked and read this in a single day. I can't wait to find out more. There is so much going on that we will need to discover. Also, is she really a dud because I think she is just blocked or sealed somehow. I can't wait to discover more.

The story immediately pulls you in with the loss of Jordan, the heroine's twin brother and the person who made her feel safe. His absence hangs over the entire story, making her arrival at Meadow Ridge Academy feel bittersweet from the beginning. What was supposed to be a dream quickly becomes something much more complicated.

Being forced to share a dorm suite with her academic rival and his group of friends certainly doesn't make things easier! Gavin, Julian, Titus, and Nolan each bring their own personalities and dynamics to the story, while the rivalry adds plenty of tension.

But what really caught my attention was the mystery surrounding Meadow Ridge Academy. There is a constant feeling that something isn't quite right, and the heroine's sense that she's being watched made me suspicious of practically everyone. 👀

I also appreciated that the story doesn't shy away from the darker emotional themes. Grief, family loss, abuse, secrets, and the struggle to feel safe again all give the story more depth beneath the academy setting.

The slow burn aspect worked well for me too. Instead of rushing everything, the story takes its time building the relationships, rivalries, questions, and mysteries surrounding the characters.

And then there's that cliffhanger. 😳

Let's just say the ending definitely makes it clear that this is only the beginning of the story, and there are plenty of unanswered questions that had me wanting to know what happens next.

Sealed is a compelling opening to a dark academy series, combining mystery, grief, rivalry, secrets, supernatural elements, and complicated relationships.

If you enjoy academy romances with a darker edge, slow burn tension, mysterious surroundings, and endings that leave you desperate for the next book, Sealed is definitely one to add to your TBR.

Meadow Ridge Academy may have been her dream, but something tells me surviving it is going to be a completely different story. 🖤📚

What on earth was in that book? I know Sara writes extremely hooking and amazing stories, but this one was on another level to me!!! Our FMC for this book is Wren who gets to the school a year later than expected and is driven to be able to catch up, only other issue is the dorm she was assigned has 4 men in it with the fifth bedroom as a gym so the couch it is for her, oh and basically her enemy from school before who she beat all the time is one of said roommates...

Nothing is smooth sailing but at least the only one out of Nolan, Julian, Titus, Gavin to really be nice to her at the beginning and throughout the whole book is Julian - honestly one of my favourite characters. Obviously we can all forsee something will happen with all of them and Nolan and Julian seem to be on board but Titus who happens to be Julian's boyfriend and Gavin are not s fan of Wren at all.

Wren has been through a hell of a lot with quite a vicious hands on aunt after her parents died and then her twin Jordans death, who she spent all her time with him to now be all alone. So she does turn to her guidance counsellor Dimitri who get this is also one of her professors and happens to be Gavin's older brother and the guy Wren was speaking to years ago and kissed before he changed his whole look so she never realises.

You may think 5 men is enough right, well think again because we seem to unconsciously have a thing for brothers as Wren ends up meeting a guy by the name of Felix who she studies in the library with practically every night and he ends up being Titus's brother who they all say is crazy dangerous but the guy has nothing but heart eyes for Wren - probably my favourite character. I need need need more of this book, not sure how really to describe the book other than men, men and more men!

beyond obsessed 😍

🚨ATTENTION DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT READ THE BOOK YET!🚨

Let me just say I’ve literally loved all tour stories so far, so when i seen this was coming I’ve been so excited because i knew it was going to be good. Somehow you managed to surpass my expectations by a mile. Each series you release gets better than the last which isn’t an easy feat with how amazing and addictive they are. Let me just say that these characters are amazing each so different but so similar in ways. I truly feel for Felix and her because they both had no one for so long and they can relate to one other having been through what they have. From what little we learn about Felix you can tell it was a lot like her own. Honestly shes slowly helping them all heal and I’m praying things work out with Dimitri once he comes clean. I know he will be heartbroken if not. I was hoping somehow her brother was alive but I was definitely shocked at how that all played out hopefully he can help keep his sister safe but I’m sure she’s going to be devastated to find out he’s alive and left her and let her think he was dead all that time. This poor girl has really been through it but i have a feeling this is going to make her so much stronger in the end and I’m rooting for her to end up being a powerful supernatural and by the sounds of it a princess that will put Rose in her place real quick huh?! I could see her Aunt blocking her powers to keep her docile and under her thumb. I cant wait for the next book to come out! I hope we get at least 4 books because i can already tell this series is going to be AMAZING!! It will definitely be a series i reread a few times! Wonder if any more men are going to fall for her she definitely deserves all the love she cant get! 🩷🩵💜🧡💚💙❤️

