This is not the actual Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. The primary objective of this book is to bring insightful discussion and critique of Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up to readers everywhere. This book, A Summary and Analysis of Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, includes an unofficial summary of the key ideas and facts of Kondo’s book, supplemented with analysis and comments on each key idea, as well as critical analysis of Kondo’s principal messages. It also discusses how the KonMari Method misses one important step, which involves the principle of mindful acquisition. This missing step is crucial for those people who live in the countries where consumerism has established itself as the mainstream social and economic order.
Does not go into as much depth so attacks platitudes with platitudes. A few good points were raised. Worth the 20 minute read if you are not planning to read the kiddo book itself.
It is hard to take the book seriously because I.K. Mullins' educational and work background are not mentioned. I did not find the book insightful or interesting.
