Very helpful. Wish I had found this book before we went on our school tours...but much of the advice will be beneficial throughout the rest of the application process.
Good book The author has a business that helps middle schoolers get into the top college prep high schools in the country I know about private and prep schools but I’ve never been exposed to wire prep schools, were tuition is 50k and kids go into boarding to hopefully get admitted to the top colleges in 4 years The author details the process from what test scores the child should aim for on the major middle school exams and how they should put together their application I loved the authors perspective of the people to try to impress on a visit to the school, especially the hawk, who normally runs the front office and has more power than parents normally realize A big surprise to me was the endowment that some of these high schools have, a couple of them in the billions This is more than the college that I attended but it makes sense because many of these schools have been around since the 1700s, producing many wealthy alumni
Overall a great book to read for a parent who is academically minded for their kids, whether they plan for their kids to go to one of these schools or not
