Although this is book two in the collection, it can be read as a standalone or the first in the series.

For most of his adult life, Jon dedicated his life to the church, finding solace in helping others, but there has always been something missing. Up until now, he's been able to push that aside and move forward, letting everyone think he's happy and doing what he loves.

Ash doesn't want to continue with life. Left behind to live a cold and empty life after his partner died in a tragic accident, he doesn't see any future for himself. He goes through the motions of living, but inside he’s ready to give up. All that's left behind is the anger and hurt he has inside him.

Finding comfort in each other's company, the two men struggle with emotions, guilt and fears about the future. Confiding only in each other, they grow closer, both denying the bond building between them, and a past that won't let them move on.

*** What a stunning tale of a priest questioning his calling, *** and a man dealing with his long-time partners death. Whether a priest, a photographer, whoever you are, you are still human.
Ash has come to Ireland for Zach and Killian's wedding, and meets Jon, the local priest. Each man is struggling with his own issues, and they seem to have a connection where they can help each other. Ash is a tall, 6' 4", long-haired beautiful man,

grieving heavily for his loss.
Jon, 5'7", shaggy hair and scruff, priest,

has been questioning his happiness with his choice of service to the Church. When he and Ash talk, the inner battle to squash the desire, has begun for each of them.
This is a long, but absorbing story, and we are excited to turn each page. Superbly written, with deeply thought-filled characters, and an amazing plot line that flows steadily.

The two men strike a deal to help each other with the pictures for the Church's upcoming celebration of it's anniversary. Throughout this process they get closer, yet respect each other's space. Even while they deny each other's attraction,
( Ash has a tattoo of St. Michael's wings )

they do become closer, and become friends.
Their sexy times later in the book are off the charts super hot, and up until then, the anticipation is delicious.

Through conversation, help from friends, and their internal musings, we learn so much. Along with the two men's struggles, we have our newlyweds contemplating adopting a baby, and Killian's Mom, Eve, doing some manipulating.

I highly recommend this wonderful tale of deep, life changing decisions, and how to let go and become happy with life.
ENJOY !!

This is book two, and I FEEL these books should be read in order. Horizontal Analysis is a good base story for what is to come in this story.

WOW!!!! Where do I begin?
First off I fell in love with this book from the very beginning, I cannot remember the last time I read a book that I went through so many emotions, and u s you will need tissues.
Jon is a priest for over 10 years he loves his church and serving God but lately he's been having thoughts of loneliness and unsure of his future. We meet Jon in book #1 Horizontal Analysis.
Jon is always there for everyone helping and healing so when at Killian and Zach's wedding he notices Ash standing at the side and he sees pain and hurt.
Ash is in Ireland attending his best friend Zach's wedding but he is living a life of pain and hurt after losing his partner of 7 years only a few months ago.
Jon struggles to help Ash who is so closed off and hardly living but in the process the chemistry between these two is undeniable.
Jon and Ash have a lot to work out between them both the journey there at times becomes almost too much.
Will Jon be able to admit his feelings towards Ash?
Will Ash be able to let go of Derrick, and find love again?
Im not going on anymore because this is a journey everyone needs to experience the writing between Nicole and E.M. Is brilliant whereas I felt as if I was right there with them I felt what they were feeling.
This is one of the most beautiful love stories that I have ever read I didn't want it to end.
Oh and we get to hear from Eve Killian's Mam again and she will have you in stitches.
So yes don't hesitate go one click this amazing book today and experience this beautiful story. I wish I could give this so many more than Five Stars.

A Joyfully Jay review.

Though this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. We met Jon in the first book, Horizontal Analysis, when he helped Zach deal with survivor’s guilt when Killian’s ex died. Though Zach, Killian, and Killians’ mom Eve play roles in this book, the authors give readers plenty of background information so that you do not necessarily have to have read the first in order to appreciate this book.

I appreciated that the authors handled the sexual relationship with care. Neither Ash nor Jon was ready emotionally for a sexual relationship until they dealt with the demons they each carried. Therefore, until those issues are dealt with, there is no hanky-panky other than a kiss and some fantasizing. Afterwards, all bets are off as the two begin to discover one another.

