Julio and Marianna have been together since they were sixteen years old, and Julio has never loved someone the way he loves Marianna, but when he cheats on her, he isn’t sure what’s going to happen with their relationship, but he’d do anything to keep her.
Marianna has watched Julio be the best husband and father pretty much their entire lives together, so when he admits to cheating on her, her emotions are less than predictable. She doesn’t want to give up the only man she ever loved, but ultimately, the decision is hers, and she isn’t sure what to do.
TW: cheating, you need to know that before you dare to open the first page. Something to keep in mind as step into Julio and Marianna story. Although brief.
Infidelity is challenging to work through. I believe we need positive works to show the complicated and difficult relationships and the effects of cheating.
I have the biggest mixed feelings with the cheating trope. I think the cheating trope can be complicated. But when it’s done in such a way, I think it can be almost healing. I loved she addressed one of the most important things. Communication and open honesty. Understanding the damage that was done.
One of the biggest things I loved how she shows is honesty and healthy communication, while also bringing forth the neglect and how lonely they both felt. I think when you go into this book, the intent isn’t to condone cheating. But just the discussion of the human experience, there are people who managed to work through the problem and moved forward. It’s not simple or even in anyway easy.
My favorite part, Marianna takes her power back in such a beautiful way. That’s right girl you make that man BEG! Deliciously done! Make him beg to ever touch you again.
I despise the cheating trope in books. Yet this one made the cut. I think it had to due with the fact that it wasn’t focused around it or mentioned a lot.
This novella is under 70 pages and told within a 24 hr timeframe. I loved how they communicated with one another, trying to understand where they both started to slowly neglect one another in their marriage. Their communication was refreshing, there was no room for miss communication. The connection between Marianna & Julian was undeniably hot and not to mention his slutty little glasses & cadena 😏 Marianna took charge and had him begging ✨
I’m not a fan of the cheating thing and I think she should have made him suffer but alas I adore the author so what can I do but read everything she writes?
