Big Mama, Give Me A Chance

Rate this book
Zay Briggs spent years in the cold world of corporate before he realized he wasn’t happy. He searches for a purpose more fulfilling than the heavy family legacy he was born to uphold. A accidental collision at his stepmother’s gala introduces him to Kali.

Kali is a woman whose deep chocolate skin and framed glasses command an authority that stops him in his tracks. While Zay is used to effortless charm, Kali sees nothing but an arrogant "lil' brother" with a questionable haircut.
But Zay is his father’s son. He doesn't see a woman defined by her age, he sees a masterpiece he is determined to win, and he has no intention of taking "no" for an answer.

Kali is a powerhouse who has finally reached her limit with the toxic cycles and "crumbs" of her past relationship with Mazi. Between managing the daily operations of a women’s shelter and soothing her three-year-old son, Bennie, she has zero patience for Zay.

However, as they co-plan a wellness center, she realizes Zay isn't just a corporate runaway; he is a man with a "spark" who sees her strength as an invitation rather than an intimidation.
Together, they must navigate a web of secrets and broken promises to realize that while they started at different chapters, they are finally ready to write a future that belongs only to them.

Zay & Kali

This was a good slow-burn, age gap romance. I loved Zay. He was just trying to find his way after the death of his father and learning to let go from a past relationship. When he set his sites on Kali, he was determined to make her his even though she was older than he was. Kali was feisty and was trying to live again after giving her all to a relationship that was going no where. I was glad she was doing something for herself and being the great mom that she was. Bennie, the 3 year old dinosaur connoisseur, was hilarious! This was another good read by Kim K.

They meet each other and she couldn’t stand Zay at first but then they became more together because of the project. Big Mama, Give Me A Chance

This book was a cute read filled with growth a self discovery. I loved the age gap between Zay and Kali. Zay knew what and who he wanted as soon as he played eyes on her. I’m glad that he let her go at her own pace and allowed the relationship to organically develop. I liked the fact that Tori and Zay’s past didn’t cause any friction between his relationship with Kali or the two of them. It was refreshing to read a story where everyone was being mature adults and there wasn’t a lot of drama involved.

I ain’t get far tbh. There’s just certain things I don’t like when reading & i read something I didn’t like & decided to drop the book.

The step mama?? Really? Daddy still fresh in the grave. & then you looking at the step mama friend too?? Not my cup of tea. All of this & the FMC didn’t even pop up yet.

Said yes to the mess…

Kim K. gave us another messy good time. There were a lot of toxic entanglements that had to fizzle out for Zay to get to something more solid. It hits on grief and second chances at happiness. Kali is 16 years older than Zay but he still brought the BDE through. You’ll enjoy the ride…

ARC REVIEW!!!
Zay was dealing with a lot especially with the death of his father and his ex girlfriend Alicia cheating and dealing with drugs. Then Kali dealing with a man who’s a deadbeat father to her son. I related to her character a lot. Glad she gave Zay a chance.

**ARC Review**

This was a very cute read. I’m not gone lie, I was rooting for that cellar transaction to continue and turn into something else. But once that wine was spilled, I was like yeah…. Here we go!!! From beginning to end I was hooked.

A spin I didn’t see coming!

so from the title, I thought we were clearly going to be focused on a BBW however, I was surprised at the FMC for the book. I do love a book where the FMC has an epiphany and decides to live life for her.
