Look at the time. What time is it? Certainly, not enough of course. You hasten the pace trying to get done whatever it is you're trying to do, but before you know it...time's up! You have to turn in what you're doing by the deadline or stop to go do something else requiring your immediate attention as other duties call.

How often do you find yourself in such predicament, where you feel pressured from pressed for time, not able to get much done and get things done on time? Plus, solely increasing the pace is not any better if compromising quality for poor work or careless errors to be made.

The key is, you have to know how to manage time. YOUR TIME that is. Time management is a lot simpler than it seems, but many people are oblivious to it. All it takes are some simple time management strategies and techniques and YOURSELF.

If you ask successful people, what is the one they like to have more of in their everyday life (it's not money) - it's time; the time to do all the things they need, like work...then the time to do all the things they love, like spending time with family and loved ones, or having fun and enjoying life.

This book offered a wealth of techniques, any of which the reader could implement, or any multiples of them - or even all for the incredibly ambitious. I came to this book thinking that I could use everything within its pages and was delighted to find that I employ several of these methods in order to stay organized and not lose my mind.

Once you've forgotten enough things, you begin to desperately reach out for things and tools to assist you in your goals, it IS what a mature, evolved adult should do, after all. Success in our endeavors is by learning every step of the way and implementing anything that furthers our goal. This time management book will have you organized in no time, the hardest task of course will be keeping it up.

For myself, the most helpful tip was to assess time periods for the tasks that I schedule, so that once that time is up, I move on to the next thing - ensuring that everything on my task list is at least started and going and I have time to work on it more on the next day, and so on with all of my tasks. Color coding is something else that can be very handy, I have used this before when I carried an organizer and my favorite color was representative of things recreationally that I wanted to do, and my least favorite color - was representative of the things I had to do but didn't want to, as a rule I always picked my least favorite first. (Save the best for last?)

The ultimate agenda of this book, in my opinion is to provide you with tools, techniques and advice to get your life into an organizational system that you can manage without feeling overwhelmed, and if you follow even HALF of the tips - this is going to happen. I mean follow, not halfway abide and then crash out of it.

One of the best tips in the book, for myself especially, was to get rid of distractions. For myself, this means writing in a program and not online - if my email is too easy to get to, I'll go there and procrastinate my writing. All in all, I would recommend this book to people starting out with college, or their professional life, these lessons in time management are valuable. Must read!

Instant Time Management is a short and succinct book, but with a tremendous amount of details. It is perfect for someone who is short on time and trying to get organized to better manage it because you can get all the information you need in a brief number of pages. I particularly like that the book not only gives you the tools for time management, but then takes it a step further to apply the tools in an exercise, so you actually get the idea of how to use the information given to you.

Each chapter has an exercise at the end of it so that you can apply what you have learned. My favorite part is the Daily Nightly Habits for Effective Time Management chapter. It encourages you to set your goals for the next day, that way you can get up in the morning and can be ready to go. It is true that each time effective day on a continuum is equal to an effective year. This was a valuable read for me and I’m looking forward to more books on this series.