Out of the two books in the series, I have to say I loved this one the best. There was more angst and emotions, not only with the main characters, but with secondary characters like Zach and Killian as they contemplated moving forward in their new relationship as a married couple. It felt more genuine and realistic.

Overall, this was a great love story about how two men faced their demons individually with the support and friendship of one another. It’s a story about letting go and moving forward, even when you aren’t sure what you are moving towards. I hope the authors continue this series!

Independent Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock, I was given this book in exchange for my review.

I have say, I have not ever read a book with a priest questioning his faith, no, not his faith, because that isn't in doubt, its his CALLING he is questioning. This was a first for me, but oh gosh! What a first!

We met Jon at the end of book one, he blessed Killian and Zach's wedding. Though a Catholic priest, Killian is his childhood friend, and although he knows the Church's stance, it is his own that leads him to bless their marriage. We didn't meet Asher, but he was mentioned. He lost his partner of 7 years 4 months before and is still hurting. He did not want to attend the wedding, but Zach was HIS childhood friend and he arrived, heavy of heart.

Jon has been unhappy for some time, and although Ash is a catalyst, he isn't the reason. Ash's closeness puzzles Jon, infuriates him, turns him on like no other. Ash makes friends with Jon, knowing thats all it can be, friendship. But as Jon and Ash get closer, and closer, the attraction grows and bubbles and has to boil over at some point.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I am totally and utterly in love with these people. Killian and Zach, and Mammy and Da play a huge part in this one and I am so happy they did. Mammy knows Jon isn't happy, but Jon won't admit it to himself, he won't say the words that need saying, not until Killian corners him before leaving for his honeymoon. Ash wants to run, but Zach persuades him to stay in the village until he gets back. 3 weeks, thats all. But those three weeks have such a profound affect on him, and on Jon, indeed on ME too.

I can't word what I want to say, it affected me that much. There is so much love in this book, so much pain too, and I felt it, right here in my heart **insert tapping chest to emphasize my point** I felt every time Ash was hit by the urge to run, every time Jon wanted to touch Ash in ways he shouldn't, COULDN'T. Every time Mammy did her soul piercing glare at either of them. And I felt it when they gave into each that first and beautiful time. I should say though, they did nothing but kiss before Jon made his decision, and I appreciated that. Why I did, I really don't know, but the fact that they did only kiss before, struck a chord with me. Again, I'm struggling to word what I want to say.

The emotions of both Jon and Ash jump out of every page. Jon's especially make for difficult reading. And I did wonder if there was some input from a priest who had gone through a similar situation as Jon did. Its too raw, too real, too......ARGH!!! OH, I'm so lost for words!

Okay, wrapping up, I loved this book, I love these people, I know there is a book three planned, and I'm not entirely sure who stars in that one, but I have an idea. I just hope we get more of Killian, Zach (because they have a massive decision on their hands in this book!), Jon and Ash, Mammy and Da too.

ONE MORE POINT Being bought up a Catholic, there was nothing, absolutely NOTHING in this book that offended me. Some people might find there is, but for me, nope, nothing.

5 full and shiny stars.

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

4.5 Stars

Book 2 in the Sinful Temptation series follows on from Horizontal Analysis and sees Zach and Killian settled in Ireland and celebrating their marriage with friends and family.

One of those friends from Killian’s childhood is Jon, now a priest in his hometown who has dedicated most of his adult life to the Catholic Church. All outward appearances would lead you to believe that Jon is happy in his life serving the small community he lives in but appearances often cover up the truth. Jon is still devoted to his religious beliefs but recently he has been feeling unsettled and questioning his happiness. As he looks at his best friend and his husband why does he feel like he is missing out on something?

Ash is a friend of Zach’s from America and Zach is truly surprised to see him at the wedding reception. Nobody has seen him for months since he just up and left his home and travelled aimlessly when his partner was killed by a drunk driver. Ash is in a bad place both mentally and emotionally. He is running to stay ahead of his grief never stopping too long in the same place to prevent him from having to face the realities of his life.

