Soul Breather is the first book in the 21st Century Sirens Series
British bestselling author, T Stedman, is a keen horsewoman, a devourer of Fantasy Romance and a self-confessed escapist.
She debuted in 2015 with her six-book Urban Fantasy Romance series, 21st Century Sirens. Followed closely by her collection of Dark Romances, The Dark Valentines, which she still writes. She is a migraine mentor, penning her semi-autobiographical work on migraine, My Migraine Story, which spun off from her migraine-wise blog, designed to offer useful advice to fellow migraine sufferers.
After fifteen books and two Novellas, she continues on her writing journey, embarking recently on the first of her ghostly teen series; Night Shades, which has solidified her as a multi-stringed author.
She currently resides in the Kent countryside with her kids, dogs and horses, where she works in the NHS. And, of course, she loves to write …
Soul Breather really confused me in the beginning. It almost immediately begins with a sex scene which threw me in for a loop! Then another a chapter or two later, then another... Then another.. I had to check the genre of the book to see if I was reading an erotic novel.. YIKES!
There were also so many characters (90% male) that it was really hard to keep track of all of them but thankfully the writing was well organized I was able to figure everyone out.
I will say the story that was in between all the pages of lovemaking these characters were partaking in, ahem... was pretty interesting. If your looking for a book all about a Siren in a weird unrealistic love triangle, this book is definitely for you.
Soul Breather is the first book in an adult urban fantasy series of T. Stedman.
The protagonist is Tia a siren who grew up knowing she's just a regular human being. I love her edgy and defiant personality. She is torned between a guy she first met, Jay, a human. And Dante an Atlantean prince who seemed to be a perfect match for her.
There are lots of side characters that confused me a bit in the beginning but i get to remember and i understand soon enough as i go along reading the book.
The world building is great too although i thought i'll like it better if we get to explore more of the Atlantean world. But since it is an urban fantasy, i understand why the setting mostly took place in cities or in mortal land. Besides, i like Tia's life being a DJ and a horseback riding enthusiast.
The love triangle is very interesting because i hadn't guessed who Tia will be ending up until at least the last 30% of the book. And im so glad my ship has sailed!
The ending is something that i did not expect to happen, so it was totally a surprise for me. Since it's an adult fantasy, you should expect steamy scenes. I suggest this book to anyone who loves Urban fantasy that are character driven and focuses on romance.
I really liked the premise of this book, both the mythology and the setup for the romance. But unfortunately, the writing was not that good and it was throwing me off quite a bit, the lore was confusing, and the two love interests repeatedly got on my nerves. Honestly, Tia deserved better.
I am new to this genre and was a bit unsure given the erotic story line. I decided to give it a go though, as I had read a series of great books by Stuart MacBride which belong to the paranormal crime fiction genre. I have to say I was gripped immediately by the world T Stedman has created, such a vivid landscape where two worlds collide. The characters are real and compelling, pulling you into the fantasy world of the Atlanteans. T Stedman takes care to offer the reader a thorough description of the world she has created, explaining the cultural uniqueness of the world the characters belong to. Having now completed all three books in the Siren series, I can enthusiastically recommend them. T Stedman should be immensely proud of this body of work. I look forward to her next book eagerly.
I really enjoyed this book. It's well written and moves at a good pace, some of the plot was fairly obvious but that didn't detract from the story. The characters were all interesting to get to know and I loved the ending. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series so I can learn more about the Sirens.
The amazing cover-art doesn't even compare to the gripping story, I'm glad I picked it up! I would recommend to anyone who's in the mood for a saucy romance~
The main reason I didn’t rate it higher was because I cannot stand a pregnancy trope. Having Tia’s “ending” being that she had 3 surprise children maturing in 2x to bombard Jay with is just not my thing. I also had a hard time with the love triangle. Jay started using her to essentially get high despite almost dying when Dante was right there and wildly in love with her. Choosing Dante or perhaps a throuple would’ve been better, but that is just my opinion.
EDIT: I increased my rating because half my dislike was plot relevant. Happy reading yall

If it wasn't for my annoying habit to finish a book even if its awful or not my thing (cause I always have to know how things end, no matter if its shitty), I would have put this down ages ago. I got taken in by the beautiful cover and the fact it was free on Amazon. I thought I'd give something different a shot, but it just reaffirmed why I don't read this kind of genre. The concept was very interesting but I found that it wasn't executed well, or at least how I expected it to. I think that if you like this kinda stuff (mystical/fantasy romances with love triangles and lots of sex) then you'd probably quite like it. I was really out of my comfort zone with this and didn't enjoy it at all. I found things were TOO fantastical and over the top, and the love triangle is really silly. But again, I probably shouldn't have read this and on Amazon it does have good reviews from fans of the genre so if you like that stuff give it a shot. The Atlantis/Siren concept was cool and I've not not come across anything with that theme before but sadly this wasn't my thing. It was an experiment that didn't end well and I'll probably stick to my usual stuff from now on. Thanks to the author and Amazon for the opportunity to try something though. I definitely recommend looking at the free section on there and giving something a whirl
Best book series I have read in a long time, anyone interested in the fandoms of harry potter, anime and science-fiction will love these books! I still can't believe how no one knows about these books yet. I can't wait for the fourth book! The amazing cover art drew in my attention but the page turning plot and steamy scenes certainly kept me interested. I was surprised as with a lot of new adult books, they mainly concentrate on sex and romance, yet with these books I found that the paranormal plot and romantic scenes were evenly matched and equally gripping.
This book while not being great was entertaining and kept me reading til the end. A twist on her people and Atlantis thrown in with humans. An easy read without the depth of full immersion in a brilliant book but good all the same
