Oh Olivia, I don’t even know what to say. The last instalment of The Love Hotel series and I am SO sad it’s over.
I cannot fathom how dreamy this series is, this time The Love Hotel series takes us to the absolutely stunning Santorini 😍. If I didn’t already want to go there, reading about it has made that need even bigger!
Noah and Alicia have been best friends since forever. Never anything more, despite them thinking about each other in a romantic way on and off for years. Always dismissing their feelings for each other and telling anyone who will listen how they are just friends and see eachother like siblings.
However, Noah has always been all in for Ali, always. In every capacity but it’s always been an unrequited love experience for him.
Noah and Ali both sign up to an exclusive, discounted version of The Love Hotel. curtesy of them celebrating Stella and Max’s wedding , both are matched with beautiful people (visually) but not necessarily the perfect matches for them.
Adonis gave me the absolute ick, as soon as he was interposed and Kayleigh, well she just threw herself on a plate for Noah and it made me laugh. Chapter 19 was one of the funniest chapters I’ve read and honestly it was a complete combination of utter horror, amusement and genuine shock at what happened 😂 especially the full revelation of Adonis. 🙈👀
The journey from then between Noah and Ali was sweet but ridiculously frustrating at times. The dual POV was excellent at portraying how much they needed their heads banging together! It also made me fall more in love with Santorini and I now must go.
I don’t want to say too much because it will spoil it and you need to read it to fully embrace the story and the impact of it. I loved the ending, I think it tied up everything perfectly and think Ali’s gesture was super cute!
Thank you Olivia for writing such a delightfully romance, spicy and picturesque series.
“More Than Just Friends” is the final book in The Love Hotel series. You could read it as a standalone, I recommend reading the entire series, especially since so many couples from previous books appear. Alicia and Noah, best friends since childhood, haven’t seen each other in over a year. Their lives are set to change when they’re both chosen to meet their matches at The Love Hotel in Santorini, where they’ll also attend Stella and Max’s wedding from Book One. Alicia isn’t expecting the “glow-up” version of Noah. A year has changed him and the attraction between them surprises her (or does it?). They meet their matches, and Adonis seems perfect on paper except she can’t stop comparing him to Noah. Little does Alicia know but Noah is experiencing the same, but they both push on with their matches. Organised dates don’t go as planned, and when a boat trip finds them catching their dates in a very awkward position, they agree to pair up for the rest of the holiday. Being together is easy for them, but what is new territory is the feelings which escalate quickly. They need to decide if this is the time to be more than just friends. As always, Olivia’s writing style hooks me straight away. Her books are easy to read and fun, with a mix of flirty banter and steamy moments, especially the hot tub scene that needed some added music to drown out the groans 😊🌶️ I’m sad the series is over, but it’s been a fun ride. I loved the “Love Hotel” concept and the unique storylines of each couple. Thank you NetGalley, Olivia Spring and Boldwood Books for the ARC, all opinions expressed are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for granting my request to read this e-ARC and provide my honest opinion.
Friends to lovers, unrequited love, pining, “It has always been you” are some of my least favorite tropes, but in More Than Just Friends, I actually liked this combination of tropes cos Ali & Noah are so cute together 💞. And I just loved that this book was set in Santorini (now I want to go see those blue domes myself).
Ali & Noah have been friends forever, and they have both been so unlucky in love. So when the chance comes to travel to the newest Love Hotel in Santorini (a matchmaking hotel, by the way 🏩), both Ali & Noah are not about to miss it. There is something about being secluded in a beautiful town and hotel that just adds to the allure of romance, and I absolutely loved Noah (even though you shouldn’t have pined so hard tbh 😅). Santorini brought Ali & Noah together, but will they take the leap and cross the line from childhood best friends to lovers 🤭?
Overall, this is the first book I am reading by Olivia Spring, and I really enjoyed it! I loved the scenery, the hotel, the titles given to the employees at Love Hotel 😅, and how natural Ali & Noah’s progression from friends to lovers felt 💗.
A sunny, flirty, feel-good read set at a Santorini matchmaking retreat. Alicia reunites with childhood best friend Noah—who’s grown from dork to dreamy—and suddenly the “just friends” line blurs fast.
