What do you do when everything you thought you knew turns out to be a lie?
Walk it off and keep moving forward.
At least, that was my plan. Until I'm forced into hiding with the four guys from my childhood, who range from wanting me dead to wanting more from me than I'm willing to give.
With my allies gone and old foes at my doorstep, we'll have to figure out how to work together before our enemies get to us first.
For better or worse, it's time to reveal the truth of the past and settle old debts.
Raze is a full length why choose dark urban fantasy/paranormal romance novel that ends on a cliffhanger. It is book 2 in the Raegan of Ruin series that will be completed in 2025. If you like plot, banter, steam, a strong heroine, and multiple alpha-holes that you don't have to choose between, then this is for you. It is recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations.
Raze by A.L. Rook, narrated in full cast by Amy Hall, J.F. Harding, Jason Clarke, Christian Fox, Jacob Morgan, Marie Hawkins, and Jarman Day.
What an incredible second installment in the Reagan of Ruin series. I am completely immersed in this world. The X-Men vibes are absolutely immaculate and the emotions in this one felt so much higher. I loved seeing how the relationships between the characters developed and how trust is slowly coming back between some of them. Dane and Aiden’s relationship with Reagan really hit me hard, and I am SO ready to see how they resolve the conflict between them because the tension and emotions were just chef’s kiss.
The ending just about did me in!
🎧 The narration and production by PinUp Audio was outstanding. I am genuinely in awe of Amy Hall because she portrays Reagan so incredibly well. The highs and lows, the emotional beats, all of it hit so hard. And the whole cast was absolutely top notch. I honestly cannot imagine myself continuing this series any other way than on audio.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall, 5 stars story 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 5 stars narration & production 🌶️🌶️🌶️✨ 3.5 chilis
Thank you so much PinUp Audio for this audio review copy, all opinions are my own.
Raze is the second audiobook in A.L. Rook’s fantastically-suspenseful, paranormal, Why Choose romance series, Raegan of Ruin. I am so completely invested in this series! The X-Men vibes, the evil corporation, the trauma, the relationships, the emotions, the angst, the romance, and the spice that ALWAYS be spicing—I am 100% here for ALL of it! The writing is absolutely top notch, and the characters are fascinating, to say the least. This second book picks up right where the first book left off, continuing the saga of the “gifted” who are doing their best to simultaneously hide from and take down the corporation that kidnapped them as children, attempted to brainwash them into using their gifts to do their evil bidding, and experimented on them in the most inhumane and cruel ways imaginable. The FMC, Raegan, is still navigating relationships with the four men with whom she grew up and gave her heart to in various ways while on the island they had been taken to after being kidnapped. We’re still getting tidbits about their life on the island as well as their eventual escape. Just when you think you have an idea of what happened there, you get a new flashback that changes everything. This story seriously keeps you on the edge of your seat at all times. I am absolutely, 100%, completely obsessed with this series! And A.L. Rook keeps torturing us with these damned cliffhangers! But I love the story so much, I don’t even mind. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next audiobook in the series!
I wholeheartedly suggest consuming this series in audio format, because the duet-style, full-cast narration kicks this already-incredible story up several more notches! The talented, dream-team cast of Amy Hall, JF Harding, Jason Clarke, Christian Fox, Jacob Morgan, Marie Hawkins, and Jarman Day all turn in absolutely outstanding performances! The passion, emotion, and intensity they all bring to playing these intriguing and compelling characters is nothing short of perfection, in my humble opinion. If you are a fan of this genre, and you are not yet listening to this series, you are missing out! Big time!
This is book two of the Raegan of Ruin series and I fear I have messed up big time. Why? Because I want to know what happens next but I refuse to experience this series any other way than through this fantastic audio! I need books 3-5 STAT!!! A.L. Rook, I am loving this world you created!
AMY HALL!!!! She is just so talented, with a smoothness and maturity to her voice that leaves no room to argue who is the HBIC! Even if this series was solo narrated by her, I would listen because she is absolutely amazing as Raegan and carries this book from beginning to end!
While book one was slightly more Raegan and Kellan (Jason Clarke) focused, Raze turns the spotlight to Raegan and Jackson (Christian Fox). Raze also explores the reasons for the hardened dynamics between Raegan and the remaining men, Dane (Jacob Morgan) and Aiden (JF Harding).
Jarman Day and Marie Hawkins nearly stole the show for me in this one with their (redacted) roles (it’s definitely a love to hate thing.) I’m having a lot of fun listening to this series and with a cast this talented, it’s only bound to get better and better as the story progresses.
Perfect amount of spice and suspense that leaves me craving more!
So fun, I was completely absorbed in this audiobook, the story just kept unfolding secrets and the characters dynamics evolved with eachother so much. They had to learn to start trusting one another and themselves. They each are working through their thoughts, memories and all of the outside information. This book has lots of action, suspense and spice. The tension between the guys and Reagan is delicious and all of the emotions are palpable. So much stands in the way i cant wait to see what happens next. That chiffhanger hurt.
This is a multi-cast duet narration audiobook by Amy Hall, JF Harding, Jason Clarke, Christian Fox, Jacob Morgan, Marie Hawkins, and Jarman Day. Truly amazing talent and perfect performances . They all gave such convincing performance. I could feel everything they where conveying. Every high, low, heartstoping, heartbreaking moment came through beautifully. The production also is superb, truly flawless. I can't wait to continue this series on audio its the only way I want to consum this series.
Thank you to A.L. Rook and PinUp Audio for this ALC. These are my honest opinions and feelings.
Format: Audiobook - Full cast narration in duet by Amy Hall, JF Harding, Jason Clarke, Christian Fox, Jacob Morgan, Marie Hawkins and Jarman Day Series / Standalone: Book 2 in The Raegan of Ruin series (must be read in order) Tropes: Why Choose, PNR, Enemies to Lovers, Dark Urban Fantasy
Thanks to PinUp Audio and the author for this gifted audiobook - all opinions are my own
📚The drama continues. While the story is slow, building up for what I hope is going to be more action in later books, the romance aspect is full steam ahead. I do enjoy how every MMC is so unique and has their own relationship with Raegan. And there not one that is cut and dry. Looking forward to whatever comes next.
🎧As for the audio aspect…did you see that narrator line up. There is nothing I love more in the audiobook space than a full cast. These performances were so good this played out like a movie in my mind. I can’t wait to continue this series in audio!
If the story and narration hadn’t already hooked me in RAVAGE, RAZE would have done it. Even though I feel that the author amped up the sexy time in this installment, the story was still there. All the character's seem to have their own agendas and cannot wait to see how it all comes together. I am going to be impatiently waiting for the next audiobook release. I can’t imagine finishing this series any other way.
I am so hooked to this series it isn't even funny. The narration is brilliant, i devoured this in nearly one sitting that's how hooked i am. I NEED to know what happens next. But also how dare you A.L for giving us that cliffhanger! I'm dangling on the edge waiting for the next banger DESPERATELY
