Moon Pull is a pop ballad on love; Moon Pull is an ode to nature; Moon Pull is a lush examination of longing and heartbreak and the feeling of finding oneself through it all. Moon Pull is so many things at one time. I often found myself stalling over words and spaces to pull out the meaning and examine how Warren shaped the poems. Let me give you a spoiler: she does so with the utmost intentionality. My favorite use of space was a hat tip to Mr. Darcy's confession in Pride and Prejudice. And my favorite line?

"you'll be startled,/ but the warmth you've missed will lift you/ off your knees. on your feet now, love. eyes forward."
^That is going on my wall.

For this to be a debut chapbook of poetry and to be so coherent in its storytelling is honestly a wonder.

In Moon Pull, Rebekah opens herself up as a chasm for the reader to dive into. She's willing to be truthful about the parts of love and heartbreak that we often keep hidden: "I say the words I am supposed to say/ not the words I think, but if you asked me/ even once, I would tell you" and "this ceremony fails, not by unbelief/ but because I only say your name in my sleep / and you don't say mine at all."

Her poems in this chapbook are brave. It's for precisely this reason that you will walk away feeling seen, and a little less alone. Perfect for anyone experiencing the fallout of limerence or love, also perfect for anyone who's been listening to heartbreak music just to feel something.

A dreamy, honest and heartfelt look at the trajectory of a relationship from beginning to end. So many moments in this will be deeply relatable to those who have ever experienced and then lost that *too big for this world* kind of love. Warren weaves lyrical language, mysticism and nature-based imagery so meditatively here. I was impressed by how openly and candidly she was able to express her emotional journey, never shying away from the toughest feelings or lovestruck sentiments. This reads so authentically from beginning to end, and is a brave and honest depiction of throwing oneself wholeheartedly into love.
