Love it! There's not a story from Ms Lutz that I haven't loved...

This review will be a short one!

Okay so this Novella was interesting.
I kept putting this book off but then the amount of 5 star reviews made me reconsider. So i caved in and read it.

Overall, its okay. Nothing amazingly new, to be honest it was pretty generic and i had the 'I've-read-this-before' feeling.
Also, man, this book moved fast!
Honestly, too fast.

The romance went blindingly quick and while the Vamp was attractive and sweet, it just made me sigh in dismay because it felt like insta-lust.
Seriously, if you were attacked by a vampire...brutally mind you when you were a little girl and still had nightmares over it. Would you find it wonderful to have a vampire bite you? Or would you still have some issues to deal with? I'll let you answer that.

That being said, there is a scene of doing the jig or as i call it, the bedroom tango. So it's an adult book all the way.

Lutz writes really well and knows how to engage her audience. However, the storyline itself was lacking, the romance too fast and the heroine ought to be sainted.

So yes, it's a short read and enjoyable to a degree.

I'll leave it at that.

Stay awesome my lovelies!

This story was SO good. It definitely kept me guessing because not everyone is as they seem. Sonnet is a kick ass character which I love. So often the women in stories are "Oh, save me". Bane, I want to take home and have one of my very own. He is everything wrapped up in a sexy vampire package. I really hope that the author re-visits this world because there are so many questions that I have and I can see this being a FANTASTIC series. Every book the author writes, I have really enjoyed. This one may actually be one of my favorites of hers. She never ceases to amaze me with how much her writing has progressed over time and I look forward to where her stories will go. This one is a definite winner and I will be recommending to anyone that loves badass paranormal romance.

Sonnet Vale is a paranormal Hunter, whose life is thrown a curve ball by a sexy vampire that shows her the world has more to it than just vampires hiding in the night. She is a tough strong female lead character. After meeting the sexy vamp Sonnet has to decide if she can find more than happiness with him. She has a missing person case she has to investigate.

Gena Lutz will hook you from the very beginning and will keep you at the edge of your seat reading to see what happens next. It's definitely a must read. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

BRAVO GENA! ABSOLUTELY LOVE SONNET VALE!!
This is a story about Sonnet Vale, a paranormal hunter who tracks all supernatural beings. She is the only tracker at the Fang Squad, Inc. Sonnet tracks and her partner, Emely Jordan, does the killing. Seems Sonnet has a soft side and doesn't like to do the killing. However, she will if she has to. They have been sent to kill a vampire which they do. Her partner takes off on her bike.
She senses a vampire and there standing near her car is a gorgeous Vampire who has blue eyes (he is the Blood Enforcer to Remy, His Dark Majesty, and was also sent to destroy the vampire) and he was watching them. He wants to get to know her better but she declines. She calls him "blue eyes".

She is asked by her boss to track and find the daughter of a client whose wife was killed by a vampire and took the daughter. Sonnet knows she's going to need help with this one and thinks of her blue eyed vampire. Why not give him a try, if he wanted her dead he would've killed her already. He makes it easy for her to track his scent. It leads her to a gorgeous mansion. He finally tells her his name is Bane. She explains why she is there and asks for his help and he agrees. He has to take her to Phantom City to find the vampire but he has conditions. Now the fun, adventure and romance begins and we find out more about Bane, his boss and the Phantom City.

I just loved the storyline-flowed so nicely and loved all the characters but especially Sonnet and Bane. They have such charisma together. You'll love this story as much as I did!!

With your mind, body, and soul at my mercy. 5 stars

WHEW! Is it hot in here or what?!? WOW! Gena is such a fantastic story telling Goddess! No matter what story she has already told or what is still to come, I will listen with rapt & eager attention! ALWAYS! Ok, I will READ it actually, not listen, but you get the idea. This is one helluva story! I love how Gena can have numerous species in one story, but they are never the same! The might have different powers from others of the same 'breed' or a mix of species, abilities or any combination or even none! There is always humor, intrigue, romance and if you are lucky, even some hot sex too! pun fully intended! Of course, this story has all of that and more! Be prepared to be WOWED!! I loved Sonnet from the beginning and have to admit that I hoped she would choose the Vampire...I would every time so why not her too! "Vampires can do anything a normal human can do lying down, only better.” so ummm, yeah..what was I saying again?!? Oh yeah! How could you NOT pick the Vampire! *snicker* Bane of course is the Vampire I am talking about and...well...you have to read the story to find out what happens because even I could never predict all of this!! Of course, that is exactly why I love Gena! None of her books are predictable, cookie cutter or mainstream but every single one of them is a magically spell binding & mind blowing adventure that holds you captive in its spell from beginning to end! My only disappointment is that Gena does not have a thousand books already written for me to read & lose myself in so that I could become something greater in her worlds!! I will happily lose myself in the ones that are out over & over again!!!

