I said I’d never be back, but here I am, heart on sleeve and destined for disaster.
Every street reminds me of the way my first love was torn from my life, but the town’s moved on. There’s new development, a new sheriff, and there’s Storm, the antithesis of the pure, bring-home-to-your-parents boys I grew up with. He’s a danger to himself and others, completely reckless, so why can’t I stop myself falling into his arms… his bed?
If I stay with him, I’m in danger of losing everything that’s important, the very moral compass that has served me so well. But his whispered words and hot caresses haunt me. I know it’s going to end in heartbreak. I just can’t get out of the way.
Don’t miss a single syllable of this season’s hottest new erotic romance, Chasing Storm.
This is a complete, standalone novel with no cliffhangers and HEA.
Warning: Due to explicit adult situations, this book is recommended for readers 18+.
Teagan Kade thinks talking about yourself in the third person is silly, just like her collection of snow globes and rare manga. When she's not being silly, she's hanging out with her own Storm and two children in the south of Australia, dreaming of new characters and torturous ways they can get themselves into trouble. Teagan loves hearing from her readers, all of whom are as dear to her heart as salted caramel cookies. Shoot her an email at: teagan@teagankade.com. She doesn't bite.
Meh . . .couldn't really connect with the characters. There was a lot that was stuffed into a short book, including trying to give background, lost high school love flashbacks, "the wrong side of the tracks" storyline, love triangle, PTSD, dirty cops, shoot outs, etc. Interesting storyline - probably would have enjoyed it more if it had been fleshed out or if so much hadn't tried to have been squeezed into less than 150 pages.
Erm so I was disappointed in this read and the worst part was that I believed it had so much potential to be amazing but sadly didn't deliver.
There was just WAY too much going on. There is death, pregnancy, crooked cops, drugs, drug money, domestic abuse, gangs, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. There is just too much extra stuff that takes away from the main story. To add to all of what was going on there just was not enough character development to even allow me empathise with the characters. Maybe if the book was longer it could have developed more and stretched out some of the events that happened during and it would of been a wild read but it was just too much, too fast, too short and unrealistic!
It has a bad boy thats rough, sexy and has a heart of gold. Storm has got a bad name because of who his family is, almost no one will give him a chance or look at him as the 'Good guy', the innocent one.
With Alice I don't want to call her a S-L-U-T because well if a man did was she does he would get a bunch of high fives and a 'well done'. So I don't want to disrespect women by saying that but how can I say she is a little Easy, a little over 'giving'. You could tell from the start that Alice wasn't going to be your average 'good girl' and I liked that, but it didn't really go into depth of anything for us to see her explore that.
There was a lot of heat, serious heat! I mean panty change many times throughout this read.. However at times that's all I felt it was hot, HOT erotic dangerous S-E-X!
And with the Tim story I feel like it just kind of got over looked! At first when she looks back on him and her I thought it's different, it's good we are going to 'Develop' on that.. But there was nothing?! And the Twin bit?! Again that got over looked, ignored.. It was all just a bit all over the place. However this doesn't put me off reading another book by this author as it did have a great promise!
The reviews on this were mixed and I can see why. Yes there were typos/grammar errors and there were a lot of subplots taking place, probably a bit too much. However, there was a lot of good in this book too. There were smoking hot sex scenes, tender moments with all the love interests, her father and her bff, as well as, a funny as shit fight scene with her nemesis.
I think there was a lot here with these crazy characters that could have been explored further and made this a phenomenal book. I would have preferred to see time spent on deeper character development, because I really think there was a lot going on with these characters that was really good. I say that because I literally couldn't put the book down last night and read the whole thing in two hours.
I am hoping that as the second book comes out Teagan digs deeper into Dan's PTSD, how he is handling it and how he overcame an abusive father. That will bring a lot of heart and warmth to the book. I look forward to reading more of Teagan's books and watching her grow as a writer.
I enjoyed this book. I know some of reviews were bad. What really passes me off is everyone's opinion of Alice. How she is a slut because she sleep with two different men. Get over yourselves. If she'd been a man it would have been fine. She was dating anyone she could do what she wanted. Don't let the bad reviews kept you reading this book. It had a little bit of everything. Alice and Storm were meant to be. Great read
I like the story line in this book, but I feel the whole thing was rushed! I wish authors would come back to some of their books and just freshen or polish them up a bit! There no epilogue in this one so who know if these two stay together. Plus at the end it has an excerpt from Dan's story "Chasing Winter" (coming soon??)! I would love to read Dan's story!!
I do love how these two meet. I love how Alice goes back to her hometown and goes back to live with her parents, goes out with her high school friend Jenna. She meets up with an old friend from high school Dan and they decide to have dinner. I didn't like how she strung Dan along, I not for cheating which I feel Alice does. Then the next day she goes to the next town over and meet up with Storm. Stays with him, doesn't realize "who" he is!!