4 ⭐️ Tropes: dual POV, friends to lovers, forced proximity, matchmaking, Greece setting, he’s been pining
Ali was always unlucky in love—dating jerks and relationships that never turned into anything. And Noah? Noah had been waiting in the background, hoping that one day Ali would finally see him as something more. They had been friends since they were 4 years old, and to Noah, Ali was it. All she had to do was open her eyes.
All it took was an experiment at the Love Hotel in Santorini and an epically failed match for something to finally shift between Ali and Noah.
The way Noah pined for her made me swoon and broke my heart at the same time because I was constantly yelling at Ali to stop being blind 😭 But seeing Noah again after a year, realizing how much she’d missed him—and seeing his glow up—finally made Ali start seeing him differently.
Ali was so scared to let anything happen between them that her fears kept getting the best of her. But when they finally stopped fighting it and let things happen?! It was gone just like that. The tension, chemistry, and connection between them was EVERYTHING because they were just so right for each other.
Ali even realized how things with Noah were different from literally everything and everyone before him.
“With Noah I could just be myself.”
“With Noah, I always felt safe.”
Noah’s patience and devotion absolutely destroyed me. This man had been in love with Ali for years, watching her choose everyone else while hoping that one day she’d choose him.
“I’ve never had women or men queuing up for me.’ ‘I was always in the queue,’ Noah said softly. ‘Waiting and hoping that one day I’d get an invite to leave the friend zone.’”
AND THAT RIGHT THERE 😭 I’m seriously obsessed with Noah! He was so gentle, understanding, and had a deliciously dirty mouth 🥵
“I’ve always liked you, Ali. Watching you with other guys was torture. I always hoped that we’d have a chance”
The way he loved her so quietly for so long was everything. And watching Ali finally realize that Noah had been the person she was looking for all along was so satisfying.
“God. You have no idea how much I’ve wanted you. How much I’ve dreamt about you. You’re the only woman I’ve ever felt that spark with. That pull. It’s always been you, Ali. It’s only ever been you.”
“I couldn’t get enough of him. And it was more than just about the sex. It was the intensity. The connection. Somehow because it was him, it made everything a million times better.”
I absolutely adored Noah and Ali together. They weren’t just about chemistry—they were about feeling safe, understood, and chosen.
“I was so far gone for Ali that there was no coming back from this.”
I have read multiple books by Olivia Spring, and I adored all of the cameos from other characters and couples throughout this book. I love her writing and absolutely loved this story. Highly recommend!
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
☀️💙 Book Review: More Than Just Friends by Olivia Spring 💙
This book felt like a vacation to Greece wrapped up in a friends-to-lovers romance, and I absolutely adored every minute of it! 🇬🇷🏖️🍹
As someone who is Greek, this story held such a special place in my heart. The descriptions of Santorini transported me right back to Greece—the stunning blue waters, whitewashed buildings, breathtaking sunsets, delicious food, and the warmth of the people. I could practically feel the sea breeze while reading. 💙🤍🌊🏛️
At its heart, this is a beautiful friends-to-lovers story between Alicia and Noah. After spending a year apart, they reunite at the Love Hotel in Santorini, expecting to be matched with their "perfect" partners. The only problem? The more time they spend with their matches, the more obvious it becomes that the person they've been looking for has been standing right in front of them all along. 🥹💕
And can we talk about Noah's glow-up? 😮💨🔥 Alicia wasn't prepared for it, and honestly, neither was I. The awkward best friend she always knew has grown into a confident, charming man whose slow smiles and quiet devotion completely stole my heart. Watching their friendship evolve into something deeper felt natural, emotional, and incredibly swoony.