What do you do if when you are a child you are attacked by a monster? A vampire?
If you are Sonnet Vale, you become a hunter, something that is an integral part of who and what you are.
Sonnet hunts vampires, she is hired by a man to find his missing daughter. His daughter that was kidnapped by a vampire.
Sonnet meets Bane, a sexy, charismatic vampire who agrees to help her. But at what cost?
In their search to track down the vampire and rescue the girl, Sonnet learns that not everything is as it seems, not even she herself.
When you get to the end you are going to be craving more Sonnet & Bane, along with more stories featuring their friends.
Pick this book up as soon as you get the chance, it's a must for any paranormal romance reader.

This is one of the few books I wish to have read in first person instead of third person. Seriously, Sonnet is a kick a** character that could have pulled the first person telling very well.

I wish to read more of Sonnet and Bane in the near future. *crosses fingers*

This is Sonnet's story. Sonnet is a human that hunts Vampires. While out with her partner staking one of the undead, she meets another Vampire. This one seems different though, he has intrigued her. While she is distracted by him, her partner makes a mistake and ends up shooting the one they were killing. Having to flee quickly, she doesn't notice that this new vampire, Bane, placed something in her trunk. Once she gets back to the Warehouse, the Company's most vicious hit man (Ryker) smells something funny coming from her trunk. This leads to a terrible discovery. Bane hid the corpse of the vampire they were after in there. Ryker shows Sonnet how to dispose of the body using holy water. While he is doing that, Bane shows up again. Again, no one around sees him but Sonnet. He has decided that he wants to get to know Sonnet better. Before Ryker can get back up to the front of the car though, Bane has disappeared.

While working a new case, Sonnet uses her supernatural abilities and seeks out Bane. She needs help to find a vampire that killed a woman and kidnapped her child. The child's father has hired her, but he has nothing but a sketch to go on. Sonnet takes the sketch and hunts down Bane, asking for assistance. He agrees to help, but there is a condition. Once Sonnet agrees to the condition, they are off. Bane takes her somewhere she has never heard of and has her mind blown. She has known about Vampires her whole life, but now she learns that there are other supernatural creatures as well. She comes to find out that some of the people closest to her are not what they seem.

How does Sonnet handle all this new knowledge? Want to know about all the other supernatural creatures? Love vampire stories? Want to know what happens next? Then read this today. You will be glad you did!! This is not the first Gena D. Lutz story I have read and loved, and I know it will not be the last either. This lady is an amazing author and one of my one click addictions!!

"Not all Fangs are Bad"
This book is amazing!. the story line is so entertaining. The Characters are amazing!. Sonnet is a born Vampire hunter only he does like killing them she just tracks them down for assassins to kill them. After Sonnet gets done with a job A sexy Vampire shows up he is different from the ones she hunts.Sonnet has no real love for Vampires as she was attacked by one once. Only this Blue eyed one causes feelings in her she does not understand. Here he shows up proclaiming he is attracted to her and he wants to court her lol. Only he keeps disappearing right afterwards. Sonnet gets a case to find a young woman that has been kidnapped by a Vampire and she needs help so she tracks him Down. She finds his location in a very up scale part of town. Bane can not believe how attracted he is to this hunter!. Sonnet does not know Bane is an enforcer for his people in fact that is how he met her. Bane was sent by his King to hunt down and kill the one Sonnets team killed. Bane agrees to help her on one condition she has to agree to one date with him lol. Sonnet agrees but wonders what she has got her self into lol. To find the Vampire who kidnapped the girl Bane takes Sonnet to a place she never knew excised called Phantom city. There Sonnets finds many of surprises one of which is there are other supernaturals then just Vampires!. When they get to Phantom City Sonnet has terrible pain he her because of her hunter blood. The only way to save her is foe Bane to give her his blood. He has also already made her wear a claiming ring of his. Sonnet is pissed when she finds he gave her blood but has at admit she feels great afterwards. This book is so Awesome it has lots of humor with suspense, action and red hot romance plus you get the super sexy Vampire bite lol. You will love this book!! . Gina D. Lutz is such an amazing writer!

After reading the summary and reviews for "Sonnet Vale" I immediately knew I had to read this book. What I wasn't prepared for was the brevity of the read. It's only 101 pages and reads more like a prequel-novella that a full fledged novel.