As a priest and a compassionate man Jon recognises Ash’s pain from the moment he sets eyes on him and feels drawn to helping him in any way he can. What he doesn’t count on is feeling drawn to him on a more personal level making him feel even more confused over the path his life is currently taking. Ash is cold and closed off and refuses to talk about his dead partner or any part of his previous life but he recognises that he could do with a friend and Jon fits the bill.

This is a story of struggles. There is overwhelming grief and sadness from Ash and he has become determined not to face his problems. Jon is struggling with everything he knows and believes in and when faced with Ash his resolve and decision making for his future is made both more difficult and clearer. This is quite a slow story in some respects as neither man is able to confront and deal with their problems overnight.

Whenever I read one of Nicole’s books there is always a character I clearly prefer and in Absolution it was Jon. His faith was strong, not something I really identify with personally, but his life went in a particular direction due to events from his past. I think whatever path he had chosen in life he would have made a success of as he was such a loving and compassionate man. He had a kind of innocence about him that allowed him to just throw his feelings out there and for a long time in this story he didn’t really get anything back. With his dogged determination he hung in there even when it had to hurt, it was a long drawn out process as he fought with his inner demons, but in the end he truly loved Ash and that became the most important thing.

This book took me on a roller coaster ride that spanned all the emotions. I stayed up very late at night reading until the wee hours of the morning, devouring every single word that was written. The words that are written on the pages of this book hit my heart like an arrow, piercing it, leaving me gasping for air, and struggling to wipe away my tears as I read Jon and Ash's individual responses to each other. The ending is one of the most beautifully written scenes I have ever read. I could absolutely relate to both Ash, who is struggling to stay connected to his deceased lover, and Jon, who is struggling with his attraction to a man with a broken heart. They both fight the attraction to each other, but are helpless to prevent it. Jon's vow of celibacy is tested, questioned, and eventually reconciled. Difficult, life altering decisions are examined, and eventually made as Jon tries to come to terms with his undeniable attraction to the beautiful, talented photographer, Asher. He has taken a vow to God, and sworn his life to His service. What does a lonely priest, who loves his congregation do, when a man captures his attention like no other?
Asher is angry, alone, and has isolated himself from friends and family after the death of his partner. The counsel, love and acceptance he receives from Jon sends him on his own journey of healing and self discovery.
Together, they face the future, examine their own self imposed limits of personal growth, and come together to face the life meant to be experienced by those who are brave enough to grab life by the horns, and experience all that the world has to offer.

Please Read This One After the First One!

SPOILER ALERT: The publisher states that even though this is the second in the series, you can read the it as a stand-alone. DO NOT DO THAT! This is a much slower-paced, far more detailed and introspective tale that requires total recognition of the three main characters from "Horizontal Analysis," Killian, Zach, and Killian's off-the-wall mother, Eve.

Introduced by reference in the first book, Asher comes to Ireland to keep running from the tragic death of his partner while attending the wedding of his best friend, Zach, to Killian, in Killian's small hometown in Ireland. Across the wedding tent he spots Jon, who is the town's priest, and Jon more than spots him--he is taken aback by his erotic reaction, and we are on our way to a beautifully detailed, deeply psychological, and eventually viable and sweetly played out romance. Like the first book, the cover depicts Jon and Ash perfectly.

Some might complain that the authors took too much time digging into the hang-ups and other personality defects of Ash and Jon, but the manner in which these are played out, and tabled or solved, will keep you from frustration. The book ends on a high, and the Epilogue is quite long and cunning and in the end absolutely perfect. What I'm wondering is.....what's next for this expanding family of terrific characters.

(One editing note: There are quite a few instances when someone is speaking in paragraphs where the open quotes are missing at the beginning of the paragraphs. Fire the copy editor).