What I loved most was the history between them. Their connection wasn't built overnight—it was years of friendship, trust, inside jokes, and knowing each other better than anyone else. Every lingering look, accidental touch, and late-night conversation had me kicking my feet and rooting for them. 🥰✨
The Love Hotel matchmaking experiment added such a fun twist to the story. It was hilarious watching the "perfect" matches fall apart while Noah and Alicia slowly realized that maybe algorithms don't always know best. 😂💘
✨ Tropes: 💙 Friends to Lovers ☀️ Santorini Setting 💕 Childhood Best Friends 🔥 Slow Burn Chemistry 🍹 Forced Proximity ✨ Matchmaking Gone Wrong ❤️ Found Your Person All Along
The perfect balance of humor, heart, romance, and spice made this one impossible to put down. And the Greek setting? Absolute perfection. As a fellow Greek reader, it felt like coming home and brought back so many wonderful memories. 🇬🇷💙
Final Thoughts: If you love friends-to-lovers romances filled with tension, laughter, beautiful scenery, and a hero who's been in love all along, More Than Just Friends is a must-read. Olivia Spring delivered a story that was sweet, funny, romantic, and made me want to book a flight to Santorini immediately. ✈️☀️🌊💙
More Than Just Friends follows childhood best friends, Alicia and Noah. Unfortunately, both have been pretty unlucky in love, so what do they do? Take the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Santorini and stay at the infamous Love Hotel, undergoing a shortened version of the esteemed matchmaking process.
Separately, of course hehe.
Only because Alicia is convinced that Noah purely like a brother to her. They couldn't possibly be more than friends, while ding bat Noah over here is so obsessed he's convinced nothing can be done about it. It also doesn't help that Ali has borderline friend-zoned him.
But, all will be well when the Love Hotel finds their perfect matches! As long as it's not each other.
Now the story is quick, fun, and easy to read.
What I liked: - As someone who visually sees the books play out while reading, I do enjoy Olivia Spring's writing style. It's straighforward and delivered so conversationally that I can't help but feel like I'm reading the script for a show like Emily in Paris or The Bold Type! -Big shout out to Adonis. He was so funny to me. Greek god with a severe god complex HA his characte had me shaking with laughter. - This is the 6th book in a series of interconnected standalones, so I loved seeing characters from previous books pop up! Those little cameos make it feel so tied together.
What I didn't necessarily like: - This is so a me thing, but miscommunication is one of my least favorite things to discover while reading a book. Especially when it's in the form of best friends who just won't talk/say what's on their minds/or ask clarifying questions and instead, jump to their own conclusions. Again, me thing! It didn't take away from the book at all. If anything, it all makes more sense later down the line as I got the know the characters more. - Also just me being nitpicky. I get the characters need to be in denial about their feelings for this trope and storyline to work, buuuut, for what they each overheard the other saying in the past regarding their reasonings for not being interested in the other romantically? Big whomp. Like, of course i'd be convinced we could never be more than friends after hearing you say that! My feelings would have been massively hurt. BUT, thats lil ole softie me.
Overall, I had a good time with this book! Olivia's writing is extremely consistent and makes it so that you can't help but fall in love with watching her characters fall in love. The MMCs are always soooo down bad, I love it. I'll definitely stick around for more even though this one may not be my most favorite!
More than Just Friends by Olivia Spring was a sweet, fun, and very vacation-worthy friends-to-lovers romance.
The story follows Alicia and Noah, childhood best friends who have always insisted they are just friends, even though there has clearly been something more simmering under the surface. When they both end up at The Love Hotel in Santorini, they are technically there to be matched with other people. The problem is, the more time they spend with their “perfect” matches, the more obvious it becomes that maybe the person they really want has been right in front of them all along.
I really enjoyed the Santorini setting. The beautiful scenery, the hotel, the romantic atmosphere, and the whole matchmaking setup made the book feel like a little escape. It definitely had that light, summery, vacation romance feeling that makes you want to book a trip immediately.
Noah was probably my favorite part of the story. I liked how steady and devoted he was, and I always enjoy a friends-to-lovers romance where one character has been quietly pining for a long time. His connection with Alicia felt natural because of their history, inside jokes, and comfort with each other.
Alicia and Noah had good chemistry, and I liked watching them slowly realize what everyone else could already see. Their fake “perfect” matches added some funny and awkward moments, and I thought the matchmaking-gone-wrong setup made the story entertaining. There were definitely times where I wanted them to just be honest with each other already, but that is also part of the fun with this trope.
That being said, the story was a little predictable, and some of the back-and-forth between Alicia and Noah felt frustrating at times. I still enjoyed the journey, but I did feel like certain moments could have moved along a bit faster.