Wren, Wren, Wren. Our FMC in this series is a lovely and brilliant soul, but has such a sad story. She’s been pushed to excel for most of her life and for her and her twin brother, the plan was always to attend Meadow Ridge Academy as they were legacies. After another sad situation and a year delay, Wren finally gets to escape from her guardian Aunt’s wrath and attend the school. She meets her unimpressed roomies, Gavin (a person she knows well and has been in competition with for years), Julian, Titus, Nolan. She also meets her school counsellor, Dimitri and a secretive fellow student, Felix.

We’re kept in the dark for a lot of this story, much like Wren, but I love finding out things as she figures them out too. Seeing from the male character’s POV is enlightening and unravels the secrets. These guys are all so individual and I find myself loving them all. Even if I wanna bop these guys and specifically Gavin on the nose sometimes. Julian is all in from the beginning and is the support our girl needed and I want to hug him for it.

I am desperate to find out what happens next and loved the twists and turns of this plot heavy (and lightly spiced) book. I love any book Sara releases and this was something totally new from her and big surprise, I loved it too. I think you’ll love it as well. The cliffhanger was a shock in the best way and not as mean as it could have been! Sara is known for some rough ones. This cliffy was just a little surprise but makes the anticipation for book two so much higher.

I received an advance copy of this book in return for my honest review.

This is a great slow burn why choose. Wren is a likeable heroine who despite having some major trauma from growing up and dealing with the grief of losing her twin, is determined to get out from under her Aunt's cruel dominance. There is definitely more to Wren than meets the eye and although she is being treated like a pawn and isn't fully aware of what she is tangled up in, I can't wait to see her take control!

The MMCs are all at different stages of their relationship with Wren but the ones who stood out to me were Julez (I love a golden retriever who bares his fangs when needed), Felix (he's just misunderstood - I'm normally Nolan coded but I think Felix is going to be my favourite), and Titus. The jealousy aspect from Titus' POV as he is already in a relationship with Julez was an interesting focus for a why choose story and I liked how this isn't a straight up case of Insta-love/lust.

I love foreshadowing and this has it in spades. From the hints to what the guys are, to that dodgy meeting between the evil Aunt and Headmaster to the initial Dimitri reveal, there are plenty of hints being dropped throughout the story. Some are answered but there are still plenty of secrets to be uncovered. Including that little glimpse in the final chapter - I need to know all the hows and whys about that major reveal!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

I received an ARC of Sealed and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I absolutely loved Wren, she's sarcastic, resilient, and obviously carrying around some major baggage, which immediately made me want to know more about her story.

This is a why choose paranormal romance, and Sara Hinds does an amazing job of dropping little breadcrumbs throughout the book. You know something bigger is going on with Wren, and the foreshadowing is everywhere, but just when you think you've figured it out, you're left with even more questions. I also have a feeling that Aunt knows far more than we are seeing and is hiding some pretty significant secrets.

The relationships and supernatural connections were fascinating, and I loved trying to piece together how everyone fit into the bigger picture. Every chapter seemed to reveal just enough information to keep me guessing without giving away the answers.
Around 60% of the way through, I already knew I was going to be devastated by the ending because there was no way everything could be wrapped up in one book (plus she blatantly told us this was book 1 of a series… did it make it make the cliffhanger easier, NO)!

I finished the book feeling both validated and completely confused at the same time. Some of my suspicions about Wren seem to have been correct, but I still don't understand all the dynamics at play. There were so many hints, secrets, and unanswered questions that I know this story is going to stick with me for a while. Book 1 isn’t even out yet and already I’m craving Book 2. I'll be first in line to read it.

Ummmm I'm sorry what the heck was the ending?!?!?! I need book two yesterday! Before reading this book, please look at the trigger and content warnings because there is discussion about abuse, death, sexual content, etc.

