She thought suicide was the only way out. She struggled with every breath, every smile and every word she spoke. Nothing seemed to fix the overwhelming need to take the blade to her skin. Let yourself be placed in the authors shoes and begin to feel as she does as she overcomes the struggles and hardships in her life.
Sabrina Samples was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio. Even at a young age she always loved writing. She would write poetry and short stories. It wasn’t until one of her teachers submitted a poem of hers to a poetry company that she realized she wanted to write more for people to see. From that point of inspiration, she has been constantly writing. Sabrina finds motivation and desire to write in the need to leave something behind for those who come after her time. When Sabrina is not busy working on her writing she enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons, spending time with her husband and daughter. “Thank you to all of my readers. Thank you for all the support you have shown me over the years. Thank you for reading my books. If it wasn’t for you guys I wouldn’t be able to do what I do best.”
Have you ever read a book that reached down into your soul and took your hurt and crushed it so your pain was gone? This book is one that delivers powerful words of a time where all the author felt was pain. Her struggle to survive is felt through every word written. So many people are out there asking for help, a hug or just a smile . I loved how the author took a subject like suicide and depression and brought it to the surface for everyone to understand. It is not easy to overcome a painful emotional trauma in your life, but with the authors' words, you can feel healing and hope .
I'm glad I had the honor to read this inspiring book. It definitely hit home and has encouraged me to keep going and not give up. For anyone out there who struggles with depression, suicide, low self esteem or lonliness , this book is a must read. The book is honest and shares how one person who was at the darkest moment in their life found a way to believe they were valued and loved. Thank you for writing a book that truly is a story of hope, survival and healing.
The Struggle is REAL. her words have touched a cord in my heart. Thank You for writing this. Anyone who has ever struggled with depression, this is the book to read.
Like all poetry, this book is meant to be a short read. what I didn't expect was to feel everything. These poems touched me down deep in my soul. It's everything I used to feel and still do. We may be broken, but we're still here. I know I'll be reading this again and again