Overall, More than Just Friends was a cute and enjoyable romance with a gorgeous setting, fun banter, and a sweet best-friends-to-lovers storyline. It was light, romantic, and easy to read, and I think fans of vacation romances and “it was always you” love stories will really enjoy it.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an advanced. copy in exchange for an honest review.
Alicia and Noah are best friends who apply and both end up getting chosen to go on a trip to Santorini to find love. Although they are best friends, they haven't seen each other in a year. Alicia thinks it's because Noah is insecure about his appearance, but the truth is that he has had feelings for her for a long time and needed the space to try to rid him of his crush. Though they are matched with other people, sparks fly as soon as they're reunited, but both refuse to give in, or even acknowledge, that something is happening between them. But how long can that really last?
The will they/won't they is STRONG with this one! There were so many almosts before anything actually happened so by the time it finally did I felt like I'd been on a marathon!
I don't know if I have a favorite trope, but friends to lovers is definitely high up there. Alicia and Noah have years and years of friendship between them, and I love how Noah was portrayed to be more of the yearner. I also love how, apart from his feelings for Alicia, he's just an overall good guy and a really good friend. I truly felt like a lot of the sweet things he did for her he would do for any of his friends, and that's a tribute to really good character building. It's so easy to root for him to get the girl, and to root for him and Alicia as a couple.
Alicia is also just really likable as a character. You just want her to find love! And at times you want to shake her like girl, it's been right in front of you the WHOLE time! Open your eyes!
Though this is a dual POV, I will say that the focus is definitely more on Alicia's side so if there's any actual critique I have for this book, it's that I wish Noah's chapters were longer so that we got equal time in his head and Alicia's.
Also should note that this is book 6(!) in a series and even though I haven't read any of the others, now I want to!! It works totally fine as a standalone.
If you're looking for your summer 2026 beach read...this is the one!
Friends-to-lovers is already dangerous territory for me because there’s something deeply unfair about two people spending years saying “we’re just friends” while apparently ignoring every romantic comedy in existence.
This one was such an easy, fun read. Santorini as a setting already feels like romance is operating with an unfair advantage — sunshine, cocktails, sunsets, and two childhood best friends being forced to spend time together? The atmosphere was doing a lot of heavy lifting in the best way.
What I liked most was the setup between Alicia and Noah. The whole “best friend you haven’t seen in a year suddenly returns looking suspiciously better than your memory remembered” situation feels like a uniquely cruel experience. Because now you’re not only dealing with unresolved feelings, you’re also trying to behave normally while your brain quietly starts malfunctioning.
And honestly, the matchmaking experiment added a fun layer to the story. There’s something very entertaining about watching characters get paired with people who are technically perfect on paper while very obviously being distracted by someone else entirely. Romance novels continue making an excellent case for chemistry over algorithms.
I also appreciated that the emotional shift seemed to happen through smaller moments — conversations, closeness, all those tiny interactions that suddenly become very inconvenient once feelings get involved. Friends-to-lovers really survives on emotional tension, and this delivered that "wait... have we always been like this?" energy so well.
Overall, this felt warm, romantic, and exactly the kind of book that makes you irrationally invested in fictional people realizing what everybody else figured out several chapters ago. Which, admittedly, remains one of my favorite forms of entertainment.
I really enjoyed “Regret This Later” and found myself surprisingly invested in the whole Love Hotel concept. One of my favorite things about that book was seeing the success stories unfold, so I was excited to return to this world. As soon as I read the description and saw that this one featured a friends-to-lovers romance, I knew it would be right up my alley.
I liked Alicia and Noah immediately. Even though I have not read “Too Hard to Resist,” I had no trouble connecting with Ali and her story. Friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes because of all the history and emotional depth that comes with it, and this book delivered on that. It was easy to see how much these two cared about each other, even when they were trying to convince themselves otherwise. I especially enjoyed watching them reconnect after spending time apart and realizing that their friendship might be something more.