Wren and Jordan are twins and they have been attached to the hip for most of their life, especially after an accident that killed both of their parents. Jordan is a sporty guy whereas Wren is a kid genius and they ran in the same circle as our main guys. After a tragedy, Wren finds herself knocking on the door of a dorm with four gorgeous men who are supposed to be her roommates. Julian, Gavin, Titus, and Nolan are all pensive about her living with them, because all of the people in her life are keeping a big secret from her. When feelings start emerging from everyone including others besides the core five, they need to either decide to keep Wren in the dark or not.

I was so excited to be chosen to be an ARC reader for this book because I love slow burn, why choose romances. What I wasn't expecting was there to be a supernatural element to the book and it kept my brain working trying to figure out what everyone was because I really liked that Sara didn't full out say what everyone was I was trying to use context clues trying to figure it out. I think this book was a really good length and I couldn't put it down. It's hard for me to choose a favorite character because all of them are so good and grow in their own ways. I think this book is definitely worth the read and I will be waiting very UNPATIENTLY for book 2!

Mostly because there were a lot of pacing issues; sometimes the time flew by, other times the days dragged on. There were also some plot errors with the timing.
There was also a significant plot issue with Wren being a dud. It's said over and over again that humans cannot know about the magical world, but they find out that Wren is a dud, from a very magical bloodline, yet the MMC's still keep who/what they are from her. If she comes from a magical bloodline, it should be assumed that the FMC would know about magic.

A couple other plot errors are some of the MMC's know things about her or her brother without being told (like if a fight happened at 8 am and only involved 1 of the MMC's, several of the others already knew without being told).

The ETL thread of Gavin versus Wren was weak as hell. He hates her just because she beat him at every academic competition? Get over yourself.

It's also a pet peeve of mine when Academy/university books act are written like the characters are still in high school. Detention, guidance counselor, and uniforms are all written in such a way that it makes me think the author never went to college or university and just copied all of these from other RH/her own high school books. It's disappointing to read.

Dumb nicknames of the FMC:
Blondie, beautiful, pretty girl, cupcake, honey, pookie, slowpoke, Eternity, love, my dear, baby, Birdie, Trouble.

Welcome, Wren - Nothing Here is What it Seems

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Another captivating series from Sara Hinds. We meet ultra-smart and talented Wren on her journey through Meadow Ridge Academy and her fight to gain her freedom from an abusive aunt. And of course, what journey wouldn't be complete without a handful of hotties, some conflict, and a dose of magic? Wren's drool-worthy bunch includes Dimitri, Julian, Felix, Nolan, Titus, and Gavin. They may not all be hers yet, but I have no doubt she'll collect them all eventually.

I had a little trouble initially getting into this book, mostly due to the unnecessary confusion from how the three prologues - yup, you read that right, there are three - were written. Other than one aspect I felt was instantly predictable (time will tell if I'm right), we got to know these characters and saw their relationships develop in a very natural way. Overall this was a great origin story for this crew and thanks to a fantastic yet infuriating cliffhanger, I absolutely cannot wait for book two.

I received a free ARC book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Check out my reviews.

Honestly this book was so much more than I was expecting when I decided to pick it up. And I am absolutely locked in to it now. I have loved every book I have read from this author and Sealed was no exception. Obsession doesn’t even begin to describe how much I love this world Sara has created. Wren was a character I almost immediately loved dearly. She’s so easy to connect with and get invested in her story. She faces so much and comes through stronger and more determined. Wren’s connection with each of the love interests were unique to them but they all worked so well together. Which I wasn’t sure was going to be the case. Often times one or two seem to outshine the others but Sara kept it balanced perfectly. I cared equally for each and every one of them. The dynamic between the men was also highly intriguing. I just couldn’t get enough of the interactions between Wren and these men and the men with each other. The push and pull was phenomenal, the chemistry was unmatched, and the banter was perfection. Things may be complicated but they are incredible. This book set up the rest of the series in the best way and after that cliffhanger of an ending I absolutely cannot wait for the next book to come out. I NEED to know what comes next for Wren and her men. Please give me the next book soon!!

Slow burn 🔥🔥
🌶️🌶️
Sealed (Meadow Ridge Academy Book 1) completely hooked me from the start. The storyline was amazing, and I found myself fully invested in everything that was happening. Every time I thought I knew where things were going, I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next.

