In 2025, she published We Can’t Be by Ourselves, a chapbook of poems and short stories, and is now debuting as a Romantic Fantasy Author with Spellbinding Amali, a Fantasy novel releasing on November 13, 2026.
She began studying storytelling at a performing arts high school. While there, she learned to master the art of plays, musical theatre, improvisational theatre, and physical theatre.
She then went on to obtain her Bachelor’s in Film and Media. During her time at university, she learned to write in various formats, including screenplays, journalism, narrative fiction, rhythmic and verse, and business and professional. While others focused on one lane, Imani learned many because she was unsure which field she wanted to enter. She learned as much as possible, knowing she’d be telling stories in some form.
Over the past nine years, her writing has brought stories to life across diverse formats, including marketing copy, insurance and wellness websites, and fiction. Whether publishing under the names Imanileo, Imani Leonique, or working as a ghostwriter, storytelling remains at the core of her creative work.