Noah was definitely the standout character for me. While Ali sometimes struggled to figure out exactly what she wanted, I never doubted Noah's feelings. There was something so endearing about his patience and the way he showed up for her throughout the story. I also have to admit that several of the matchmaking twists completely caught me off guard. There were a few moments where I was genuinely shocked by how things played out.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. The Santorini setting made me want to book a trip immediately, and I loved spending more time in the Love Hotel world. I am honestly a little sad that this is the final book in the series. It has definitely convinced me to go back and read the books I missed, and I hope some of these characters pop up in future Olivia Spring stories.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**
I love me some friends to lovers and More than Just Friends didn't disappoint, bringing to life another pictures and colorful place of the world, like only Spring can do, i couldn't help but to feel transported to greece with the characters of the books, I feels kinda sad to say goodbye to the Love Hotel Series, but so satisfying to have read them and travel with them thru the pages.
~Blurb~ After distance pulled them apart, best friends Alicia and Noah are finally getting to see each other again. And what better place to reconnect than the Love Hotel in Santorini? Sunshine, sunsets, cocktails… her childhood bestie… and her so-called perfect match. Eight days of pure bliss.
Except Alicia wasn’t ready for Noah’s glow-up. A year apart has turned him from geek to god, and her heart can’t keep up. Broad shoulders, slow, wicked smiles, and a subtle confidence that makes her pulse spike every time he’s near. While the hotel’s matchmaking experiment pairs them with other people who tick every box, Alicia can’t stop comparing or fantasizing about the one man she shouldn’t.
But it isn’t long before their supposedly perfect matches implode in spectacularly awkward ways. Instead of disappointment, Ali can’t stop noticing Noah. Late-night confessions, clumsy touches, and way-too-close moments begin to blur the lines.

💭 My Thoughts 💭
As always with the love hotel series I throughly enjoyed this read from the beginning right through to the end.
Noah and Alicia were wonderful to get to know. I loved their rich history as childhood friends. Fully rooting for them both throughout. Each matched with quite awful people at the hotel. Adonis I realised he would be bad from the start I had got really slime-ball vibes.
All the side characters were amazing too especially Sammie I just love her and she’s the best big sister to Alicia. If I had a sister in real life I would want it to be Sammie. She was so caring and funny towards her sibling. In this book we also get to meet back up with so many of the previous love hotel occupants which I just adored getting snippets of what everyone had been up-to since they had checked out of there retrospective hotels and destinations.
Lastly Santorini was the most perfect destination for this edition to be set in. It felt so romantic and dreamy as the location.
More Than Just Friends is the perfect ending to what has been a wonderful series. I came into it halfway and need to read 1,2,3 which are already loaded on my kindle when I get chance to pick them up I will for sure. I’m so sad there will be no more of this series but it was ended and rounded off perfectly. Well Done Olivia on a great final instalment.
These can definitely be read as standalone’s too so please don’t be put off by it being a series.
I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher, for which I thank them.
“More Than Just Friends” is by Olivia Spring. This book is technically book six in the “Love Hotel” series, but it can be read as a stand-alone book, though I do strongly encourage reading the previous books in the series for some background material as some past names are dropped in this book. For me, this book was well done - I liked the two main characters, Ali and Noah. I do wish that gorgeous Santorini had been played up a bit more, but that’s the armchair traveler in me wishing for a longer and more through vicarious trip. In this story, Ali and Noah are on “discount” Love Hotel options (new twist) and their matches are, well, interesting. Ali is paired with Adonis, who literally gave me the ick factor. Noah is paired with Kayleigh, who on paper should’ve worked, but - well, read Chapter 19 for the full details. I did like the dual POV from Ali and Noah, though the miscommunication I thought was a bit, well, immature - and the reason for not talking I found a bit -okay, a lot - immature. Overall, if you’ve enjoyed this series, I think you’ll enjoy this book. For me, it was a strong way to end the series, but it wasn’t as strong as her first book, though it was still enjoyable. Overall, 3.5 stars, bumped up to 4 stars.
I recently wrapped up "More Than Just Friends" by Olivia Spring. This is the sixth and last installment in her 'Love Hotel' series, and also my first time diving into her work. The story takes us all the way to beautiful Santorini, where childhood besties Alicia and Noah are paired up with the wrong partners at a luxury matchmaking hotel and eventually end up realizing their love and attraction for each other, which both of them had kept on denying for years.
