i fucking love this volume SORRY. the battle itself amazing but as someone who is a RIDE OR DIE for shin... seeing him do everything for sakamoto and his family - willing to break those rules just to protect that same family. AND HIS BACKSTORY. WITH HIS FATHER. AND YOUNG SAKAMOTO. I FUCKING LOVE SHIN SO MUCH OMG

This volume totally made up for the last one. Shin fights and is willing to go back to being an assassin and quitting Sakamoto's just to protect them (love how loyal he is) but as always, Taro turns up just in time.

We're getting some backstory of how Taro and Shin met, and how the pair ended up becoming so close back when they were assassins. I feel bad for Shin finding his father is actually a dick, but Taro's already taken him under his wing (or back, if we're going by the manga panels lol).

Looking forward to seeing more of the pair!

Dog har jeg aldrig forstået hvorfor Tenkyu kom tæt på igen, efter han fandt ud af at han kunne ramme Shin fra lang afstand.
Hved godt at han havde en throw away linje med at han at han ene øje er irriterende, det er bare ikke nok til at overbevise mig at han ville opgive sin eneste fordel.
Det var så også grunden til at han tabte SMH.🤦‍♂️

Nu kommer vi også ind i et Shin og Sakamoto flashback det er ret godt og kan godt lide Shins far han virker ret cool.

Eller har jeg ikke så meget andet at sige, en ret standard volume for at være helt ærlig.

So Tenkyu is pretty cool. Hopefully his character turns around and joins the team? Or at least, I hope we get to see more of him. This volume continues the action from the last volume as Shin and Heisuke try to save the JAA fortune teller from Tenkyu. Will Shin be able to hold out against a formidable foe? Also, we get a deep dive into a previously unexplore relationship between Taro and Shin. Does Shin even remember this? I'm appreciating the father/son dynamic they've got going on, and so this flashback really helps solidify it even more.

I really liked seeing Shin and Sakamoto’s first meeting. Although Sakamoto is 19 and Shin is 13 both are childish in funny ways. The running gag of Shin fainting from the shock of Sakamoto’s murderous thoughts is comedy gold.

I also like how Shin’s ESP ability at 13 comes to him so naturally with almost no effort. It resembles puberty - your body changing without permission which makes you feel out of control and overwhelmed by new senses. Hence why he was able to command a street full of vendors to harass Sakamoto while he escaped. But because his powers are always on he lacks control over how bothersome they are. Thus his dislike for crowds. It gives the reader great insight into why he’s so repressed as an adult and has to learn the rules of his abilities for the first time. 5/5 stars.

just logging due to tankōbon release lag. i finished this a while back and this volume spans the first half of the JAA jail arc (191-199 iirc) — shin centric as always and i don’t think there was anything remarkable other than the shin & taro first meeting flashback otherwise i would have remembered.. i’m really more concerned about the next volumes. the other fandoms are beating our asses because of atari ex machina….. suzuki-san come on this is getting ridiculous

Honestly, this was amazing! Shin is one of my favorite characters from the beginning and it is great to see him grow physically and mentally. The fight between him and Tenkyu was one of the greatest fights in the series. The second part focuses on young Shin and Sakamoto as they try to find Shin's dad who is also Sakamoto's target. Great volume overall!

Muchas cosas que decir pero todo se base en: 1. Amo dms y siempre lo haré, la relación de Shin y Sakamoto, 2. Amo que sakamoto confíe dms en todos sus amigos, 3. Necesito saber más sobre la vida de sakamoto, AYUDA. Que buen volume. Realmente momentos así (la verdad desde el V1) supe que este iba hacer BY FAR mi manga fav. Gracias;).

A great palate cleanser to reset your mind between the previous and next mental task. It is funny, but not ha-ha funny like Way of the Househusband, it is more subtle. The absolutely over-the-top fight scenes between a convenience store clerk and the hit-men sent to assassinate him are just that.

The action scenes and wide background shots are amazing artwork.

While the action scenes are intense as always, the flow of this one just feels a little off. They are working to stop the mad Bowman Tenkyu and Shin decides he has to become a murderer to stop him. This results in a flashback to the first time the Sakamoto and Shin teamed up. I will give the writer credit, the intense scene of Sakamoto saving Shin by jumping a car off a bridge was insane.

Banger as always, opens with an epic fight and a big Shin moment then moves into a backstory of when Shin and Sakamoto first met, something I did not expect to see and have been thoroughly enjoying thus far. So many good panels in here, thoroughly enjoyed as always!
