Bria is a homicide detective who knows nothing about the supernatural. Silas is a powerful demon who keeps lesser demons in line as they hunt souls. Bria and Silas have been locked in a tense game of cat and mouse, but when a series of murders turns up, each marked with a symbol for a cardinal sin, they are forced to team up. As the killings go on, they must race against time to catch the killer and stop a ritual that could start an apocalyptic war.
I enjoy both romance and mystery thrillers, so The Portal to the Damned was a fun book for me. I liked Silas and Bria as the main characters. Their chemistry was intense and led to some truly spicy scenes. I also liked how the supernatural world was described as Silas and Bria searched for the serial killer who wanted to start a war. I even found myself caring about many of the side characters as the story went on.
If you want a standalone book with forbidden romance and a good mystery, I definitely recommend this one.

I enjoy both romance and mystery thrillers, so The Portal to the Damned was a fun book for me. I liked Silas and Bria as the main characters. Their chemistry was intense and led to some truly spicy scenes. I also liked how the supernatural world was described as Silas and Bria searched for the serial killer who wanted to start a war. I even found myself caring about many of the side characters as the story went on.
If you want a standalone book with forbidden romance and a good mystery, I definitely recommend this one.

It is completely different from what i ussually read. it is about a detective who has to solve a case, following the clues until she discovers that the emerging deaths are part of a ritual to open the door to the other world.
it is interesting and well-constructed, but what i didn’t quite convince me is that there are too many sex scenes,which in my opinion are unnecessary.
leaving that aside, it is an interesting and well-built premise.
what i liked the most was that it is a detective novel mixed with fantasy.
This book is a 4 star read for me.

A little creepy? Absolutely. But he’s also ridiculously sexy and massive, so there’s that!
What initially appears to be a series of religiously motivated murders soon takes a much darker, supernatural turn. When Bria finally comes face-to-face with Silas, she’s thrust headfirst into a world of demons, sigils, Lucifer, and Hell on Earth.
This enemies-to-lovers romance quickly evolves into a serious case of touch her and die, and I was completely here for it. Silas’s backstory, how he lost his entire family and ultimately became a demon, was heartbreaking, and I especially enjoyed the scenes that took us into his past. They added so much depth to his character and made his relationship with Bria even more compelling.
Despite the fast pace, the relationship between Bria and Silas felt believable, and the chemistry between them was 🔥. The side characters also really stood out and added plenty to the story rather than simply fading into the background.
And the spice? Extra hot! There were some seriously steamy, horn-grabbing moments that ventured dangerously close to monster smut territory, and honestly, I’m not complaining. 😂🔥
I genuinely have nothing negative to say about this novella. My only complaint is that I desperately wish it had been a full-length novel. I wanted more of Bria and Silas, more of their story, and definitely more time in this dark, delicious supernatural world.

I loved reading Bria and Silas's story. Bria is a homicide detective, while Silas is a demon. Bria knows nothing of the supernatural world, but it begins to encroach on her workplace. In the beginning, the prologue leaves you with questions that instantly suck you into the story.
Bodies begin appearing with brands on their left hands. The crime scenes are anything but normal. Silas keeps making his appearance known. If you're into the morally grey stalker type, then you'll love him. With mystery lurking in the corners and bodies piling up, with heavy frustration, Bria and Silas form a bond.
Reading this unhold is beautiful and somewhat hilarious. You have to love when two people want each other but choose to fight it so stubbornly, but I digress. They finally start putting pieces of the case together, and the truth is a betrayal that cuts sharper than a knife.
I enjoyed the world building and the characters unfolding love interest. You even learn more of Silas's history and how he became a demon. So, if you like the paranormal side of romance with an added seven deadly sins narrative, you'll absolutely love this read.

The premise of this book drew me in instantly! I couldn't wait to dive in to this paranormal romance. The ritualistic murders based on the seven deadly sins were such a hook for me.
This is a relatively short book so it was very fast-paced for those who like to get straight in to the nitty gritty! However, for me, the book needed to be longer! I feel I needed more world building, and time to become attached to the MCs. When reading any sort of paranormal/fantasy etc type book, I find I need that time to get to know our MCs and become so invested in them, and I don't feel that a 250-300 page book allowed me the space to do that.
Picky point, but for me personally, I'm not a fan of real life references - mention of Bath & Body Work, Dr Pepper & Aldi drags me straight out of the story. Reading is escapism for me so these references aren't necessary details I need in order to enjoy a story.
HOWEVER, the smutty scenes definitely paid off, horns may be the new headboard ... iykyk👀

The FMC is a strong, determined detective, and the MMC is a morally grey demon from Hell. The cat and mouse game between the FMC and MMC felt dangerous, but also thrilling in a twisted kind of way.
The spice was intense, very descriptive, and kinky. However, it did not take away from the overall plot; searching for a possible serial killer. The plot thickens, which leaves the reader questioning and guessing, with some unexpected moments.
I really enjoyed The Portal to the Damned and I encourage those who enjoy dark romance, heavy spice, and a mystery driven plot, to add this to your TBR.

