A very hot, sexy long-story with a historical setting and very modern dialogue and attitudes. Whenever I read a historical piece, I like the language and mores to be included. This story felt as if it was modern-day and only had historical window dressing. Otherwise, I liked the it, and though it did not have much a lot of plot, it felt good.

Elisabeth/Lissa is rather silly and Jasper has a tragic case of insta-lurv/lust for her. He's downright creative in convincing her she wants him and to stick around. Otherwise, her family --except for her younger sister--are all despicable. This includes the would-be suitor, William. What creep!

If you ignore the historical inaccuracy and the fact that Lissa is irritating and rather silly, then you will enjoy reading this smutty kink-ish tale that is only historical in appearance and attire.

A pretty good read...

I don’t read historical romance... at all, so I can’t judge this book based on that. BUT if you’re looking for a quickie forced marriage set in the past where this sort of thing was old news, then this story is for you!

Becoming lady thomas by K. webster is a waste of time. It was hot, the chemistry and the sex scenes were really hot but the heroine is so stupid. The story is about Elizabeth something something ( i forgot the name), she was supposed to marry her childhood love william but her father fucks up big time and now to pay his debt, she has to marry Jasper Thomas. He takes her to his house against her will and she makes a deal, that she wont sleep with him and if she wins then he has to let her go and if he wins then she ll be in wife. Now 2 seconds after making the deal, she rides his finger and kisses him. Why make the deal in the first place.

One very important question since i dont know many things about history, were words like “sexy, and fuck toys” used back in the day? Cuz this book really didnt seem like a historical romance. 😬anyway, in two days they fall in love and Elizabeth forgets about her old love William....in 2 days cuz Jasper is good with his and and mouth. What a love story is it. 😶😶

I don't read historical ...ever!!
BUT Boy O Boy !
How hawwwt is this book . Elizabeth loves young William, but Franklin , her father, is under crushing debt. Lord Jasper Thomas seizes this opportunity to gab Elizabeth in lieu of his debt.
Jasper is Hot, sexy, dangerous and decadent

Unlike William, who smells sweet, this man smells different. His scent is dangerous. Intriguing. Decadent. The way my mouth waters in his presence is further proof of my being ill

He takes her to London and owns her. She soon falls in love with him .
this book is pure unadulterated Lust and Passion .
MotherSizzling Hot Book

“Your lips, Lissa,” he groans and sucks one between his teeth before continuing. “Your lips are like the finest of delicacies. I could feast upon them for hours.”
Read it with panties off!!!!!!

So, this book is set in the Regency Era. It's a historical, yes, and I honestly don't expect a historical paper, but I do think it needs to have some accurancy. Words like "sexy" were not used back then, and people didn't speak like we do today. Of course I also don't want a book in old-spoken English, but having characters in the past speak like they were in a contemporary romance bothered me.

Speaking of that, I had a hard time believeing it is a "historical" novella. And I'll use the term "historical" very loosely here. Women didn't go to university and they certainly not sleep around (specially when everyone knew and they were still considered "ladies").

I really really like K. Webster's writing, but this book didnmt do it for me.

Wow! K. Webster has stepped out of the box and jumped into the world of historical romance. It’s not easy to make that transition but she has done a fantastic job. This is the first book is a novella series and I can’t wait for the rest!
Elisabeth is in love with her childhood sweetheart. He is sweet, loving, and kind. Although, when he left for school and didn’t return as promised, it put a strain on relationship. But, now he is back, ready to take the next step with her. Something has changed, but Elisabeth doesn’t think much on it, rather she simply accepts the path she has laid out for herself, convinced it will make her happy.
Jaz is a law unto himself. He answers to nobody, rules with complete control, and takes what he wants. Confronting a man that owes him money, he glimpses a portrait of his three daughter. Now, it’s Elisabeth that he wants and he is determined to have her. In exchange for erasing his debt the man offers up Jaz pick of his daughters to marry.
Elisabeth never imagines that he would choose her, so when he makes his choice clear, she is shocked and desperate to escape. Jaz is intimidating, handsome, and he makes her feel things that are foreign and seem, well, quite naughty. Her attempts to avoid him are futile as he simply scoops her up and installs her into his home.
Their relationship is so much fun to read as it grows. These two volley for power in a war of words, however Elisabeth is quickly losing her footing because her body seems to be on Jaz’s side.
This is a novella and therefore a very quick read. I could have read an entire full length novel about these two. Their story is engaging, funny, and full of passion and fire. In the end, despite the fabulous HEA, I was sad to see them go. However, hopefully I’ll get to revisit them from time to time in the next two books of the series.
K. Webster has done a fabulous job breaking out of her typical genre and I applaud her for taking the risk and succeeding so beautifully.

“You’re a prisoner to my affection. A slave to your own mutual craving. Together, we are shackled by two hearts that only beat with vigor when the other is near.”

the amount of drama that happened in this novella really put me off. its literally a 100 pages of bla bla bla bla bark bark woof woof. idk if you understand me, i wouldn't blame you.

the smut was GOOD tho. so if you don't care about anything but smut then go ahead and read LMAO.