I normally do not read books that religion is a main theme in the story, those books aren’t my cup of tea. However, I read the first book in this series and loved it and felt that I would give this book a shot even though I knew religion would be a focal point. Ash’s fiancé was killed in a car accident and he isn’t dealing well with that, he is running. Jon joined the church as a father 11 years ago, at times he feels like there is something missing but he has always pushed that feeling aside to help and care for people. As time moves on Jon knows what is missing from his life, he just doesn’t know how to deal with that and if he should make the move to have the full life he wants but doesn’t think he deserves. Ash and Jon start a friendship that gradually leads to them both wanting more but not sure how to go about that because they both has so much guilt and doubt and things from their past that they need to move on from. I was able to connect with both characters and could feel both of their emotions. At times the story moved a little slow but that slowness was a great build up. We also got to see Killian and Zach from the first book and also Killian’s crazy mom and dad too. This was an emotional story and I loved it, I loved watching Ash heal and Jon deciding to do what he needs to be happy. Highly recommend this book.
Characters: well written and believable

Following straight on from the previous book in the series, this takes us to Ireland, where Killian's family live. Here we revisit the couple, although mostly Killian; Zach is a faint figure for some reason.

The parish priest Jon, is having a crisis and the sight of Zach's grieving friend Ash at the wedding reception throws all his doubts into bright relief. Through the book we get to understand the issues that a celibate gay catholic priest would feel and how he plans on resolving the issues Ash has made him face. Ash is struggling with his own demons, although we get to see less of the impact that maybe we do with Jon. I though that this was done well, but it was for me, overly long. I also struggled with some of the pronoun issues, which made working out which of the two of them the his, him, he referred to at that second. Parts of it were without a doubt, scorchingly hot and incredibly romantic - and very addictive reading! I enjoyed the side stories, there was a decent plot, I just think it could have been more concise.

The topics were serious, dealt with carefully and with style. I am interested to know where this series will go next.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

Jon has been a priest for ten years. He's devoted to God and his parish. Lately he feels like something is missing from his life. He shouldn't want for anything but he does. He longs for a life that can't have. He hates how lonely he feels while those around him are living and he's just existing.

Ash comes to Ireland for his friend, Zach. He doesn't want to be there watching his best friend be happy with his husband, Killian. Asher is just getting over the unexpected death of his partner, Derrick, a few months before.

Jon offers to help Ash, be there when he is ready to talk. While their friendship grows so does the unexpected feelings they have toward each other.

Great follow-up to Horizontal Analysis. I enjoyed the inclusion of Zach and Killian into Jon and Asher's story. There was so much build up in this story. It's the ultimate taboo read for a catholic girl and I loved it. At times I wanted things to progress much faster but I loved the path it took. It's emotional and sexy. I really enjoyed this read. Can't wait for more from this duo.

Oh, wow! This book needs more pimping.

Seriously I don't know how to rate this book. It was too freaking long, but written beautifully about a soul searching, of a broken heart man and a Priest who's still seeking the answer of his 11 years of his vow to serve God. If only the authors shorten this a little bit, and Asher's constant denials about his attraction to Jon didn't overwhelm me, I probably gave this 5 stars.
Jon was being too nice, to sweet for his own sake. And I hope for Ash to gave more respect in Jon's sacrifices for the love he has for Ash.

It was quite good from the beginning, I cried at some scene. I understand that, it's never easy to move on after the death of your spouse. It was only 5 months after losing Derrick, and I guess,it makes sense for his 'still grieving' state.
I love Eve, she can be a devil and an angel at the same time. There were some Killian and Zach, and their first fight after the honeymoon (that's why, you can't read it as a stand alone without reading many spoilers here and there).

Overall, this is a good story, and you will enjoy it , especially if you're one of those who love a very long novel.I enjoyed reading it, shred a few tears and a sigh of happiness for a good epilogue.

I admit, I was skeptical about the promise of a great story. I mean, come on... a priest?

But the story surprises with the way each of the main characters brings their own baggage into the mix, and the believability (is that even a word? Well, it is for now!) of the conflicts and actions between them.

I am not going to delve too deep into the story because the blurb is very much self explaining.

But I do admit there were a few points in the story where I just want to grab either Ash or Jon, and shake some sense into them.

I am even going as far as to admit one specific chapter actually made me cry. *narrows eyes at the authors*

Overall, you are in for a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish, so be prepared.

