Such a missed opportunity to have Molly as the point of view character. Instead we get boring Jane.

My five year old liked this one and asked for it a few times.
I think he liked that it was Mermaids.
He also liked the Mystery.
The first time reading he was excited to guess what the mystery was.
The other times we read it he just enjoyed it.
It has nice drawings.
It has a good picture to sentences ratio.
It is a good length too.
