Clarkesworld: Year Seven was edited by Neil Clarke and Sean Wallace and published by Wyrm Publishing on March 23, 2015.
Clarkesworld Year Six blew me away. It retaught me what science fiction could be and what independent magazines could be. Clarkesworld Year Seven, however, did not do this. In Six I had dozens of memories of complex, interesting, groundbreaking moments and worldbuilding details. In Seven, I could a handful of memorable ones. Yoon Ha Lee was great as always, and de Bodard, Theodora Goss, and Lisa L Hannett had great tales, but the rest were lackluster. I really hope Year Eight has what Six gave me. Was this anthology bad? Of course not, but it left me too often bored or confused.
