A twenty-first-century romance novelist. An eighteenth-century pirate captain. A magic object that shatters time, and a history that refuses to be changed.
Eliza Moore has written more than twenty bestselling historical romances, but she’s never actually been in love. She understands passion on a page, but in the real world, her heart has always remained safely guarded. That is, until a mysterious artifact sends her hurtling back to 1715.
When she wakes up aboard a legendary pirate ship, she finds herself staring into the narrowed hazel-green eyes of Captain Ronan O’Rourke. Ronan is a commanding Irish pirate who is suspicious of the strangely dressed woman discovered aboard his ship. Suspecting she might be a spy sent by one of his enemies, he locks her in his cabin for her protection, as well as his own peace of mind.
Forced into sharing close quarters, Eliza soon realizes that Ronan is the romantic hero she’s always wanted to write about in one of her books. But as their reluctant alliance deepens into an undeniable attraction, Eliza remembers a devastating detail from her historical
To save the pirate who has stolen her heart, Eliza faces an agonizing choice. Does she return to the safety of the twenty-first century, or remain to face the storm and an uncertain future beside Ronan?
If you love tender forced-proximity romances, spirited heroines, and brooding pirate captains who will challenge fate itself for the woman they love, you’ll enjoy this stand-alone time travel romance.
Caroline Mickelson loves her family and loves to write. She also loves a good adventure, among her favorites thus far were attending graduate school in a Scottish castle, riding a camel around the Pyramids in Giza, and taking a best-in-a-lifetime road trip to Graceland. Caroline lives in the American southwest with her husband and their four children, affectionately known as The Miracles.
I’m a total sucker for time-travel romances, and this one was fantastic! Eliza, a romance writer with a vivid imagination, creates all her steamy, emotional scenes without ever having been in love or in a relationship. When she touches an antique compass and suddenly finds herself 300 years in the past aboard a pirate ship, she’s convinced it’s just a dream she can use in her next book. Ronan, the ship’s captain, grows increasingly frustrated as she refuses to believe his claims about their reality.
The setting couldn’t be more perfect - what’s more thrilling and romantic than a pirate ship in the Caribbean? Things get especially captivating when Eliza finally realizes Ronan’s been telling the truth all along. The chemistry between them is exactly what you’d hope for, with tension, danger, and sweet moments that keep you hooked. Highly recommended!
The writer keeps you pulled into the story the entire way through, always wondering what will happen next. Her descriptive writing is one of the reasons I enjoy reading her books. It keeps you feeling like you are there on the ship with Eriza and Ronan.
The Pirate’s Lady Love will lure you in from the first chapter and keep you reading until you turn the final page. A time-travel heroine who’s never tasted love, an Irish pirate who thinks she’s a spy, and a Caribbean ocean to take them away are all perfect elements of this delightful romance. The chemistry between Eliza and Ronan is just what you want, and the tension and danger and tender moments will keep you enthralled. I highly recommend it.
Eliza, a romance writer, finds herself on a pirate ship after touching a compass in a shop with antiquities. While too short a book to deeply develop characters, the author does well with the writer and the pirate. An exciting tale and a romantically satisfying ending.
Wonderful story and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Only complaint that the captain easily believed that she was from the future. Not a lot asked of what it was like or if she missed it. Otherwise very good.