There is a lot to appreciate about the author's writing style. It's incredibly breezy and easy-to-read, with snappy pacing and modern dialogue. Reading the descriptions of the settings felt like an instant vacation, with the beauty of Santorini emphasized nicely throughout the book.
However, the plot and the character development took a backseat to the spice, which was kind of a letdown for me. I was really hoping for more emotional depth and backstory to anchor the lifelong friendship between Ali and Noah, rather than focusing so heavily on the superficial attraction between the leads. I'm starting to think I might just not be a pop-romance girlie after all!
That being said, if you love a quick, funny contemporary romance with a gorgeous exotic holiday setting and plenty of heat, you will absolutely love this read!
More Than Just Friends by Olivia Spring is the sixth and final book in the Love Hotel series. It does work as a standalone, but in all honesty, you should read the entire series because it is completely wonderful!
In this book, Alicia and her best friend since she was four, Noah both apply for a matchmaking holiday at the newest Love Hotel in Santorini, Greece. Throughout their lives, they have had crushes on one another but have always friend-zoned one another. In part their reluctance to tkae it any further was out of fear of ruining their friendship. In recent years Noah has come to the realisation that the only person who is perfect for him is Alicia, or Ali, but she is determined not to do anything to ruin the friendship. Miscommunication caused them both to think that the other would never see them as more than just friends. I really loved their friendship, they were so in tune with one another,
I found Adonis, Ali’s match at the Love Hotel, unintentionally hilarious, and totally cringeworthy! There were some very funny moments in the story, mostly caused inadvertently by Adonis. I was a little frustrated with just how much Ali allowed Adonis to take charge, but given her history of choosing men who were not the best, it was also understandable that she would allow it.
The wedding of Stella and Max at the end of the week was wonderful for lovers of the entire series, with the arrival of some much loved characters. See! Another reason to tap into the whole series!
The locations of the Love Hotels have all been gorgeous and ending the series with Santorini seemed so fitting as it is such a well known location for destination weddings.
If you like your romance books spicy and incredibly funny in a beautiful and luxurious setting, then look no further, More Than Just Friends will tick every box!
This one had a really fun setup, and I was so here for the Santorini setting and the whole Love Hotel concept. That idea had a ton of potential, and the first half especially leaned into that light, playful, slightly chaotic energy really well. 💛
The chemistry between Ali and Noah was there, and you can absolutely see why they work. They know each other so deeply, and there were moments where that connection really landed.
But the friends-to-lovers dynamic didn’t fully work for me here. Ali’s resistance felt frustrating at times, especially with how long Noah had clearly been invested, and the imbalance between them made it harder to root for their relationship. I also wish we had seen more of them actually together as a couple, it felt like they didn’t really get the chance to fully be in it before things were already complicated again.
Overall, I liked the concept and parts of the execution, but the relationship dynamic kept this from fully landing for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This latest book in the Love hotel series follows Alicia and Noah and the tension in this book was insane! 😍 I had such a good time reading this and was fully sucked into the story while I was reading it. I loved the setting for Santorini and the writing made it easy to imagine the scenes in my head and how beautiful everything looked. Alicia has been unlucky in love and has high hopes for the Love Hotel and is initially matched with Adonis who just personally didn't seen right from the start - his behaviour would have riled me right up 😂 Noah has been pining after Alicia for over 20 years and has even gone as far as moving further away to try and stop his feelings. Him and his match at the Love Hotel seemed so lovely but he just couldn't shake his feelings in the end. Seeing Alicia and Noah slowly realise the others feelings and how they come together was a delight to read. The obvious love between them, the spice and seeing how Noah has been there for Alicia through her darkest days made this a lovely read and kept me reading to see how they would work out! 💕
Just finished “More than friends” which is the last installment of the Love Hotel series. I have read all the books in the series, out of order but still read them and honestly you don’t have to read them in order they are all standalone interconnected. All these books make me want to put down a deposit in order to go to the Love Hotel in a beautiful locale in find the love of my life.