Excellent sequel

This story had it all...romance, angst, humor, hot hunky men and lots of great sex. Asher whose partner was killed in the previous book, meets Jon the parish priest where Killian and Zach are having their wedding reception. Both men running from their pasts, both not dealing well with life, both hiding from themselves. What develops first is a friendship, a bit of sass and snarkiness, but Jon is patient and willing to wait for Asher to talk about his demons. Jon must also face his past and the choices he made. In turning to one another, they begin a journey of healing and discovery, on their way to love. Incredibly well written, emotional and romantic. This book has it all!

Yes it was great!
One of the best books i read :) The subject of a Catholic Pastor falling in love and questioning his calling (not his fate) had me interested, haven't read anything like that yet. It was a great read with a slow build up, character development and although the attraction was immediately the sex wasn't until much later in the story. Very believable.

As I indicated in one of my updates, this picture pretty much captures this book.

This is a book about doubt, about grief, about running from things you want to avoid, about accepting your past and welcoming your future.  It is an emotional journey into the lives of two men, Jon and Ash, who are drawn to each other in unbelievable ways.  Their friendship and love for each other is truly amazing.

This is a slow burn book.  Told from both POV's, we get to know the heart and soul of these men and how their desires for each other must be controlled.  One is a priest and the other is grieving the loss of his partner.  It is very well done...there is no rush to fullfill their desires, but understanding that they must first be free to love each other before acting on the physical.

My only complaint is the length...it is long and many of the passages feel repetitive in nature.  And there is a side story which honestly is not necessary, although short.

This is technically the second in a series and while the couple from Book 1 is present, it still can be read as a standalone.

Oh - and while much is this book takes place in a religious environment, it is not preachy.  There is no negative outlook towards being gay...only acceptance.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

This was a slo-o-o-ow burn. It’s over 400 pages, so it has room to be a slow burn. And with the issues both MCs have, it wouldn’t have felt right any other way.

Ash is an American, dealing with the death of a longtime partner/fiancée. Jon is an Irish priest. See the dilemma? I do love me a taboo story. The authors did a great job in portraying the struggle with both men. Jon is bound to the church, while Ash is bound to a dead lover. They fight with themselves, feeling guilty over their attraction for the other.

The setting is small-town Ireland. Not much Irish brogue in the dialogue, but I would have loved to have seen it. The narration is 3rd person omniscient, which I love.

The story starts a bit slow, with major appearances by the couple from the first book. I didn’t read the first book, but I’m sure I would have felt closer to those characters if I had.

Great secondary characters, especially Eve, who is especially close to Jon.

Recommended for those who love a very slow burn, angst within the characters, taboo relationships, hurt/comfort, and a very sweet HEA.

A priest and a widower.

This book was very touching. Both characters damaged by life and their choices. One holding on to the pain of the past, needing it to justify going on. The other questioning the decisions of the past, needing answers to justify those decisions. I liked these guys together. At times the angst was to much, but the book is well worth reading.

I received one copy of this book at no charge in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

John entered the priesthood 10 years ago but lately feels like there is something missing in his life. His faith is strong, he loves the church and his congregation, and he loves what he does on a day to day basis. He can't quite put a finger on what is not quite right with his life.

Ash is ready to give up on life after losing his partner of 7 years only a few months ago. He is angry and hurt and just doesn't want to live life without his one true love.

The two meet at Zach and Killian's wedding and John is instantly drawn to Ash. He feels a need to help him overcome his sorrow and learn to cope with his grief. Ash is more than willing to help John work on a church photography project but that is where his ambition ends. He will not discuss his late partner, his grief, his past or anything that would be deemed 'emotional'.

Absolution is incredibly well written and watching these two men open up to each other and bond with each other truly touched my heart. John's physical attraction to Ash starts early but he knew he was gay...that wasn't a surprise. What shocks him is that he feels anything at all. Putting aside his physical needs for the priesthood was not difficult for him...over the years he had no interest in anyone physically. I was a little worried about how the sexual nature of their relationship would be handled but the authors did a spectacular job. There are a few kisses, some solo fantasies..but that's it for much of the book. When John finally realizes that he wants to leave the church, they begin exploring the physical side of their relationship. I think I might have preferred it wait until John was completely gone from that life but they at least waited til the paperwork was started.