Wren was a great main character, and I absolutely loved her flirty banter with Julez. Their interactions were some of my favorite parts of the book. He was so patient with her, and their chemistry had me smiling every time they were together. I also loved seeing Wren start to develop feelings for Nolan, and I can’t wait to see how that relationship evolves in future books. And if I’m being honest, I’m secretly hoping Gavin ends up having a place in her heart too!

My only criticism is that I wish there had been more world-building and more detail in certain chapters. There were a few events where I wanted additional context and explanation. However, the story was so captivating that those issues didn’t take away from my enjoyment.

Overall, this was a fantastic read and an excellent start to the Meadow Ridge Academy series. The characters, relationships, and storyline kept me completely invested, and I’m already looking forward to the next book.

***HONEST ARC REVIEW***

What a unique and awesome book Sealed was. You get elements of magic/supernatural, why choose, lots of trigger warnings that are essential to the characters/plot & enough spice to keep you going.

Each character is written in such a great way that you really lean into their lives, feeling as if you’re right there in the book alongside them. Each MMC is perfect in their own way and give the FMC something she needs from each, even though there are 2 MMCs we haven’t figured out how they’ll fit into the “relationship”

Wren is the star of the book. She’s resilient as hell and determined to gain her freedom and happiness from her past that constantly weighs on her. Meadow Ridge Academy is the perfect place for that to happen. She’s also incredibly snarky & strong when she needs to be and overall just the perfectly imperfect nice girl.

What a cliffhanger. The closer I got to the end of the story I wondered what bomb would be dropped in the storyline and let me tell you, I was NOT expecting that to be the ending.

I need book 2 right this second cause I’m hooked.

Sealed Meadow Ridge Academy

Book one of unfinished series. Very good Academy story with reverse harem potential. Our heroine is Wren, college freshman, orphan, with a mysterious heritage. As the plot develops it's presented that Wren is human but is surrounded by paranormal students who must hide their nature. Wren and her twin brother Jordan were taken in by their aunt after their parents' fatal accident. It's not spelled out but hints indicate that this evil aunt has basically stole the parents' house and money and grossly abused the children. Wren is a "dud" , a magicless child of magical parents. But I suspect her powers were "sealed" possibly by the necklace she always wears. Her aunt tells her Jordan died while at a swim meet and Wren is devastated, taking a year in therapy. This is a mystery that bubbles up throughout the book. Lots of juicy hints intrigue the reader about things not being what they seem. At school she's housed in an all male dorm apartment with four supernaturals and romance and conflict abound. This was quite an entertaining read and I hope the series continues swiftly.

I am completely obsessed with Sealed. If you’re looking for an academy romance that hits hard on the emotional development, this is it.

Wren is such a compelling FMC. Coming from a background of family abuse and the devastating loss of her twin brother, she carries so much weight, and I really felt for her as she tries to find her footing at Meadow Ridge. The dynamic between her and the guys—Dimitri, Felix, Julian, Gavin, Nolan, and Titus—is incredibly well-written.

I really appreciated that the author kept the tension high without resorting to toxic bullying. Watching these six very different men peel back their walls and realize that Wren is someone worth protecting is pure gold. The mystery is gripping, but for me, it was the raw, emotional growth between Wren and her guys that made this an absolute standout. If you love a complex, character-driven story with a large, diverse harem, pick this up immediately!!! I am officially invested and cannot wait to see what happens next!

SIGN ME UP FOR MEADOW RIDGE ACADEMY

I was excited for something new from Sara Hinds and this first book of the Meadow Ridge Academy series is a definite must for lovers of paranormal, why choose steamy romance. But it's not all love and happiness, there are secrets, lies and deception. There's trauma, protectiveness, friendships and passion. The characters have depth and emotion but there is so much more to them that I eagerly await for future books in this series to expand and grow. The strength and vulnerability throughout the book is amazing to read and Sara Hinds never disappoints in her ability to draw you into a story with her creative and descriptive writing. Having read a vast number of books from this author I am usually left screaming at the injustices and cliffhangers, I was pleasantry surprised at the end, if not for the shock and twist. I think a counselling service from Professor Adler might be needed!!!

