The Sun Paw remnant are joining the Blood Rain pack in New York. With Mara choosing to stay behind with her mate Aldric and her son Caleb (who are not trusted to come along after they had tried to kill Elena), and with Mara's desire to continue to manage the lodge, Elena wants to ward it for Mara's protection. But Elena wants to do this personally and Luke worries at the time and energy it will take away from her to accomplish that. So she asks the witch Carmen, their Beta's mate, to assist her with this task. They draw energy from the pond so they don't burn out their own magic with overuse. But even with that, Elena feels exhausted. She then borrows energy from Portia who offers to send volunteers to her to loan additional energy as needed. But as they finish, they see a strange glimmer in the air, around the edges of the trees. When it disappears, they shrug and walk away.
The movement was hectic in New York as they unloaded and carried everything into the building. Both packs worked together well and the unpacking began. But Rucker approaches to tell Luke there is trouble. He reports that the last van containing Sun Paw wolves and a few Blood Rain escorts was ambushed 20 minutes away from arrival. Both Elena and Carmen look at each other and realize something feels "off" about this -- it is not random. They have been targeted! They see the damage as they approach, blood on the pavement, skid marks, the van door almost torn off. One of the wolves told them that they seemed to be rogues but did not fight that way. They were too coordinated. Both Carmen and Elena tended to the wounded and felt the same sensation they had back at the lodge. Something waiting, watching -- much like a warning. This may just be the beginning of something worse! And when a stranger appears offering help with their defenses, is Naomi trustworthy? Something far worse is being planned and will be much harder to fight if they don't understand it. But it becomes obvious that this isn't a trap they simply fell into -- it was built specifically for their destruction. Can Elena figure it out before it's too late?
The story sees the two packs merging, but before anyone has time to settle, the witches cause trouble. Leading to danger in the form of attacks, battles, curses and a mysterious witch they do t know if they can or should trust.
Throughout the story, we see Luke and Elena doubting their decisions and trying to plough through the toughest challenge they’ve faced, all while trying to protect each other and their pack.
There’s a few revelations during the final battle with the witches, one of them a happy one.
There’s not a lot of humour throughout, as this me was quite tense with all of the exhaustion and anticipation of being attacked. Which is evident in the one word answers during conversations or repeating each other. But the beginning of the epilogue showed that side coming back through.
Tension between characters at times, thought Rucker and Luke were going to battle when it was suggested Carmen should be quarantined. Then James insisting he be put back to work and not backing down. It almost felt like an extra challenge for Luke through the story.

As the Sun Paw pack members pack up to make the move to New York to become part of The Blood Rain pack, Elena still feels drawn to the home of her birth pack. She feels the need to still protect the land. So before leaving, she works with Carmen to protect that land. Only something feels off. Just when they thought both packs merging was going to be okay and everyone is settling in bad news comes. Being tested, getting hit at every turn and running on fumes, they know something needs to be done.
I absolutely love that through all the chaos, Elana and Luke still find time for each other. 🌶🥵🥰 This book definitely keeps you on your toes. It will have you wondering and guessing, as to what's going on, or if and when they made the wrong decision.
Great storyline, character development is spot on and the plot gets thicker and thicker. You definitely want to read this series in order! 🥰.

This was the perfect conclusion to Luke and Elena’s love story! A powerful, courageous, and resilient luna, Elena has a heart of gold for her pack and her alpha mate, Luke, who is powerful, courageous, and obsessed with his mate. When the pack finds itself under attack from the witch coven, Elena and Luke must protect their newly merged pack at all costs. Fighting side-by-side, the pair grow as a couple while saving those they care about. I adore Luke and Elena as a couple and can feel the chemistry and mate bond that they share. There was the perfect balance of spice and plot with this one, and I was hooked all throughout. While it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the previous books about Luke and Elena to appreciate the full circle aspects of the plot in this one.
This final chapter of Luke and Elena’s story keeps the reader guessing to the very end.
In typical fashion there is plenty of intrigue as Luke, Elena and their pack scramble to survive the witches attacks.
Elena embraces both her legacy and her role as Luna to support the pack. Luke, as alpha, struggles with choices that impact the pack’s destiny. There is plenty of steam in their stolen moments together.
This paranormal suspense wraps the suspense elements of Luke and Elena’s story yet the epilogue leaves an opening for a continuing storyline.

'The witches keep coming. Stronger. Smarter. Closer to breaking us every time. This war isn’t just about our pack. It’s about what they did to me… and the power I’m finally ready to use against them.'
The characters were very complex and compelling and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

I was engaged with the story, barely a moment of peace when this clan was fighting again. Enemies that had more than once the upper hand, plans might fail, but the clan kept fighting, not surrendering, with goodness in their hearts. I like that in the end, after all they've been through, the protagonists have a pleasant surprise.

Finally Elena’s old pack Sun Paw joins Blood Rain and the merger is going peacefully. Something is wrong and it’s the witches again. The suspense of what they attempt next will keep you on the edge. Subtly attacking the pack mentality and magically. Intriguing with twist and turns of witches trying to eradicate this pack.

Luke and Elena's story continues in this book. It is an easy to read book. The characters are further explored and also show their vulnerable sides. Elena is still struggling with the loss of her pack and parents and Luke is also struggling as alpha of a merged pack. And the witches show their worst side. And the wolves must fight for their right to exist. All this wrapped in an emotional, romantic and passionate story.
the Blood Rain pack’s integration of the Sun Paw pack works smoothly, even if it’s controlled. Ms. Samuels has written another wonderful book! from the very beginning, I was drawn into the story as if I was in there with them. it’s exciting, it’s interesting, it can be read as a stand-alone book (better in a series!), & it’s a story worth reading! try it; you won’t be surprised disappointed!.

Another great story by Sloan Samuels, I was hooked from the start and didn't want to put it down. This story is full of danger and action and romance. I happily recommend reading any of Sloan's books and this one is no exception. A brilliant paranormal romance.

Things are never easy for poor Elena so of course when the last of her birth pack are coming to NYC they are ambushed. And this leads to drama and intrigue and lots of trouble as everyone tries to figure out what is really going on. Enjoyed the story and trying to guess everything and what might happen next. What is going on with the witches and will they avoid war kept things interesting.
The conclusion to Luke and Elena’s story is well written. It holds some predictable elements with enough surprises to keep the reader engaged in the story. The story will have the reader feeling the pain of blood rain pack and the joy when the war is over.
This is the ending of Luke and Elena’s story. They are finally going to join the last survivors of Elena’s birth pack into their pack. To find out what happens you need to read this book.
