Throw in a murder, a high school nemesis, an ex-girlfriend, and an old family secret, and the atmosphere is ripe for intrigue and danger. Experience their adventure as Carter and Connie face deadly demons from the past as they return Back to the Hills.
Born in the small town of Clintwood, in southwestern Virginia’s coalfields, Adam Lawler is the son and grandson of coal miners. Determined not to work in the mines, Adam graduated from high school at age sixteen and attended Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, North Carolina, where he earned an Associates degree.
Adam continued his education at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where he earned a B.A. in history with a minor in psychology, and a M.A. in Appalachian Studies. Finding little work for professional hillbillies, Adam went to work in the retail automotive industry, holding several sales and finance management positions over a twenty-year time span. He also taught Western Civilization and Southern Culture at Wilkes Community College.
Adam is a ham radio operator, holding the callsign WK4P. He has been actively involved in the hobby for over twenty five years and supported our sailors and marines by serving in the Navy-Marine Corps Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS) program.
Adam settled in West Jefferson, North Carolina and raised three children; Cyndi, a fourth grade teacher, Wayne, a glass artist, and Rachel, a customer service representative. He is currently empty-nester and still lives in West Jefferson with his Doberman Pinscher, Freyja.
Good story , I enjoyed the return of the characters Carter and Connie and the adventure they once again find themselves in. The relationship between Carter and Connie is one of the more endearing couples in modern stories. Realistically romantic middle aged couple. The story is erotic and fun as well as intriguing. Would like to see more from this series.