Sonnet Vale grew up in an orphanage where she was attacked by a vampire. When she entered foster care her parents treated her as though she was flawed also as a disappointment. Now she has come to grips with her unique ability to sense vampires and uses them to hunt the evil creatures down while her friend kills them.

While completing a job Sonnet meets Bane, vampire sex on a stick..She is shocked when he doesn't try to drink from her or kill her instead he flirts unnervingly with her. So, when a distraught father seeks Sonnet's help in finding his kidnapped daughter, she turns to Bane for assistance. This temporary partnership will thrust Sonnet into the world of paranormals she never knew existed, revelations of secrets and a desire for what she previously believed is taboo..Lions and tigers and bears oh my!

I enjoyed this quick little read but will admit that I wanted more. Everything happens so quickly, that I don't feel as though I had a chance to really get to know the world in which Sonnet lives. It is a cursory glance of what I hope will be fully detailed story lines to come. I felt as though I had been teased. Hopefully, the next book in this series will be coming out soon.

I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion.Thank you!
Wow, that was something else. I have read many stories with vampires before but this one is somehow different.. I like that in this book, the girl is the strong one, the one who fights not the sexy vampire.
The book has a fast paced and I like it. It doesn't bother with long descriptions that I consider unnecessary. It's easy to read I finished it in two hours an I really enjoy it.
The main character is Sonnet, a girl with a special gift, a hunter that was born with an uncommon skill...she sense vampire. She can track them, find them and with the help of her team, kill them.
One night, she meets a very different kind of vampire. Bane. I like his name:) He is sexy, very well-mannered and very interested in her. He wants to claim her as his.He helps her in her mission and with every moment that passes Sonnet discovers things, beautiful things that change her perception about good and evil and in the end she let go of her fears and embrace her dark side.
It's a complete story and I like that too,it was entertaining, it was fun. I honestly enjoyed reading this.Oh, another awesome thing...the sex scene..damn, that was just delicious, surprising and very intense.
So, yeah!Read this! I'm sure you will love it as much as I did,you will find it refreshing and you will want more !

Sonnet is no fading wallflower, she's actually a kickass vampire hunter! She doesn't do any of the killing ,no that is the job of her partner,  Emily. Don't get me wrong I think she would kill if the need arises.
Sonnet was attacked as a child by a vampire and bears the scars to prove it as a constant reminder but she wears her scars with a fearless pride if you like.
It's while hunting that she meets a vampire that may just be her undoing....

Sonnet's  male caller aka her vampire admirer seems to be rather taken with and leaves her a little "gift" to help and protect her.

Our male vampire admirer is known as Bane and he's an old school gentleman and although he may not twinkle in the sun he still has me weak at the knees!
I'd happily volunteer to be his "little fox" and wear his binding ring

Sonnet is on a mission  and Bane is helping her but it would seem that he has the upper hand in both worlds....yes I said both worlds....."Phantom City" is a revelation within itself but so are  some of Sonnet's friends like Emely , Ryker etc.

The secondary characters are all cool even Remy the "scary guy" but it is Anya the mind reading drink pouring and serving demon that no really came to like. A friend I wouldn't mind having in my court.Looking forward to reading more of Bane and  Sonnet and their lives in "Phantom City"

This one was a fast paced dive into a different world. One where some vampires plague humanity and a select group seeks justice for their victims. Sonnet is different. She possesses innate abilities that help her track vampires but she lacks the killer instinct to get the job done. She's content to leave the bloody stuff to her partner Emely. Their latest hunt brings Sonnet face to face to Bane, a man that will ultimately alter how she sees vampires, the rest of the supernatural world and even herself.

As a lover of vamp fiction, I thought I'd seen it all but Lutz managed to give new life into the mythos by giving the creatures their own niche in the world where they can thrive. The descriptions were great and really brought the story to life. I loved the characters. The author did an amazing job creating multifaceted personalities and revealed only the facets that were vital to the story. It created a mystique around them and made me crave more of Sonnet, Bane and their world.

This one deserves 5-star status and I hope that the author continues this amazing story-line.

"Life is about finding where you fit - a place to belong - be it with saints or with demos. It's finding your own kind of monster, where your true self and happiness lies."

Gena Lutz kept me up all night reading about Sonnet, a Hunter that can track Vampires. She's a member of Fang Squad Inc, a group determined to rid the world of creatures that prey on humans. Bane is a vampire, centuries old. He's captivated by Sonnet. When Sonnet has to go to Bane for help, her world flips in one night. She learns more than she thought possible about some of her closest friends, her town and herself.