I was gifted a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

“You’re a unique and polished ruby that I was lucky enough to stumble upon. l’ll never let you slip away.”

I have fallen in love with historical romance! K. Webster has enamored me in the past with her contemporary romance and paranormal romance novels. Now, she has added another genre to her repertoire and I am, once again, captivated by her ability to tell a tale, regardless of the classification.

“Honeysuckle, don’t you see? You’re a prisoner to my affection. A slave to your own mutual craving. Together we are shackled by two hearts that only beat with vigor when the other is near.”

Becoming Lady Thomas begins with the story of Elisabeth and William. Theirs is a sweet and innocent love. She has pined over him, and he has loved her and longed for so much more. But, he is departing for school, and as a consequence their relationship is placed on hold until he can return. Soon, we watch as Elisabeth is counting the days for his return, and now he is ready to give her everything. However, upon his return, both of their worlds are turned upside down due to the selfishness of Elisabeth’s father that is unveiled. Because of this, Jasper is introduced into picture. He is a man of power, intent on getting what he wants. He wants Elisabeth, craves her, and has done everything possible to ready himself for her arrival. She is unsure of this change in life, but must fulfill the promise made by her father in order to save her family. This story takes us straight from low to high and then back again as we experience the fear, skepticism, awakening, and euphoria that develops between Jasper and Elisabeth, stirring our emotions and making our cravings for the characters (especially Jasper) increase.

“One day soon I shall leave love notes from my mouth all over her body.”

Reading Becoming Lady Thomas was absolutely orgasmic. Small feelings and sensations turned into deeper yearnings. Soon those feelings began to build and I wanted the story to go faster, but also wished for it to slow down so I could enjoy the euphoria of the climb. I was a voyeur in Elisabeth and Jasper’s world. Watching every move in anticipation of the next, my insides crying, "More, more!!”, until I was finally overtaken with a release that flooded me!  As hot as some parts were, there were others that were filled with that same level of tenderness and sweetness. At one point, I was enraptured as the swell of passion rose again and I was caught up in their love making as they communed intimately with one another, winding their heartstrings together in an unbreakable cord. The additional storylines of other characters added to the story’s overall complexity and raised my anticipation for possible later books. Becoming Lady Thomas was a well-written and beautifully crafted story by K Webster that has undoubtedly launched her into a new genre.

An inspiring quote that stuck with me after reading...

Kız inat etmeye çalışıyor ama nah edebiliyor adam the sex god, adam the cunt absorbent!

Oh my goodness sakes! Author K does it again and again and again!! I don't think it's possible for her to write a bad book no matter what genre it is! I fell in love with this book from the beginning! The characters are extremely dynamic and you can't help but connect with them and want more! Jasper is a little hottie that's demanding and oh so assertive! He takes what he wants and leaves you begging for more! Elisabeth is so meek at first and blossoms into a firecracker. I really can't say enough good things about it! Way to go Author K! Your amazing!!!

This one of the most beautiful historical romances I've read in a while!!! K. Webster just keeps on leaving me with my jaw hanging open. It's like I'm transported to where each book takes place. The characters I LOVED and I cannot wait for the books following. And the male lead was O M G!! I don't blush.... And I just couldn't stop doing so with this book. I felt like a naughty teen for reading. Lol. Becoming Lady Thomas is a MUST READ!!

Solid 3.5* Honeysuckle Deliciousness

Set in an ambiguous Regency period is the closest thing to a historical romance you'll recognize in Lord Jasper Thomas and Miss Elisabeth Merriweather's world, so don't expect reasearched-based storytelling here. The dialect phrasing teeters between charmingly cheesy and garishingly modern, while the implausible, forced circumstances between our H/h are wholey inappropriate for any historical read.
Not remotelyAusten-like at all...
still I enjoyed all it's delightful push and pull decedance!
“Oh, God!” she cries out in pleasure. "Don’t call for him,” I growl, “because what I want to do to you is sinful.”
Pure delicious, erotic fantasy scenerios abound...
like the ones you fall into a dreamy sleep with...
if smexy historical reads are your go-to happy place.
Which mine are ;)
And that cover fits so well with our curious Ladyship!
Oh, yes. I'll be reading more by this author and this series!

4.5 Honeysuckle Stars
ARC received from the very funny author for an honest review (and I'm thinking to make it up to me after making me cry without warning)

"Honeysuckle, don't you see? You're a prisoner to my affection. A slave to your own mutual craving. Together, we are shackled by two hearts that only beat with vigor when the other is near."

What in the holy hotness did you just give me to read, K. Webster?! Now, I've read maybe a handful of historical romances since I was in high school. Although it's not exactly a hot favorite genre of mine, I do enjoy a good ol' Lady and Lord, Duke and Duchess once in a while. It's like reading a history book but with romance, you know?