But anyways this takes place at the Love Hotel in the beautiful romantic island of Santorini in Greece. When the FMC, Alicia, gets a rare opportunity to go to the Love Hotel and get matched at a discounted rate she knows that it is her time and she convinces her best friend from such a young age, Noah, the MMC to apply to. They both get to go and get matched with different people that on the surface seem great for them but as the story and drama continues you find out that their matches are not the best for them.
Through this process and the romantic setting of Santorini they two friends have their friendship blossom to more than just friends. But now the question is will it last or will it just be a vacation fling?
I love how there are cameos of characters from the other books in the Love Hotel series. Such a quick summer rom com. Not my favorite in this series but still very good.
The only drawback was the use of a lot of English (from England) slang and references. I feel like this occurred more in this book than the others and a few I had to look up.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It is the first one I read from the author and the series "the hotel series". This is book 6 in the series and I think it can be read as an standalone ✨
I loved the ambiance (as if it were in mamma mia 😭). I really liked the characters, although sometimes I got nervous because it was like, kiss now please 😮💨! Alicia, has put me on my nerves (a lot) for always saying or repeating the same thing over and over agian "it's going to ruin our friendship" and it was like please not again hahaha. But, I must say, I liked and understand her. Noah, I find it very sweet and protective with Alicia. A golden retriever if you ask me. I just wanted to congratulate him cause that man loving the SAME woman for that long and not telling her😃
I just love the friends to lovers trope so much and I think the author has been able to take it well since it can be complicated to develop this trope.
Thank you Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC!
4/5 ⭐️
What are you going to find?: 🩵 Friends to lovers (childhood) 🩵 Holiday romance (aka Santorini) 🩵 Slow burn
I keep saying this with every book in this series, but it’s true — each one ends up being my new favorite. Noah and Alicia were no exception.
I loved that they’ve been best friends for so long, and that there were moments in the past where they both wanted more but the timing never worked out. When they both get picked to go to the Love Hotel for a wedding and to get matched, they each end up with people who are clearly not right for them. It’s obvious to everyone around them that they should be together instead.
I also liked that Alicia didn’t want to risk their friendship and held back on admitting her feelings, so it took a little time before anything happened. But there’s just too much history and chemistry between them, and once they finally say how they feel, it’s game on.
And like always, one of my favorite parts of this series is getting to see all the other couples again.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing me an e-arc in change for an honest review.
I am really enjoying the The Hotel Series, becoming a favourite of mine! I enjoyed this so much, couldn’t put the book down, read in one sitting. This was a perfect Friends to lovers book.
After being friends since they were children Alicia and Noah hadn’t seen each other in over a year… after both being unlucky in love they had signed up to the love hotel after the success Alicia’s sister had previously.
Whilst they aren’t matched with each other at the love hotel they reconnect and sparks finally start to fly!
I really enjoyed the setting of this book and how well it followed on from the previous books in the series including characters from the other books and giving updates on how they are getting on.
Highly recommend this book and the series as a whole!
I am a fan of the Love Hotel. I have read books 1-5 so most of the characters are familiar to me and I know their backstory. I would love to visit one of the hotels should they be real but is it open to regular people who are not looking for matchmaking?
Back to the book, realising that the usual plans are not that affordable to the general public, the price of matchmaking for a shorter stay has come down a little in a trial, for friends and family of staff. Of course the best friends from young meet up at the hotel and I actually thought they would be paired off from the start, but they didn't, unfortunately, but it was clear they cared for each other alot.
I am very glad for happy endings - so I am now waiting for book 7 eagerly after devouring this episode!
What a great way to end this series! I’ve only read a few of the books, but I really enjoyed this one. The concept of a luxury hotel where guests are matched and then participate in activities and excursions together to get to know one another takes matchmaking to a whole new level. Honestly, I wish something like this existed in real life because I would absolutely sign up for that experience!
I seriously loved these characters. Best friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and I knew this story was going to be emotional and steamy. And by emotional, I mean actual tears. Noah and Alicia were absolutely perfect together!
As sad as I am to say goodbye to a series I’ve enjoyed, I loved the way the author wrapped everything up with these two. There was nothing overly complicated about their story—just a beautiful romance filled with love, heart, and the perfect ending.