I loved this book so much! It’s short, a little spicy, kind of sweet at times, and had such an interesting plot. Bria is a detective and her stalker, Silas, is a demon. These two had great chemistry once they finally started talking and the banter…top tier. Bria is really a strong FMC and I loved her stubbornness and dedication.
The crimes Bria was investigating were based on the seven deadly sins. I love true crime shows and the plot had a kind of crime tv vibe to it, but make it paranormal. The side characters added so much to the story (loved Juno and Dorian!) and I adored sweet, starving little Muffin.

Wow, this book packed so much in for a story under 300 pages! Sometimes with quick reads certain parts feel rushed and this didn’t at all!
The story is so unique bc we’re in modern day Philly but with a fantasy aspect including demons, a portal, and hell. I’m a sucker for true crimes and this follows a homicide detective, our FMC Bria, while she is trying to solve murders associated with the seven deadly sins. Silas, our demon MMC, allies with her to help and then their relationship develops into something truly beautiful.
I loved Bria’s character. She is a badass that’s smart, strong, and fierce. Silas is sexy af, pierced, protective, caring, and he’s willing to experiment. That’s all I’ll say about that. 🥵 Just know the spice was DELICIOUS. I wanted a longer book just so I could get more of it! 🤣 🔥🔥

This book is Divinci Code meets the Rookie. Fast paced, great character backstories, Dual POV, and cat & mouse stalkers had me devouring this book in a day. The writing was descriptive and not boring.
Trauma back stories and found family build both the MMC and the FMC so they. An find a way forward. The use of lore and biblical references to show how demons and angels mess with humans.

I received a ARC copy from the author and devoured it in days. I love anything to do with the seven deadly sins and this was no different. I loved Bria and Silas and the chemistry between them was everything! This book had all the spice after a little slow burning… There were some bits of spice that were actually a bit much for me but apart from that this book was phenomenal. I really enjoyed it!

I devoured this book. I loved how this story was so action packed and genuinely had a story to tell and not all smut. It is fast paced and so easy to get sucked into the story! I genuinely had such a big “oh shit” moment when i finished the book and went back to the very beginning and re-read the prologue 🤯🤯 … i was not prepared at all to have my mind blown because i didn’t piece it together until then. OVERALL AMAZING BOOK!!!

I really enjoyed this book!I loved the supernatural crime storyline and the FMC, but let’s be honest… the broody demon stole the show for me. Give me a morally questionable, broody man any day. The FMC and her demon made this one so much fun to read! Also shout out to Juno, she was a fun side character!

A paranormal romance with vibes of the tv show Lucifer? Sign me up. This book brought me in immediately with its fast paced story, and kept me hooked all the way through. The twists were perfect, the spice was delicious, and my jaw was on the floor during the 3rd act. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I've recentl rewatched Lucifer and I was needing a book just like it and low and behold I received an arc copy of something like it! Bonus points for the fmc being a Dr. Pepper girlie!

This book kept me up late. It pulls you in and keeps you there. Not sure Id say enemies to lovers….Mystery. Thriller. Murder. Humans. Demons. Stalking. Worlds intersect.
Solving murders and intersecting realms is only the surface.
This world does have plenty of hate but there is so much beauty in an open mind and strong relationships.

I loved this so much! Serial killers and demons together? Two of my favorite things-sign me up!
I really enjoyed reading Bria and Silas’ story, along with getting to know all the side characters. The combination of dark, twisted and supernatural elements made this such a fun read.

I was selected as an ARC reader for this book. K.A. Ravensong sent us the first chapter and I am invested. I can't wait to get the rest! I do not want give anything away but the first chapter drew me in.

I really loved the characters and the overall plot of the story. The FMC was smart and snarky and really likable. The MMC was a demon after my own heart. He drew me in immediately. He is as equal parts dangerous as he is lovable. His backstory....ugh....that is all I will say. There were definitely some twists that I did not see coming. The ending was equally happy and heartbreaking just because of the emotional journey to get there and knowing what the future holds and what it will not. Sorry, trying not to give away major plot points here. Most of the side characters are likeable, especially Juno and Dorian. My only character gripe was Jared. He felt annoying and just fell flat for me, which could be totally subjective, and might be different for others.
Overall, it is a very quick read. It has mystery, romance, spice that is enough and not overbearing, demon lore, and even a bit of silliness (I am talking about you Muffin, you little traitor). I will be per-ordering a copy because the character art is awesome and recommend it to others for a quick spicy paranormal romance with mystery.

Overall, it is a very quick read. It has mystery, romance, spice that is enough and not overbearing, demon lore, and even a bit of silliness (I am talking about you Muffin, you little traitor). I will be per-ordering a copy because the character art is awesome and recommend it to others for a quick spicy paranormal romance with mystery.
