Baby at this point I'm like I got a bunch of husbands cause the consortium men are built different. Ori and Asha, they had Banter on lock and it baby it was hot. I love a good tug of war, each filled with so much passion that it creates tension, that makes it feel like you can't breathe. I love the magnitude of their chemistry. I always say that I can see myself in a lot of Dandridge female characters, and baby Asha character definitely hit home with me, like I think I cried a few times, even when it wasn't sad and that is different. Knowing that she experienced pain and trauma from the people that were supposed to love her and she had this armor/mask that literally became 2nd nature. It made her strong but also weighed on her spirit and I understood. I loved the way that Ori was the one that could read her from beginning and learn her as they continued, really knowing what she needed. Loved how nonchalant they came off to others, it made me love their personalities even more, added depth to them as characters. This story literally had it all, Dandridge is one of the few authors who her stories are not only fleshed out, but full of rich beautifully cultivated history. The amount of research and information, I know goes into making all of these books so interconnected is mind blowing and that is why I rock so heavy with her. You can guarantee her book will have:

a sexy ass man that protects his woman through all circumstances
Jada wedding plans and her antics
unhinged behavior
spicy ass love making
brotherly bickering love
trash ass parents of someone
flawless reading assholes for filth by the main/main adjacent characters
and a bunch of bitch ass niggas who deserve they ass beat 1000 times over with a side dish of some creative unalivings

P.S:
Agent Anderson a Bitch...not explaining (iykyk)
HER MOM DEF DESERVED A SLOW DEATH!!!!!
Jemma Marie...HAHAH, SHE REALLY SAID BITCH I DARE YOU.
VEGA AND JEMMA ARE A MESS TOGETHER AND I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEIR STORY
Margo on sight at for at least 2 decades for me...haha (iykyk)
Sasha ohhh, shit Afshin said that's his queen, it is written. excited for that story

What can I say about a book so good that you don’t want to end???

Ori and Asha’s story was sooooo good! The people who had issues with love but did what they thought was best for the collective and the people of her country!!!

If you haven’t read anything from this author you’re missing out!!!

Amazingly scary

The story was deep, dark, depraved and dangerously delightful. Maybe I am a psychopath for enjoying Asha and Ori's story so completely. They killed people, enjoyed the thrill, maimed, and made the most dangerous, and unexpected things happen within the confines of sanity. Then... they loved, deeply, hard and deliberate for one another. This one might be The Other One for me...

Bloody Good!

I have no idea if I'm used the British slang correctly but my word there just are no words for this brilliance

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Okayyy everything about his book was just so pitch perfect and so so good. Honestly don't even know what else to say in this review but a bunch of gibberish. Deets:

🌋The first 5% will completely smack you in the face but it is what we need to understand and empathize with the FMC. The psyche plays a large role in the romance arc and Consortium lore. I loved seeing Asha's intelligence on display in action vs just being told she's super smart or watching her be mean just to be mean. Instead we get to see the mechanics of each thought and counter-thought to why she treats certain people a way. Anddd the tit for tat banter makes it maddingly clear why she's a great fit for Ori's Inspector Gadget ass. Asha has a way of cutting through the bullshit with her Posh intellectualism.

🌋Misandrist vs Chauvinist... Ori keeps his cards close to his chest, understanbly, but his courting is riling Asha up to displaycracks in her hard shell. Ori is something special a light in a way and his icey nature thaws out considerably once Mistress comes to play 😉. Ori is a wild wild boy 😆. I thought Liam was something but nah I've been sleeping on Mr. Bodies Drop When I'm Happy Nakoa 😩Especially involving his protector cape for Asha.

🌋Slow burn romance. I appreciated the pace. We got twiwts on top of twists and "things are not as they appear" aka "expect the unexpected" vibes. Last case of his career Ori has to figure out who could be gunning for his lady love, or are they, and how to claim his seat officially, or can he? Despite all that the story itself is quick and has some funny parts, chuckle out loud moments and touch of violence.

🌋Burning intense erotic scenes. He has a curved ladder 😏 and he knows how to use it. Piercings, tats, and a long strong tongue, Ori is a eater 😝. And he uses it as his love language and her stress reliever. By the time he holds her like a cello and strums her willing center I just had my mouth hanging open.

🌋enemies "nigga I would kill you" to lovers "who hurt you" and "my wife" are in the bag. Both burned by past toxicity their foreplay is murder, being snippy, Ori dragging feet on floors, knives, and violent horseback riding.

🌋 New cast of characters + shedding light on some old. Hakeem is a gem. He not only had me cracking up I qas leaning in. Cameos from the family like Afshin finding love, more details on Alec aka Vega letting his hair down, and Grant popping in to refund us this ish is a Monroeverse.

🌋Jada need I say more. Yacouba's funny ass being petty and Smoke being so interested and involved in new family members so 🚩alert.