This was my first book by Sara Hinds and let me say it won’t be the last. I absolutely devoured this book. It has mystery, action, drama and suspense. It had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to the end. I love Wren and beautiful her personality is. Then of course we have the roommates who give mixed emotions about. I think my favorite out of all the guys is Felix. He is a mystery wrapped in an incredible package. He is mysterious and lethal but has a softer side you would never expect. Wren has been through the wringer and back with different things. The story is well written and developed. It definitely will have you on the edge of your seat. The only thing I wish was mentioned was that there is m/m I don’t mind some m/m I just like to be aware before I read a book. Otherwise, we get to the end and boy does the mystery deepen with that cliffhanger. I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next.

Emotional roller coaster that ends with a cliff hanger

*Please read all trigger warnings for this book*
Wren, born a twin and lost her parents first, sent to live with an aunt. They're both forced to be the absolute best, her brother in sports and her in academics. Her brother passes and she's still left with the ruthless cold Aunt that expects better than the best. Once she's accepted to the school, away from her Aunt, she still makes sure to excel at everything she does. Even being placed in a dorm with all men. They didn't want her there, but she has nowhere else she can go. Bullied all around she tried her best to ignore those around her, but soon she had admirers that originally didn't want anything to do with her.
This book leaves on a cliff hanger and drops a huge bit of information.

I cried during this, Wren the fmc just made my heart break for her. She’d lost so much and been through so much more. Her fear of failure was so powerful that it made me hurt with her.
I loved the guys, even when they were douche 🛶🛶🛶 to her at the start, but D, Felix, and Julez were my absolute favourites. Give me that shadowed bad boy every single time.
Plus when Titus discovered that Wren understood German; brutal and funny!
All the characters seem to have been dealt the worst hand when it comes to parental figures and I’m sure that won’t come back to bite any of them on the 🍑
The ending knocked me for six! So not what I was expecting and now I’m feral for the next book!

I dont even know where to begin but this one knocked my socks off!
Im a lover of academy romances and having the suprises in store at this one was a big one - we all loves some supernatural hero's.
Theres the expected bully dynamic with lots of depth of character personalities clashing and the heroine Wren is such a love you'd be a fool not to adore her.
The book is a really nice size and very adictive making it hard to put down. The pace is great and I'd consider this a semi slow burn.
I love some depth to the story and it has it in abundance. Theres a lovely cliffe at the end but as the authors note says - its a nice cliffe! And I for one can't wait to pick up book 2 and jump off it with Wren and the Guys.
This is a RH with mmfm.

This is the first book in the Meadow Ridge Academy. And I am already hooked on this series! Sara Hinds is a phenomenal author and I loved reading many of the books she has written. So it was no surprise that I would love this book as well!
The FMC is such a pure and beautiful soul. I just want to wrap her in bubble wrap to protect her from the world. The MMCs are hot and so unexpected! They are hot, protective and obsessive. I also forgot to mention they are slightly unhinged. That, to be honest, is my favorite thing about them! They have no Effs to give and I love that!
Thank you, Sara Hinds, for another hot, steamy and incredible series. Her stories and characters just captured my heart. They make you feel sad, mad, frustrated, hot, and so very satisfied…

I’ve absolutely loved this story - it was one of those read where I had to force myself to put it down to do the real life stuff of living (eat, shower, groceries… the boring stuff! 😂).

Wren’s story unfolds with mystery as we meet each of the MMCs along for the ride. MMCs: Julian, Titus, Dimitri, Felix, Nolan and Gavin (honestly least favourite at the moment) all have growth as the story unfolds.

Oh, and as it unfolds, there’s a couple of characters you’d love to reach into the book and punch.

Great snippets of mystery, which leaves you wanting more. The soft’ish cliffhanger - we’ll bring on book 2 now because I just want to know more now!

Potential trigger: There is reflection of past abuse throughout, but not in a graphic way.

Moving in with a group of 4 guys was not on the top on Wrens to do list. But since this is the only option, she does what she can to make the best of it. Finding friendship, and sometimes more, in places she wasn’t expecting. Wren starts to create a support system that will prove essential when her terrorizer comes back for more.

I enjoyed the relationship building with the guys. Sometimes it’s a love to hate type of feeling. But also rooting for them to get themselves together. I loved wrens character and can’t wait to see her growth in the next book! This is a slow burn romance and Wren is taking her time.

That cliffhanger definitely caught me off guard. I can’t wait to read the next book and see what is going to happen. I would definitely recommend this book!
