⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

This ended up being about a 3.5-star read for me.
I’ve definitely read this plot before.
Parent’s Favorite sister sleeps with the husband.
Golden-child syndrome.
Family treats one daughter like royalty while the other is expected to quietly suffer.
It’s not exactly breaking new ground.

That said, I think I enjoyed this one more than some of the similar stories I’ve read because I actually liked Grace and Dylan.

The book opens with Grace returning home two days early from a business trip and immediately realizing something is wrong.

She hears the noises upstairs.

She sees the shoes.

And unfortunately those shoes belong to her husband Connor and her younger sister Megan.

Now, I do need to point out that Grace completely missed the easiest evidence-gathering opportunity imaginable. 😂

If you already know what’s happening and you’re standing outside the bedroom door, maybe take a video before leaving.

Just a thought.
Instead, she leaves.
She goes to a hotel.
She cries for about an hour.

And then immediately enters her revenge era.
Honestly? I respected it.
Rather than confronting them right away, Grace realizes she needs proof if she wants to destroy both her husband and her sister properly.
And destroy them she does.

One thing I liked about this story is that Grace isn’t just losing a husband.
She’s also losing a business partner.

Connor has apparently been taking credit for much of her work, and she realizes she wants out—not just from the marriage but from the business too. The goal becomes proving the affair, leaving on her own terms, and taking control of her future.

To do that, she needs evidence.
So she calls Megan’s husband.
Enter Dylan.

And honestly, Dylan is probably the reason this book earned the extra half star.
When Grace tells him what’s happened, he’s immediately willing to help.

Partly because his wife has been cheating on him.
But mostly because he seems genuinely concerned about Grace.
Which is interesting because we quickly learn that Dylan was never particularly happy with Megan to begin with.

Apparently Megan tricked him into marriage by convincing him she was pregnant. He married her, had her sign a prenup, then discovered she wasn’t actually pregnant.

I still don’t understand why he stayed married after that.
But apparently billionaire romance logic works differently than the rest of us. 😂

From there the story becomes part revenge plot and part healing romance.
Grace installs cameras.
Dylan helps investigate.
They spend more and more time together.
And eventually they fall for each other.

What worked for me is that I actually enjoyed their relationship.
Dylan was easy to root for.
Grace was easy to root for.
And after seeing how poorly everyone in her life treated her, it was nice watching someone finally put her first.

Because Grace’s family is terrible.
Megan is terrible.
Their parents are terrible.
Connor is terrible.

Everybody seems determined to make excuses for Megan while expecting Grace to quietly accept whatever scraps she’s given.

At some point I stopped wondering why Grace was upset and started wondering why she hadn’t cut these people off years ago.

Meanwhile Connor somehow manages to become more ridiculous the longer the story goes on.

The man appears to have three hobbies:

🎮 Playing video games.
🏋️ Going to the gym.
💀 Sleeping with Megan.

I honestly couldn’t tell you what else he contributes to society.
The most baffling moment for me was when Connor asks Grace if she wants to start trying for children.

Sir.
You are actively sleeping with her sister.
What exactly is the plan here?
The level of delusion was honestly impressive.

Eventually Grace and Dylan get the evidence they need.
They find Megan’s burner phone.
They recover months of messages.
They get video footage.

And then comes the public takedown.
Which was absolutely the best part of the book.
At Connor and Grace’s anniversary party, with both families present, the evidence is revealed.

Connor’s parents see it.
Grace’s parents see it.
Everyone sees it.
And chaos follows.

Connor loses everything.
His father cuts him off.
His marriage ends.
His business collapses.
Grace quits.
The clients leave with her.
Eventually most of the employees leave with her too.

One of my favorite moments comes later when Connor realizes he can’t run the company without her and comes crawling back asking her to return.
The realization that she was the talent all along was deeply satisfying.

Megan doesn’t fare much better.
She loses Dylan.
Loses the money.
Loses the lifestyle.
Moves back in with her parents.
And apparently can no longer afford maintaining her expensive blonde aesthetic, which the book treats as a particularly devastating consequence. 😂

The revenge was satisfying.
The romance was enjoyable.
The pacing moved quickly.

And unlike some revenge stories, we don’t spend forever waiting for the payoff.

My biggest issue is that several characters have to make some truly questionable decisions for the plot to work.

Grace should have gotten evidence immediately.
Connor is almost cartoonishly stupid at times.
Megan is so villainous that she occasionally feels more like a Disney antagonist than an actual person.