🌋as always in a Dandridge Monroe book we have 🚩 white people with all the hubris and audacity getting justified ending.

Overall
This book is a hoot! It feels like Dandridge was just having fun. There was just so much packed in but done so well. There are so many things that can't be said in a review because it will need to come as a shock but this story like Ori and Asha has a lot of different layers and under the surface is so much depth. This book feels so different from other Dandrige Monroe books but yet not-- lol. It has her signature touch. I enjoyed it so much. How we had so much trauma and murderyness pop off but yet feel like a light breeze I will never know. But Dandridge is a master wordssmith.

A Masterclass in Knowing Your Worth! Absolute Perfection!
What a phenomenal read! This book completely blew me away. Asha gave us a literal masterclass on "I know my worth and I will treat men accordingly." She was a powerhouse, treating everyone exactly as they deserved—even if she did have a major, frustrating blind spot when it came to Margo.

The family dynamics in this book had my emotions all over the place:

The Twin, Brother, & Father: I am still so incredibly torn about my feelings for them.

The Mother: She did not suffer enough for me. Period. I can understand a woman not wanting to be a mother, but the disgusting situations she put Asha through were absolutely unforgivable.

And can we talk about Ori?! He is officially the man of my dreams. Watching him step up, harness his power, and become exactly who Asha needed for her protection was nothing short of beautiful. His growth—working through his own mother wound and actually being able to hear the hard truths—was so satisfying to witness. He saw the snakes in Asha’s garden immediately and made sure she was safe.

"Experiencing the men of the consortium find love, heal themselves, and help heal their partners is a truly great thing to watch."

If you want a romance with deep healing, protective heroes, and a heroine who knows her value, add this to your TBR immediately!

PS Margo deserves so much more

The Hawaiian and the Ka’iulani

Whew!!! Dandridge Monroe definitely took me on a ride with this one. Ori and Asha’s story had chemistry, tension, emotion, and twists that kept me locked in from beginning to end. The mix of a one-night stand, arranged marriage, forced proximity, and all the banter made this book impossible to put down.

Ori had me swooning one minute and stressing the next, while Asha held her own the entire time. Their story had so many layers, and every chapter pulled me in deeper. The emotional moments mixed with the romance and suspense were done so well.

If you love a romance with strong chemistry, family drama, tension, and unforgettable characters, this book is definitely worth the read. Dandridge Monroe did her thing with this one! Now I’m already waiting on Jemma Marie’s story because I know it’s about to be GOOD.

Hot like Lava But burns so Sweet!!!

Ori & Asha are going to take you on a ride but you are going to love every laugh & every sigh and every tear because they going to put you through every emotion while they learn to trust & then like and then love each other! While dealing with snakes and Double crossing and obsession wrapped in mur der. That comes from those who are supposed to love you but then nothing is what it seems and everything is for the taking if you reach out and grab it. Old friends and new friends and everything in between.

A Predestined Arrangement

Who knew that a masked, one-night stand would eventually lead to a much-needed marriage of convenience? Especially for two people who never thought love and commitment were in the cards for them.

Ori and Asha are two determined, stubborn, and strong-willed forces. Together, they become the healing they both desperately needed but had long ago resigned themselves to living without. Ms. Dandridge takes us on another amazing ride, beautifully capturing the growth and evolution of these characters through love, laughter, and, of course, retribution.

Crazy In Love

Listen Ori and that ladder😜😜. Now Ori and Asha is Smoke and Jada. Those two couples got me choked.

Asha’s egg donor got exactly what she deserved. That mother was the worse. The way her husband turned on her was beautiful.

When Jada showed up and out, I knew it was on. Jada has no filter and I love it. The Consortium brothers are something else. Ok tag me in. I can be Black and Asian and find me a Consortium man because damn.

Dandridge never ceased to amaze me. That lady is magical with a pen. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The Emotions!

You didn’t have to have me going through the emotional roller coaster like that Ms. Dandridge! I laughed, cried real tears (both happy and sad) and cheered something serious in public with people watching. But forget them, it was justified and I would do it all over again. Bravo, to you Ms. Dandridge. Bravo! If you haven’t read the Consortium series, you really are missing on literary art. I love everything about this for me and for you. Get ton know them and one of my favorite authors, not just Black author, but favorite author; Period!

Dandridge gonna do it everytime

Mrs. Monroe really sets every book she writes apart from her others. I loved the journey that Asha and Ori took to finding love because it was perfectly theirs.

Asha has trauma and locked herself away but one night and a timely deal thrusts her into Ori’s life. They fight it as they may but you cannot fight fate.

Ori is a godly specimen of man but he is closed off due to his own set of trauma but, everything in him is drawn to Asha.

The twists and turns and new character introductions were the perfect touch.

Amazing Story

Ori and Asha was a beautifully written tale of two scarred individuals. I loved their story and character development. Oh yeah and the spice was spicing. Dandridge Monroe never disappoints, her pen is unmatched.