Becoming Lady Thomas, though, was one super hot quickie, as I'd like to describe it. It's really that -- it's super, it's fan-yourself-hot, and it's a quickie read. The author succeeded in making my shattered heart be whole and on fire with how much sexiness there is in this book!

Elisabeth Merriweather has been in love with William since they were young, or so she thought it was love. I didn't really have any love for that guy and maybe that's why I like that K. Webster wrote him in such a way that would make the readers appreciate Lord Thomas way more. When William left for university, he made a promise that once he finishes, he and Elisabeth will marry. That is until Elisabeth's father fell into a huge debt to Lord Thomas and the only way to pay him off is by the Lord marrying one on the Merriweather girls of his choosing.

When Lord Jasper Thomas laid his eyes on a portrait of Elisabeth, he was a goner. He knew who he wants and he wants to get her. Own her. Elisabeth and Jasper's chemistry is explosive. Every time Jasper opens his mouth, it's like he's saying words made for orgasm. Lord Thomas is like a... historical alpha caveman! I liked how Elisabeth kept resisting their pull but always end up giving in to what her body and heart want, and that is Jasper and his touch. But he's not just all about the sex, he's also about really caring and being protective of Elisabeth and her welfare. He's actually pretty sweet if you look deeper into what he's showing and how he's acting.

I enjoyed Elisabeth and Jasper's story because even though it was a quick read, the story was there, the romance was there, even the frustrating side characters were present.

On to Elisabeth's sister's, Edith, story?

Recommended to: Fans of historical romance or if you're looking for a quick read, this one is a good bet!
Series: Yes. Interconnected characters.
POV: First person. Dual POV.
Extra Comment: Even if I didn't care much for Edith, I'm looking forward to her story.

Naaaaaaa

I rarely DNF a book but I was prepared to make an exception for this book.
I like the contemporaries written by this author- they are saucy, contemporary and engaging. But this was supposed to be a historical romance. Sadly Ms Webster's grasp of the historical setting is tenuous to put it mildly. There were so many anachronisms I almost stopped noticing - but clothing was a real standout -knickers, bow ties,trousers..... The conversation was utterly 20th century. Stick to contemporary fiction.

This book completely blew me away. Let me start off by saying that I've never really been into Historical Romance, so I wasn't really sure if I would be into this or not. Boy, am I glad I decided to give it a try. When I finished, my first thought was, "Is there anything K. Webster can't do?" She made me a fan. Completely won me over.

Becoming Lady Thomas is a quick read, at 101 pages, but don't let that fool you. This book has everything! Becoming Lady Thomas is sexy, intriguing and has some really great twists. I loved everything about this book: from the characters to the story-line. This is a really exciting start to the Becoming Her series and I can not wait to read more!

Oh sweet mother! I loved this story!
I'm a huge fan of historical romance, and K Webster did not disappoint.
Oh, Jasper! This dirty-talking alpha falls hard and will do anything to protect what is his.
I loved Elisabeth and Jasper's banter and off-the-charts chemistry. The second these two meet, sparks fly, which thoroughly confuses Elisabeth, since according to her, she's still in love with William. But Jasper makes her see that she really wasn't in love with William. As the story unfolds, so does her feelings for Jasper, now her betrothed.
This story is short, but packs a punch. There's steamy romance and a hint of danger weaved in the story. I cannot wait to see where K Webster takes us in the next book.
I highly recommend this story.

K. Webster is a prolific author, and I find the author’s oeuvre is hit or miss for me. Some stories I really enjoy. Some stories I’m indifferent to. Some stories I do not care for. Becoming Lady Thomas falls into the final category.

Becoming Lady Thomas was a very quick read, one that only took about an hour to read, yet it felt like it went on for much longer. This was because I never felt any connection to the story. It is a historical romance, yet it does not feel like one (in fact, I spent too much time trying to work out when it was supposed to be set), and the fact was extremely jarring. Add in the fact that I never felt the chemistry between the characters and the events were cliched (it was obvious from the start what was going to happen with certain characters), and I found my attention drifting.

Becoming Lady Thomas clearly works for many, as I’m sure the rest of the series does, but it didn’t work for me. I love a good historical romance, but this failed to tick my boxes.

Nando’s Spice Rating: Hot/Extra

I have thoughts on this…

It’s extremely short so it is to be expected that the rating is lower

First of all, the writing style... I adore K Webster's books and writing in general BUT a lot of the vocabulary didn't really reflect the time this is supposed to be set to the point it felt like Lily James Cinderella movie (really random) like a fantasy/fairytale Regency Era but set in the 21st century where like anything goes- I really don't know how else to describe it because its more of a feeling/vibe.

I really hated the fact when H sees a painting of h (its a few years old now but she's literally 14 in it) and then makes comments like he doesn't care if she is of age he's going to take her anyway. It turns out that h is of age and everything so it is fine but it is the principle
