When a mafia king brings home an innocent captive, what could possibly go wrong? Find out exactly how far he's prepared to go to get his happily ever after. Jema wakes up with no memory of where she is and worse, who she is. Everything seems perfect, including the man that claims to be her husband. The doctors tell her she has a little bump on the head and that she'll remember everything soon. The only problem is she knows there are secrets being kept from her, and she's determined to find out what they are.
Salvador Roven could never be mistaken for a good man. Kidnapping is probably low on the list of the bad things he's done, but one look at Jema and he knows he can't let her go. He's playing a dangerous game, but all he has to do is make her fall in love with him before she gets her memories back. He'll have to add a few more dark deeds to his list of sins, but Jema is worth risking it all.

Alexa Riley is two sassy friends who got together and wrote some dirty books. They are both married moms of two who love football, donuts, and obsessed book heroes.
They specialize in insta-love, over-the-top, sweet, and cheesy love stories that don’t take all year to read. If you want something SAFE, short, and always with a happily ever after, then Alexa Riley is for you!

This was a quick and dirty read! It kept my attention, but I wouldn't call it good. This is one of those times where the amnesia trope worked for me. The heroine loses her memory due to the morally gray MMC, which then enables him to do what he wanted to all along. He wanted to tie her to him. The wildest thing that happens? IDK, I think I'm still digesting parts of this book.
Solo apresurado.
No lo recomiendo y no lo volvería a leer 😭❤️🩹

3.5 Stars This was a typical AR story, short and right into it. It was entertaining and kind of more than I expected, but also not really anything special if you've read AR before. It was a comfort read, and did it's job.
Innocent Captive by Alexa Riley is a dark, fast-moving mafia romance that centers on an intense, all-consuming relationship built in an isolated and emotionally charged setting.
The story follows Jema, who wakes up with no memory of her past and is told she is married to Salvador Roven, a powerful mafia figure. As she tries to piece together her identity, she begins to notice inconsistencies in her surroundings and feels an increasing need to understand what is real and what has been carefully constructed around her. Her search for clarity unfolds within a controlled environment where her interactions and discoveries gradually shape her understanding of both herself and the man she is with.
The romance between Jema and Salvador is intensely focused and built on a constant sense of closeness. Their relationship develops in isolation, where every interaction carries emotional weight and contributes to a deepening connection between them. I particularly enjoyed how the story keeps them in continuous proximity, allowing their bond to evolve through shared moments, conversations, and emotional reliance rather than external distractions.
Salvador’s feelings for Jema are portrayed as deeply rooted and unwavering, with his attention consistently centered on her wellbeing and emotional state. His devotion shapes the entire dynamic between them, creating a relationship where protection, desire, and emotional attachment are closely intertwined. I enjoyed how his focus on her creates a strong emotional intensity in their interactions, making even quieter moments feel significant.
Jema’s perspective adds another layer to the romance as she navigates uncertainty while gradually responding to the emotional environment around her. Her connection with Salvador develops through gradual emotional awareness, where trust, curiosity, and growing attachment begin to take shape as she spends more time with him. I especially enjoyed how their bond is built through constant presence and emotional dependency, which reinforces the intensity of their relationship.
The chemistry between them is central to the story, with their relationship driven by strong emotional pull and an ongoing sense of fixation on one another. Their dynamic is shaped by intimacy, proximity, and the gradual unfolding of feelings that become increasingly difficult to separate from their circumstances.
Overall, Innocent Captive is a tightly focused mafia romance that explores intense emotional attachment and a deeply immersive central relationship built through closeness, devotion, and continuous emotional engagement.
AR is my guilty pleasure. Even though there are some elements that I don't like particularly, I still enjoy reading the story. Over the top? Yes. Does it turn off my brain for a bit and entertain me? Also yes.
Jema hits her head, looses her memory and wakes up as the wife of a crime syndicate's boss. Salvador spuns a web of lies to keep her happy and make her fall in love with him. Morally corrupt but absolutely obsessed with her. It was love at first sight for him. And he will do anything to keep her. 🥀
Uy creo que es el primer libro de Alexa Riley que no me gustó para nada y que sentí que no valía la pena. Y una lástima porque AMO el trope de perder la memoria... Una lástima
