Anna and her father are members of the Underground railroad when into their lives comes a conductor that will forever change them. Anna soon finds out the true identity of this mysterious man and a romance like no other occurs. Through danger and the threat of death or imprisonment, these two go on a journey that, no matter what, will never keep them apart for long.

I love books about history, and this one was such a fantastic read on a subject that many will not touch. The danger that surrounds the romance of George and Anna makes this story so much better. While helping others, they are making a wonderful life for themselves along the way. Bess did it again with such an amazingly well-written story full of history, romance, and danger. Great and easy read.