I don't think there is anything in this book that was at all offensive to my 'religious' leanings. I loved that John was accepting of homosexuality despite traditional beliefs of the church and he was an all around wonderful character. Very thought provoking idea of a gay priest who firmly believes that love is love!

Ash's pain was devastating and it really grabbed me right from the page. Seeing how close he was to giving up was heart breaking and his refusal to discuss his partner's loss with anyone had me very frustrated with him. As he and John became closer and closer, I couldn't believe he didn't realize that he had fallen in love with John.

Things I loved about Absolution: The sexual tension is off the charts so when they do get together things are incredibly hot! The emotions truly shine through in this story. John's need for MORE out of his life, Ash's pain over losing his partner, the love that develops slowly over time...those emotions are practically palpable in this book. The ending made me cry. Yes, sometimes a good cry at the end of a book is a positive thing!

Things I think might need a bit of work: There were a few editing errors. Not horribly written type errors but general typos. Enough that I noticed them but they didn't interfere in my enjoyment of the book. I also think it was really a tad TOO long. John and Ash talk quite a bit about their feelings. That's a good thing but I think maybe it went on a bit too long.

Overall, Absolution by E.M. Leya and Nicole Colville was a fabulous and very moving romance!

Jon is a priest who isn't have so much as a crisis of faith, as he still believes, so much as a crisis of career. Ash has lost his long-term partner a few months ago and is still grieving his loss. The wedding reception of Zach and Killian (the heroes from the first book in the series) are a catalyst for these two troubled men.

Ash is jealous that Zach and Killian have what he will never have, they are just about to start their new life together as a married couple and have a future to look forward to. Ash and Derrick never got the chance to get married and all Ash has to look forward to in the future is an empty life and an empty bed. He's been running since Derrick's death, his work as a freelance photographer enabling him to travel as much as he likes and he doesn't stay too long in one place.

Jon sees Ash and can sense straightaway that the young man is troubled and he wants to help him. Jon too is a little jealous of Zach and Killian and their life together. He's been a priest for a long time and thought that was all he wanted. But he sees friends and family getting married, having families of their own, travelling and living their lives. His own life feels very stale and lonely, with only his housekeeper to see every few days. He has his parishioners, of course and he wants to look after them, and does the best he can. But lately, he feels there is something missing and he doesn't quite know what it is.

Jon and Ash have both been running for a long time: Ash from his grief over Derrick, and Jon from his own homosexuality. He and his first boyfriend were caught kissing at school; Joe's family blamed Jon for leading their son astray and moved away, taking Joe with them. Jon ran from home and finally ended up running to the priesthood.

Ash engenders feelings in him he never thought he'd have again. When he said his vows and committed himself to the Church, he meant it. But with Ash, he feels a strong lust that he hasn't felt for years.

I think I prefer this book over the first one. It's more of a character-driven book than plot-driven, not that that is a bad thing, it's just different. These two characters do feel lust for each other, and maybe something more, but they do not jump straight into bed with each other, which for these two characters is very believable. Jon is still struggling with his vows and Ash with his grief. There is some delicious UST throughout the book, though, so it feels sexy, even if there isn't a lot of sex.

It's well-written but does have its problems. There is a lot of introspection and navel-gazing going on, and after a while reading another passage about Jon's guilt and struggle and Ash's thoughts on whether or not he was cheating on Derrick by liking Jon got a little repetitive. The book could have done with being a wee bit shorter. We know the emotions these two characters are struggling with, we don't need to be told it again and again and again.

But all in all I enjoyed it and the characters stay with you even after the book is finished.

It can stand on its own, but I'd suggest you read the first one, Horizontal Analysis, first to get to know some of the previous characters beforehand.