What I got lost on was so Storm went to collage, but Tim was a drop out of high school! Then Tim was killed when they were suppose to leave together after Alice has her final day of high school. But Storm and Tim's parents aren't kill until a few year later. So how does Storm get together with Lucy to go to college? Lucy helps all the local kids finish high school but Storm should have been finished and almost done with college, around the time of his parents death.
I was just re-reading a lot because I would get lost on who was talking or what the story line was suppose to be at the spot in the book. I just had to keep reading because it wasn't making sense. It's a very short book I read it in under a day, which is why I wonder why it can't be made longer and make more details come to light.
What the hell did I just read and what kind of ending was that!?? I can't believe what an awful story this was. I love sex just as much as the next person. Turn up the steam absolutely! But the only thing these characters had in common was crude and nasty scenes that were so complicated and messy, you felt like you were in a game of Twister. And she slept with both men🤦🏻♀️ To make matters worse, the main female character, Alice was completely empty headed and annoying. She did not know how to express herself meaningfully or say anything significant to either of the men she cared about and subsequently hurt. All she could offer was what was between her legs, so I guess that makes her a s*** in many ways. I don't see anything admirable or redeeming about this woman. And the ending was even worse. After she herself realizes and admits to herself that she is enamoured with the main male character, Storm and not the equally hot sherriff , Dan, she can not verbally express this at the most climactic moment of the story. As a result, Storm has to practically sacrifice himself so Alice can realize that she actually has to communicate that she loves him. I mean, He almost dies!!! And when she sees him in the hospital, they have sex again 🤔 surprising ... afterwards follows a simple and anti climactic dialogue where Storm says," I'm going to do right by you." And Alice in Whoreland whimpers, " I know". That was literally the extent of the ending. I don't know if you could even consider that an HFN, because it just ended like that. We have no idea where their fate lies. It is THAT BAD. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

Great romance about Alice that left her home town after her first love got killed by getting hit by a bus comes back to her home town after 5 years away and an abusive football ex boyfriend got arrested sis she want a clean slate or a breather from NY, NY in Rosie ID. She told her self no dating or relationships but she never thought she would have 2 guys wanting her attention. Dan the town sheriff, the same day she came to town and asked her on a date. He is the safer of the two, all american guy. But the other Storm is from Millertown, the criminal town and a son of a criminal drug dealer but also is her first loves twin brother. She feels more for Storm with their connection to each other but can Alice look past his parents reputation and be with him or will she take the safer man that she should be with even through her heart is not wanting Dan?
"Chasing Storm" by Teagan Kade is about Alice a woman who returns home after saying she was never going back, but who could blame her... on her last day of school she witnessed the death of her boyfriend Tim. Unfortunately she had a hard time getting past that tragedy and hooked up with a bad man. She returns to her family and immediately hooks up with an old friend for a night at the local bar. Storm is from the the next town where all the troublemakers are. They feel the pull to each other but can they overcome the trouble that Storm attracts?
I gave this book 3.5 stars. I think with a little more to the story it would go from good to awesome. I liked both Alice and Storm, but didn't care for Dan much. Jemma was a good touch and I'm hoping she ends up with Dan in a future book.
For 135 pages there was just too much going on. There is Tim's death that keeps getting referred to, pregnancy, crooked cops, drugs, drug money, domestic abuse, gangs, and I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. There is just too much extra stuff that takes away from the main story. The story seems to take place over a short period of time and at the end of the book I was left going "Huh?" There were some really sexy hot scenes as well as some scenes that left you wondering how in the heck they even survived getting away. It was okay, not my favorite but definitely not horrible.
Oh wow...absolutely loved it. How can some people complain. It was full of everything you could want in a story. Storm..well such a hot guy. Alice looking for peace of mind and running into TWO hot Guys. .Dan a police officer and Storm the local bad boy. who to choose. Loved all the drama the romance (sex) ha ha ha But the twister..phew what decisions to be made at the end. would have liked an Epilogue possibly to see what happens to them all. Other than that..PERFECT. :-)
An enjoyable read, lots of action, wish there was more
I wasn't sure about this when I started it. It took a few chapters to fall into the storyline. Once things got rolling, I didn't want to put it down. A thrilling read, great sex, and a happy ending. I wish there was more on Alice's friend Gemma, and an epilogue about Alice and Storm.
Storyline wasn't too bad, but too much was put into such a short book. If the book was longer and a little more detailed with everything going on, it would have been better. Left some unanswered questions as well. Not to bad overall for a quick erotic read.
WOW...I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book!!! This is definitely one of the best books that I have read this year. I can't wait to start the next one to come from this series.