But honestly?
I still had fun.
The angst was angsty.
The revenge was satisfying.
Dylan was easy to love.
And watching Grace finally choose herself made the ride worthwhile. ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

There’s definitely cheating in this one.
(Possible spoilers ahead)

Heroine’s husband (OM) is sleeping with heroine’s sister (OW)
About 45% in, the heroine sleeps with her sister’s husband (H)
So yuck! Sister’s Sloppy Seconds
That a fantastic way to make sure all family get-togethers are awkward for everybody. 😂

Personally, I’d never be able to see my sister boinking my husband and stay quite about it. Fists would’ve been flying everywhere.

This heroine sees them boinking and she just quietly leaves. She does tell the hero what she saw. He informs her that his marriage was already in the toilet.

So they spend the next 3 weeks gathering evidence to bring the cheaters down....except they also start to fall for each other. They are spicy together.

The revenge was okay. It wasn’t earth shattering, but it was funny to read. They deserved more.
The epilogue was nice. The H and h are still together after a year. He proposes and she said yes.
The original trashy cheaters have very crappy lives.

I would’ve rated this 5 stars if the heroine actually did the things she thought about

“I want to grab the lamp off the dresser and bring it down on Connor’s goddamn skull until he stops moving.”

“I want to take the shopping bag and beat her with it until I can’t lift my arms anymore”

The sister betrayal, yet again…

Not quite a four star but close enough. The husband and the sister are trashy and classless. The sister faked a pregnancy to make Dylan, the real MMC, marry her for his money and lifestyle. Then she faked losing it.

The FMC, Grace, is married to the man Conner who is cheating with her sister, Megan. He’s pretty much a loser and he spends his nights gaming. I’ve heard of this in real life but I believe it’s the first book I’ve read with this plot point.

I’m repeating myself but this is just totally ick. If this ever happened in my family, I’d completely fall apart. The sister has to be so jealous to act like this. The cheaters are just disgusting.

KU and this was good. Not great but better than the average read.

It was ok

While reading this type of books I was to feel the pain being inflicted on the heroine not just she swallows or cries two tears then the rest is vengeance and sleeping with the new Hero. It ruins the whole book when the emotions are not involved.

It’s okay, but short.

**SPOILERS**

Grace comes home early and finds her husband sleeping with her sister. She doesn’t scream doesn’t throw a tantrum, she leaves and calls Dylan, her sister’s husband. She tells Dylan about Megan, his wife and Connor her husband’s affair, he listens and tells her he found a phone with proof of Megan’s cheating. They devise a plan together. Grace wants Connor completely ruined, and Dylan wants Megan to leave with nothing per prenup agreement he had her sign, it has an infidelity clause. Grace goes home, plants cameras and captures the affair real time. At a dinner where all the family is in attendance she shows the messages and videos! Connor is horrified and tries to tell Grace it was a mistake. Megan is furious and tries to say the recordings are fake, no one believes her. Grace moves on with Dylan. She opens her own firm and steadily dates Dylan. Connor loses everything and is disinherited by his father. Megan moves back home, and gets nothing because of the prenup she signed. The book ends with Dylan proposing to Grace.

**THOUGHTS/OPINIONS**

This is how a good cheating husband revenge arc should look like! The FMC is not a doormat or a wimp. She systematically gathers evidence and destroys her cheating husband and awful sister. Too many books have the FMC forgiving the awful cheating sisters…but the fact remains that the scheming sisters did not make a mistake, they CHOSE to ruin their sister’s lives, and steal their husbands! It’s a choice you make to cheat! A choice you make to betray your loved ones. There is no forgiveness in that. Grace shouldn’t feel obligated to forgive her sister merely because she’s her sister and she has always given her sister everything she has wanted. Grace chose herself, she chose Dylan, and that’s the way it ought to be. I would’ve given this book more stars if it had been longer. It was kinda short. Dylan and Grace’s courtship was too short, and I would’ve enjoyed an epilogue where they’re married with kids. I would’ve also enjoyed seeing Megan even more dismantled! Megan always had her parents love, the mom always preferred her. I would’ve liked to have seen her in a homeless shelter or something (lol). That’s where rats belong!

My Sister's Affair with My Husband, part of the Marriage in Crisis series, was about 28-year-old Grace (Darling) Vandermann, a brand redesigner, her (soon-to-be-ex) husband, 28-year-old Connor Vandermann, who took credit for her work but did nothing to earn it (he was co-owner of the business, but played video games rather than work), and her (soon-to-be-ex) brother-in-law, Dylan Kingsley, the CEO of various businesses (his age was never given).