Sonnet and Bane are strong, independant characters. Gena Lutz creates a world you can see vividly. Sonnet Vale is quick book, opening the door for many more stories about all of the people. I have a soft spot for a demon bartender named Anya! There are several lines I've highlighted, spots my heart melted. Just about the time you think good has won, something else happens. The action continues until the very last page.

I was given a free ARC of this book for an honest review.

3.5 Stars

I liked this story. There was a lot of potential in the plot of this story, it just fell a little short for me. I really liked the idea of the Paranormal Hunter and Sonnet and Bane’s story. All the elements where there I just would like to have had a little more development of the paranormal world the characters were part of and the relationships between them. I don’t want to give away spoilers so I will just say, for example, there were scenes where Sonnet found out that people had been dishonest with her and she got mad for a second and then in the next paragraph all is forgiven. That just didn't fit my image of her as a Kick A## Hunter. As this is a series maybe those issues will be resolved in future installments.

Sonnet Vale, by Gena D. Lutz is a very fast paced paranormal romance about the title character Sonnet Vale who is a 'hunter' of vampires that commit crimes against humans. There are some really interesting aspects to the setting that she creates including a place called Phantom City that I can't describe without adding in some spoilers. The heroine's drive to seek out justice for the victims of violent crimes stems from her own dark past. There is also quite a bit of mystery surrounding her parentage and background. It was a fun read and I'd definitely recommend it to friends. It reminds me of the Anita Blake series with more story line and less sex. The banter between some of the characters is really witty and her writing style makes you want to find out what happens next. Gena D. Lutz is a great storyteller, and I'm interested to read more of her books.

Blurb

Paranormal hunter, Sonnet Vale, has the unique ability to hunt and kill vampires. But a chance encounter with a handsome stranger is about to change everything, teaching Sonnet what it's like to be hunted and possessed.

My thoughts.

So you have a hunter.. Sonnet Vale .. One kick ass hunter.. Add a sexy mysterious Vamp.. Bane.. And you know that's not going to end well.. or err a bit too well.

This book was full of action and fast paced. I loved the building relationship between Hunter and Vampire.
I really enjoy this book, it captured my attention in the first few pages right until the end.. and left me wanting more!

I give this book, 5 Stars! A recommend to all Paranormal lovers :)

Sonnet is a hunter with Fang Squad Inc. Hunters are known for their ruthlessness and despised by the rest of the paranormal community. Intrigued by Sonnet's empathy, Bane, a vampire, is completely fascinated by her. When Sonnet needs his help, Bane claims her as his to introduce her to a paranormal world she never knew existed. Sonnet fighting her attraction to Bane is reeling in confusion at this world where nothing is as it seems, even herself. With an good plot and strong, intriguing characters, Sonnet Vale is a good start to a new series by Gena D. Lutz.

Love finding new authors! I was given a copy before the release of Romancing the Paranormal to give my honest review. This book will be included in the anthology along with many other great stories. As my first time reading a Lutz book I was incredibly impressed and left wanting more. Vampires, demons, werewolves and hunters all make for a delicious story and series introduction. Sonnet is brave, smart, sexy and quick witted. Paired with Bane our sexy vampire this series will be full of adventure and creatures of the night.

Another great story by the very talented Gena Lutz, Sonnet Vale is an action packed read that leaves you begging for more. From the streets of Alabama to the underground world of the paranormal, this fast paced tale is one I would definitely recommend. With a past that could leave you in tears, Sonnet is a woman to be reckoned with…but even she may not know her true strength. Throw in a determined vamp and the possibilities are endless! Two thumbs way up for Gena Lutz’s Sonnet Vale!

REVIEW

Sonnet is a tracker of paranormal beings for Fang Squad Inc. She has never really killed anyone but her time was a coming.
Her partner Emely did all the killings and she loves it. Sonnet loves her friend but she often speaks harshly when it comes to Sonnet's family. The family that treated her as if she was some crazed loon. They have no clue what Sonnet is or why she does what she does why is that.

Heading home she is caught off guard by whom? None other than the Vampire she ran into after her partner ripped the last vampire to shreds his friend. She learns this vampire is not like the rest or is he? His name is Bane.

Bane feels something for Sonnet and lets her know he sees her strength within and what it means to other paranormal beings as well. Bane has agreed to help Sonnet find a missing girl but can he help Sonnet in other ways?

And just what is Emely ?? Is she truly a hunter?

We have vamps and other super natural beings I love when paranormal books gives us a few instead of just 1.
Gena D. Lutz gives us one heck of a great story here. I loved it. The chemistry between Sonnet and Bane is super freaking HOT and funny in many ways. And so many twists and turns leaves you wanting so much more.

I read this book in a bundle called Romancing the Paranormal and this is my review.
