i may or may not have finished this book in one sitting🫣
this was REALLY good, they were so cute together.
Alex broke my heart and i might’ve shed a few tears😭

I usually don’t like books without any spice, but this book didn’t need it. I finished it in one sitting but I didn’t expect to end with a cliffhanger 😅

Alex my poor broken boy 💔 these two are ridiculously sweet even if they aren’t even together yet but I can’t wait for a second book. I think I know what happens in the last phone call but I’m really curious how the whole story is gonna unfold…

Isabella this story is beautiful, I did not expect to love it so much. I need book 2, like I need air at this point ❤️‍🩹. Thank you for writing such a complex story. This book has a little bit of everything I love. Angst, yearning, hurt/comfort, slow burn, found family, and love. I usually like more spice in my books, but the overall emotion throughout the book, and reading what the characters are going through made up for it. Alex, the sweet, shy, broken, loner boy. I just wanted to jump in the book and protect him, I hated reading what he was going through at home. It broke my heart. Kai, the charming, popular, golden boy. When meeting Alex, Kai was compelled to be near him. He didn’t understand these feelings, but also didn’t shy away from them. Kai was so sweet with Alex, and I loved how he didn’t give up even though Alex tried to push him away.
This was such an emotional read, and I cannot wait for book 2. I hope a certain someone gets what he deserves. I cannot wait to see what’s next for Alex, and Kai!

How in the heck is this a debut novel!? I devoured it in a day.

I’m usually a bit of a smut reader, but this book just sucked me in!

My heart genuinely breaks for both of these boys, particularly Alex. Poor thing doesn’t know a peaceful life. When Ryan detailed what he saw when Alex was tiny, I nearly cried.

Kai is such a beautiful person, I loved hearing how protective he felt over Alex right from the beginning. He’s struggling to be respectful, while still taking care of the boy he so clearly loves.

I need more asap! The ending… it makes sense, Kai needs to do something and god I hope things get better for poor Alex soon. I want to see these boys love freely! I can’t wait to see Kai come into his own and start being honest with himself and those closest to him.

Thank you for such an amazing read, I genuinely cannot wait for the next book!

I, I don't know where to start or how to get over this giant lump in my throat. How did this author make me feel like I was in so deep with Alex and Kai that I wanted to be a part of every time something happened to either one of them! I will miss them until the next book comes out which I hope is quickly!
I loved their friends, I loved Rachel Alex's friend. I really loved Callum Kai's friend. I can't wait to see them in the next book too.
It was a beautiful thing as Kai got to gradually see Alex " It was like he read exactly what I was feeling. Like he could see the panic I was trying to hide." It was also terrifying for Alex.
I want everyone to read this book but also protect their mental health. It's rare that something affects me like this in a book. I can name maybe four or five. This one really did.
I just can't say much because of spoilers. I'll just be here waiting.

this was such a thunderstorm!! I couldnt put it down!

first of all the way the slow burn was written was just chefs kiss
there was never the feeling of impatiemce while reading but just smiling like this :> bc i knew more than them

some scenes played out again in the others pov i enjoyed that so so much! it never felt like "ugh again i know this" but it always made me giddy like "ooh im excited to see how the other one saw/felt that!" - great work!

and!! last but not least: the way the reader gets ripped from this sweet delicate lovestory by the dark sides of this book was so so well done 💚💙💚

Oh my gosh! This book was absolutely amazing. I NEED book 2 now. Like how am I suppose to survive without knowing what happens next after that ending. This book had me absolutely obsessed. I could not put it down. This book completely broke my heart. I was hurting when Alex was hurting. The way Kai was with him was incredible. I honestly don’t know what to do with myself now that I have finished the book

I really enjoyed this book! The storyline totally hit home, so many memories brought back! I actually cried reading some of it!

My heart actually breaks for Alex and even Kai, seeing someone you care about go through all of that and be so scared and worried for him is so sad. I was not ready for it to end like that! I have a feeling I know how it’s going to go after the phonecall, but please please can we have a happy ending for those boys 😭 can’t wait for book 2!

Wow. I desperately need the sequel to this book. The pacing, wonderful. I was captivated the entire time. The length of the book is wonderful and reading it will constantly make you crave another page. Every night this week I was fighting sleep to try and read another sentence. Super cute, please read this book if you’re debating doing so.

Alex is bruised and broken, he is invisible and that’s good because nobody will ask questions about a ghost.

That is until Kai, Captain of the football notices him and carefully crafted walls starts to crumble.

Slow burn, heartbreaking and emotional, I ❤️ Kai and Alex but I have a sinking feeling it’s going to get rougher before it gets better.

P.S. Everybody should have a Kai 🥰
