Racecar driver Celeste Charles loves nothing more than fast cars, but fast men are another story.
She can't figure out why fast-talking, arrogant, Master Mechanic Luke Mathews, with his rugged good looks and killer charm, causes her motor to run so hot.
Luke is one hot rod she has no interest in racing.
When Luke keeps a promise to his grandfather to check on Celeste before the big winter storm hits, the pair finds themselves snowed in at her cabin.
Their dislike of one another takes a steaming turn neither one of them expects.
Very sweet and hot friends to lovers romance short. H/h were both orphans and inseparable from childhood. Now in mid twenties H realizes his feelings for h who is still adorably clueless. H hides it by being grouchy and distant, things come to a head in this novella and leads to a HEA.
2,5 Stars! A sweet short story, with decent plotline and equal parts of sex and feelings. Solid but nothing special.
Luke and Celest share their past, their childhood and of course family in a way. Harry, Luke's grandfather raised them together after the tragic deaths of their parents. After years of being best friends something puts an end to their relationship. Can they move on from that?
I liked it, it's fairly decent and Harry was great. The sex was hot and i always enjoy a story that revolves around cars and snow. The writing was also good.
Sweet and sexy.. a little short lol but really liked it a lot. Friends to lovers.. and they had some sexy scenes all over the place. 100% Safe zone approved.
Celeste and Luke. Childhood friends to lovers trope. But I can't say as I felt the love. Celeste was actually quite impervious to his allure until just before they finally get together. Nope, not feeling that fatalistic draw between the two. Less than 50 pages but still, I've read other short stories that were down right romantic in the same amount of pages. This was not the case. Kind of a case of the author saying it's so but not showing it. Why did Luke marry the bubble bimbo? How did Celeste feel when he marries the bubble bimbo? How could they have not felt a draw when they were teens and all those hormones were carousing through their bloodstream?? Makes me wonder if Celeste is learning disabled to seemingly be emotionally denser than concrete in a Winnipeg winter...
What can I say about a sexy story about a sexy couple who get sexy on the hood of a fast car? Quite a bit. Anna Snow's leading man, Luke Matthews, is tall, strapping, seemingly aloof, arrogant, and did I say strapping? Why I'm interested in this type of character is easy to appreciate...I want to know what makes him tick. What's at the core of his mystery? The leading lady is a strong, Celeste, is fiercely independent and has a little chip on her shoulder. The recent past has slammed a wedge between these two life long friends, threatening to severe their friendship forever. It drives Celeste crazy that Luke clams up around her, gazes over her head, and generally ignores her presence except when they're fighting, of course. But then there's the dark and stormy night...Luke is sent to check in on Celeste during the snow storm. And let's just say these two don't need a blanket, or a fireplace. Holy cow if the hood of that car could talk. It was fun reading how these two steered a course around their issues. Anna gives us a great, fast paced smokin' read. I do appreciate the short story/novella sized reads with my busy schedule. This was perfect. Thanks Anna for yet another tantalizing story.
I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This was a sexy short read and I loved it. Luke Matthews, is tall, handsome, and arrogant. Celeste is a strong and fiercely independent. She has a little bit of an attitude and I loved it. The recent past has caused a rift between these two life long friends, threatening to severe their friendship forever. It drives Celeste crazy that Luke clams up around her, gazes over her head, and generally ignores her presence except when they're fighting. On a dark and stormy night Luke is sent to check in on Celeste during a snow storm. And let's just say these two don't need a blanket, or a fireplace. If the hood of that car could talk we would hear an interesting little tale. It was fun reading how these two skirted around their issues. Anna gives us a great, fast paced read. I really liked this book, I thought it was well written, and the story line was really good. I thought Celeste and Luke had great chemistry. Only thing is I wish it was a little longer, but overall I give this book 4 1/2 stars. I will be reading more from this author!
From the first sentence to the last, I was hooked and didn't put the book down. I loved this short story and only though we get a glance at the characters lives and relationship, it was enjoy to make you love the characters.
I highly recommend this story if you need a good romance book!
Celeste and Luke have been childhood friends. Celeste is a race car driver and so was Luke before he got divorced that's when they broke apart. Can they find each other again