Absolution is the second book in the Sinful Temptation series by authors E.M. Leya and Nicole Colville. This is a standalone book even though it is part of a series. This book also has a taboo subject, not all readers will be comfortable with.
Jon is a catholic priest. He loves gardening, he feels that the priesthood might not be where he should be right now. He is lonely wants someone to share his life with. He wants to be a good priest but how can he when his heart is not in it?
Asher: Best friends with Zach from Sinful temptations, 1. His partner of seven years was taken from him in a car crash. He has been running from his family and friends ever since. But Zach’s wedding makes him come out and see him. Ash would like nothing better than to keep right on running forever but his feelings for a certain priest make him stay.
In this book Jon has to find himself. He has to decide what he really wants to do with his life. Ash has that same dilemma on a different level. He has to learn to move on once the love of his life dies. They both have a lot to let go of before they can come together.
I personally loved this book, there is such great emotional connection with these characters. I just could not stop reading it. I liked how they could help each other get over what was needed. Like they are perfect halves of a whole. I would love to read more in the Sinful Temptation series in the future I hope there are many more to come.

Four stars!
This book was so good. The first “sex” scene where Jon masturbates is difficult to read. You can feel his shame for what he’s thinking while self pleasuring. It hurts to watch him have such a huge crisis of faith. Eve is still a spitfire in this book and up to some of her crazy antics. However I think she pushes just a bit too much at times in this book. I fear she’s going to push Killian away with her meddling. She does mean well. The middle started to drag a bit with the constant back and forth of Jon and Ash being together, but not, but wanting to be, but can’t. However it picked up before I was ready to throw in the towel. I loved how Jon and Ash work hard to be friends before they got physical with each other. Watching Jon come alive throughout the book was wonderful. I’m interested to know more about a few things that were left unsaid in the book. They’re not huge plot points that are unfulfilled. Just my never ending curiosity and wanting more from good characters. I’m glad Jon and Ash are happy at the end but they still have a long road to go. They’re so good together so you can tell they’re going to be happy together for a long time. I really like how they handled Jon’s decisions. He makes the right ones for himself, and I like how he came about the choice. He did it for the right reasons and not because of base urges.

4.5 Stars
I first read this book about 2.5 years ago when I was an M/M newbie. My reading preferences have evolved over the years, so the sexy times alone aren't enough to hold my attention anymore. In fact, (I can't believe I'm saying this) too much sex is a turnoff, so I often skim through the hawt and heavy parts.

I read every word of this book. The slow-burn chemistry was off the chain, as was the slowly developing friendship and emotional connection between the two MCs. And I'm almost embarrassed to admit I sobbed my way through the closing epilogue. Again, dammit! Kinda ruins my tough girl image. 😇

Sometimes I have a difficult time connecting with characters. Sometimes I have to force myself to keep turning pages as I pray I'll eventually care enough about these people to feel invested in their lives and relationships. As I read the first chapter of Absolution I knew I was hooked and reading this book would be a guilty pleasure.

Are you are addicted to angst-filled romance with panty-dripping levels of sexual tension? Do you mind shedding a few unanticipated tears because the ending is unexpectedly sweet? If so, you will enjoy this book.

A final question: Priest kink anyone?

This is book two and we do have characters that lap over from book one, but I don’t think it’s necessary to read book one. And with that book coming in at over three hundred pages and this one coming in at the four hundred mark both are several day reads.
In this one we have Ash, the best friend of Zach. And Jon, Killian’s best friend, brother from childhood, Ash has been moving around, never staying anywhere for more than a few days for the last several months. Since his partner was killed in a driving accident. Jon knew at an early age he wanted to do something with the church, but an event sent him running for the priesthood in his teens but lately he has been questioning his life and his choices. As Zach and Killian go off on the honeymoon and Ash agrees to stay on to help Jon with a church project, we get the deeper details, feeling and workings of not only what happened to Ash but Jon as well. And as these two tip toe around each other the friendship becomes deeper, slowly, and even though both men are having carnal feelings about each other, they wait to act on them. It’s a great way to show us that in fact we can build a loving relationship. Friendship, and have someone understand what they've been through without all that sex. Nicely done, I did find it a little long winded in parts but over all a sweet, bonding healing story. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by Crystals Many reviews