Friends to lovers spicy rom com set in Greece? Say less! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Friends to lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes! I absolutely loved spending time with Noah and Ali. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity when they are both invited to the iconic Love Hotel for a chance to find their forever love. ❤️ There’s a bit of a twist since they are matched with other people. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When things go off the rails, they get to spend the rest of the trip together. Seeing their relationship evolve was everything! 🥰🥰🥰 You can just feel their chemistry sparking off the pages! I fell in love with them and their romantic adventures are full of unforgettable moments! Olivia has such an expert way of creating spicy rom coms that are so delightful and impossible to put down! 😍😍😍
Thank you so much Boldwood Books and Olivia Spring for the arc!
OBSESSED! i am absolutely gutted that this was the last book in this series because it has been one of my favorites, and if im correct the only series I have ever finished! 😍 The characters in these books are so real to me, I feel that if I were to get into my car and drive to any of these destinations, I would be able to meet them! Reading this book was so bittersweet, we got to see characters from the other books and find out what they had been up to. I will never recover from this series. Olivia Spring knows exactly what she was doing when she wrote these. In my opinion, everyone needs to be picking this book up specifically, but the whole series. If you love friends to lovers, destination romance, and a whole lot of spice, you need to be reading this book.
Thanks to @Boldwoodbooks and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
GIRL. STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING. 🚨✈️ Olivia Spring is back with More Than Just Friends, and I am officially a puddle on the floor. My emotional stability? Gone. My standards? Sky-high. My ticket to Santorini? Currently searching for flights. 😭🌊 We need to talk about Noah. Because a year apart turned this man from a cute, harmless geek into an absolute, certified, walking DEITY. Broad shoulders? Check. A slow, wicked smile that should come with a government health warning? Check. Alicia’s heart rate never stood a single chance, and honestly, neither did mine. 🥵🔥 So they end up at the Love Hotel—aka the epicenter of chaotic sexual tension. The hotel tries to play Cupid with a matchmaking algorithm, pairing them with other people. 🤖❌ And let me tell you, watching those "perfect matches" implode in spectacularly awkward fashion was pure, unadulterated cinema. 🍿😂 Once the distractions are out of the way, the lines don’t just blur—they get completely obliterated. Late-night confessions, "accidentally" close touches, and the kind of heavy, delicious anticipation that makes you want to scream into your pillow. 🫠🛌 It’s hilarious, it’s gorgeous, and the spice? Honey, call the fire department. 🚒💨 The algorithm completely botched it, because these two have been endgame since day one. If you love the friends-to-lovers trope dialed up to a solid 11, do your soul a favor and read this immediately! The Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Duh) The Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (Evaporated my water intake for the day)
Allie and Noah have been best friends FOREVER. Naturally, Noah has been in love with Allie for almost as long. He's been firmly in the friend zone for the same amount of time. He even moved to try to move on. A matchmaking, wedding getaway brings them together for the first time in a long time and Allie finds herself attracted to Noah. They are supposed to be matched with other people, but end up going on excursions with each other instead. Everyone can see what they are to each other except Allie. Allie is extremely frustrating and nervous that they're going to ruin the friendship. Your heart goes out to Noah over and over. Eventually this friends to lovers works, but it's a little slow to start with some scenery mixed in

The latest and sixth book in The Love Hotel series checked all the boxes for an amazing friends to lovers situation. The slow burn only added to the draw.
Alicia and Noah have known each other pretty much their entire lives but have denied their mutual attraction throughout the years. Insert one short getaway to the newest hotel in the Love Hotel line, this time in Santorini, and the magic unfolds. Slowly. So very slowly. But not slow enough that the book starts to lose interest, just enough that you cheer when they finally give in to their wants.
This is the kind of book to read when you want something quick and light while still having a plot and character development.
Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this ARC.
This is another instalment in The Love Hotel series.
It is a great friends to lovers story of Alicia and Noah. Best friends since childhood who were pining for each other for years but were too afraid to act on it.
The story is set against beautiful Santorini, best friends matched with other people...what could go wrong?
I really enjoyed this story., it was sweet, romantic and steamy. everything what you want from Olivia Spring's books.
