I learned early on that one thing I love about Cami Checketts is the settings of her books. I grew up in this small valley and can visualize the setting so well as I read each of her books. I also learned early on that she really knows how to write a fantastic romantic suspense and although this one is a novella, it's still well done.
Natasha is enjoying college life and the love interests that come with it. There are women missing and she's not sure who to trust, but she's sure she can trust the cute grad assistant, Tony. At least, she hopes she can.
I couldn't believe the situation Natasha found herself in, especially because I knew exactly where this was happening and it made even creepier. Just because this one is short, it doesn't mean the reader gets gypped on a great romantic suspense. It's all there and the story felt complete.
Content: clean romance (kissing, mention of unwed pregnancies); mild violence (kidnapping, mention of murder--nothing graphic); no language or religious elements. Clean!

I may be a tad bit obsessed with Cami Checketts and this Tenderness and Terror series. Maybe. I may have let out a tiny "squee" when she sent me this prequel novella to review. Okay, yeah, I totally did. And I am. Obsessed.
This is a quick, fast, over entirely too soon, novella. I have no idea how Cami is able to pack all the good stuff into such a pint size book, but she does. It's romantic suspense at it's best and it played out like a movie in my head. So much fun!
I first met Natasha in "Blog This". It was nice to get a bit of a background story on her in this book. This is a great addition to this series. If you haven't had a chance to read it yet, you really should.
I read Blog This last year. I was excited to be back with Natasha and Tony and see how their story started. There is plenty of suspense and romance in this short prequel. Read it before or after Blog This. You'll enjoy it either way!
This may be a short read, but it has so much in it - suspense, drama, love, mystery, kidnapping. Will Natasha be next on the list of the college kidnapper? Who can she trust? Is she truly falling for Tony or is he just a good guy? Does Tony have feelings for Natasha? Will he be able to keep her safe? Does Natasha have another someone else watching out for her? This is my first time reading Cami Checketts, but it won't be my last. I'm now intrigued to read the res of this seire
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was not what I was expecting, but it turned out to be interesting with a darker edge than I thought there would be. Admittedly, the summary does say that students are going missing, so clearly something nefarious is going on, but I was surprised by what it turned out to be. Honestly, based on this I'd be interested in seeing how the rest of the series goes.
She’s a college student, falling for a great guy. He says something stupid and they split. But she’s been targeted by a sex trafficker and when she’s captured that great guy saves her.
I enjoyed the story as Natasha tries to lead a normal student life as five women are abducted. The rescuer is a normal guy. I was expecting him to be an undercover detective.
This was a great fast read. Even though it was a short story, the plot line and characters were well developed. I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy the Tenderness and Terror set.
Short and sweet, as most prequels are. I'm ready for more! Tony and Nattie (I like the nickname he gave her) are cute together and definitely have some chemistry!
I've read quite a few of Cami's books and honestly, her romantic suspense novels are not my favorites. In the case of Protect This I wonder if I would have liked this more if I had already read the first book Blog This. I believe this prequel was released after the first book. If I had it to do over I would read Blog This before reading this as I felt like I might have appreciated this more if I already cared about the characters.
Don't miss understand me this was still a good book that I have no regrets about. I just wasn't surprised by who the culprit ended up being and due to its short length the romance felt quite rushed to me.
I love it when authors write sequels or as in this case, a prequel, to a series that I already love. It gives me a chance to go back into that familiar world and revisit the characters I already know. I get to learn a little bit more about who they are and how they got to this place.
Natasha is the main character in Blog This and in this story, we go back to when she was a student in college.
'Five female students had disappeared from campus this month.'
That's not good and it has the whole campus on edge. And Natsha isn't sure who to trust.
'She proceeded to tell the dispatcher about the intruder as she waited for the police to arrive. Her heart thumped out of control as she wondered who in the world had been in her room and why.'
Protect This is a novella that is packed with a powerful punch! The story gets pretty intense and it was one that I had to read in one sitting. There was no way I wasn't going to find out how this all ended. This was a great read and I hope there are more stories coming in this wonderful series.
Given to me for an honest review. This is a prequel to Blog This that introduces the main characters for Blog This. I am so happy to have found this author. I normally pick new authors who write romance and paranormal stories. When she offered a book for review, I wanted to check her out. I found I had previously bought Blog This. When I read it, I knew that I had found a new author to keep. She writes inspirational suspense, but she doesn't hit you over the head about it. Five girls have gone missing from the college that Natasha is attending. At first, the authorities thought they were runaways, but with 5 missing they have now launched an investigation. What has happened to them? They each went on a date with someone that was not known, but their relatives get phone texts. Will they be OK? She gets the creeps every time she sees Darren who lives near her. She would much rather think of the teacher's assistant, Tony.
First of all I LOVE THE COVER! Love how the girl is biting her lip..so eye catching and intriguing! And I absolutely LOVED the story! How FUN to have 3 guys who could have easily been the culprit! Cami is a master suspense writer! This one will keep you guessing with each page turn until the very end! I also admire that Cami touched on a sensitive subject in this book and so beautifully wrote about it. This series is a MUST-READ! I highly recommend it!
I Loved this novella! I have read both Blog This and Redeem This so it was great to have a prequel to those books. It was nice to get more background on Natasha and Tony! As I've said before, I love it when an Author expands on characters you already love. This book is full of action and suspense and a great afternoon read! As always Cami's books are the best!
I am not really fond of novellas and this was a novella. I knew that going in but wanted to get this out of the way so I could read the series that follows this. I was not wild about this story. Too short (of course because it is a novella) and just not satisfying reading. I have changed my mind about reading on in the series--this has killed my desire to read on.
This short gives the background story on Natasha's and Tony's romance. Full of suspense and mystery, we follow Natasha's journey as she puts past hurts and mistakes behind her and makes way for love. It is very short but it sets up the background story for Blog This, book one in the series.
This was a great fast read. Even though it was a short story, the plot line and characters were well developed. I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy the Tenderness and Terror set.
Short prequel that sets the stage for Blog This, which was great. The characters are cool and I was blown away by the surprise ending. Gave me some insight into the main character’s life (Natasha) before she gets married. The poor girl seems to be a magnet for trouble.
The book was fantastic. It had me guessing for a while who the bad guy was going to be. Good suspense and action. I wanted to know more so I had to read the next installment immediately after!
