Borrowing Time

Silas has collected souls for centuries, but never one who fled the premises before he arrived. Tracking Clara down is one thing. Convincing a stubborn, dying woman to return to the present and politely expire is another. Since Clara refuses to cooperate, Silas is forced into his least favorite assignment yet. Cosmic chaperone. His job is simple. Keep her from changing the past, stop her from dodging death again, and avoid falling for the woman who treats rules like optional guidelines.
The more time they spend together, the harder it is to pretend Clara is just another assignment. And the trouble with borrowing time is that eventually, someone comes to collect. When Clara’s final moment arrives, she and Silas will have to decide what’s more dangerous: changing fate, or accepting a love that was never supposed to happen.
This is a standalone romantic comedy with feel-good nostalgia, a goat named Karate, and a side of emotional damage.

From the very first chapter, I didn’t want to put this book down. Clara and Silas are incredibly relatable characters, and I found myself laughing and crying throughout their story. The book brought up a lot of emotions from my own life that I didn’t realize I still needed to process, which made the experience feel especially meaningful.
This is such a beautifully written book, and I truly enjoyed every page. It’s one of those stories that stays with you even after you’ve finished the last page. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a book that will make you laugh, cry, and feel deeply connected to the characters.