Grace and Connor had been together for nine years and were three weeks from celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary when she arrived home two days early as a surprise for him. Except, she was the one who was surprised by the sounds of her husband coming from their bedroom...and the returned moans of her 26-year-old sister, Megan. Instead of confronting them head-on, she called Megan's husband of two years, Dylan, and together, they planned the demise of both of their marriages. In the process of building their exit strategy, Grace learned that Megan had trapped Dylan with a fake pregnancy. Their union hadn't been because of love.

The night of the big reveal went as planned, with Dylan and Grace walking away while the room was still in chaos.

The book was one of this author's better works, and although I don't condone cheating in any form, the way Dylan and Grace found their HEA together was worth reading about. I gave this story a three-star rating.

This was a gentle revenge plot about a wronged sister. Yes, she destroyed lives in one swift move but there was no pizzaz. There was no needling, no getting the cheaters on the backfoot, not making their lives difficult for a period of time before the denouement. Call me petty but I love that shit.

All very low key. And no I wasn't expecting nor did I want FMC blowing up stuff, but everything was too calm, even when they were running out of time to the big night and didn't have the key evidence yet.

I noticed that all the male characters were more developed than the female ones - they were interesting with back stories. And people stayed in relationships for stupid reasons. Plus there was this weird bubble where nothing happened and there was little sense of what these characters did and their engagement with others. Or maybe that was me quickly reading in my lunch break.

This is all that was wrong with the book "Hey babe, when you coming home? I’m hungry. It’s four-fifteen, Connor can’t make a sandwich, and the system has worked for him for nine years. I sit up, and Dylan lets me go without protest."
If you go home when you husband calls to make him a snack, the problem isn't only with him. The enabler doesn't get a pass

okay story

This story had some small editing mistakes but had the most consistency.

Sad but this was one time I wasn’t really on the FMC’s side she was a hypocrite. Yes they were cheated on but it doesn’t make it right to do that same thing and call it okay…it’s not especially since she was still sharing a bed with her legal husband .

And her watching a camera she placed to “catch” her husband while lying in another man’s bed is cringey af.

I honestly thought maybe they would get caught before the whole unveiling. I was waiting for Meghan to show up at his Condo

And then not even a year after divorced ….engaged seriously too soon

I actually kind of felt bad for her husband yes he was not redeemable but she was such a hypocrite and needs a little karma of her own

I LOVE revenge by slide show to all the family and friends. This one wasn't as effective as others I've read that use the same method, with the characters playing almost the same scenes. It even has the broken ex-husband coming by her place, drunk, sitting outside her door, begging her to just talk to him. The writing is OK. Is it AI? Probably, or some combo.

This is more of a love story with too much sex between the two betrayed spouses. Only one chapter is given over to the revenge. Yes, there's cheating. I loved their sweet morning after breakfast. Way too much sex though but gotta fill those pages with something.

Funny side note: I see that there are many, many books in this series with this author and other co-authors. Many seem to involve the husband and wife's sister. Hilarious. There are not that many possible plots in all of romance-world; just different names.

Not for me

Better written than some in this series in that I hardly detected inconsistencies. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get over the fact that the main characters had a sexual connection while still married to other spouses. Yes, their respective spouses had already cheated, but they too broke their vows. I would have preferred they took the higher road and waited until the path for an honest relationship was clear.

It’s Entertaining

This story is consistent with the overall series. It hit the betrayal and revenge beats. The female lead has a satisfying HEA with her former BIL instead of her cheating ex. It’s also 12 chapters and moves along quickly without getting bogged down by the cheating sister’s antics.

Out of the wreckage, a plant blooms.

A well written story about infidelity and betrayal and its lethal consequences for the perpetrators. I think this book was re-written. I've read it before with a similar story but with grammatical errors and plot errors. Most books in this series, I believe has been re-written, which is a good thing because its a 1000% improvement.

Very good!

Grace married Conner. He didn't know how to appreciate her and took credit for her work. His betrayal with her sister nearly broke Grace, but she found someone better, Dylan who happened to be her brother-in-law!

It’s a very well written book and I enjoyed reading it. I love when the cheating gets exposed in such a big way and then the female main character does a glow up and finds a better man.

Why couldn't MFC get her act together before jumping into bed with the new guy? There's an pick factor to swapping spouses.
