After reading the first book in this series and absolutely devouring it, I was so excited to be back in this world again.

What I loved most about the first book was how unique the trials were, and all the details that came along with the sub-plots. It felt like a movie playing in my head, and I had such a good time with it. I think since the trials were over, and a whole new route had to be taken with this one, my attention span didn’t quite hit the same. However, that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it…just not quite as much as the first.

The little love triangle I wasn’t expecting really gave me something to look forward to. Don’t judge me too hard, but I’m not a Varkein fan. I didn’t find their connection to be that deep and believable in the first book, so I didn’t have ties to him. Malroven though? I find his character to have much more depth, and it had me rooting for him…then once it finally happened, I was a little disappointed because it felt so rushed and under the wrong circumstances 😭 I ended up feeling so bad for him instead of feeling for Deneb in the whole situation with Varkein.

Overall, still had a good time seeing where the series is going. The next book is setup to be on my radar, once again. Thank you to the author for sending me an advanced copy ❤️

Yes. Yes. And YES. I waited, and the book delivered. The unhinged men continued to bring it in the sequel to The Ballad of Phoenix and Monsters. I can honestly tell you, I had no idea where this story was going to go, but I threw my hands up and decided to trust M.N. Robbins, and I was surprised and intrigued. The world continues to expand, and I loved some of the new characters I got to meet.

Now let’s talk about the most important part of the sequel. THE FAE COMMANDER!!! He was everything I wanted/needed/had dreamed about and more. I just need Deneb to get out of her own way and embrace her mate, because I need more of the tension, yearning, and spice.

I also really enjoyed the mystery element in this book and how, as readers, we got to work through the curse of the heirs. All in all, I laughed, I cringed, I blushed, and I speed-read this like the absolutely amazing fever dream that it was.

"If you keep me here," I say through gritted teeth. each wore sharp, deliberate, "I will kill you."" A low, quiet sound leaves him. "I would be disappointed if you didn't try."

I think this is a great continuation in the series. I think one mmc represents the first love in your life the one you want.

And the other mmc represents the one who pushes you, completes you and is the one you need, the one you end up with.

We get a deeper dive into the fae world and our fmcs family and where she is from. And of course its filled with twist and turns. I loved how not one part of this book felt slow.

🐦‍🔥 After becoming completely obsessed with The Ballad of Phoenix and the Monsters, I have been WAITING for The Ballad of Phoenix and the Cursed Heirs and all the answers that hopefully came with it.

And did I get answers? Yes.
Do I now somehow have even MORE questions? Also yes. 😂

🐦‍🔥 Deneb gets pulled deep into the fae world this time around, and the twists just keep coming. We learn more about her backstory, her family legacy, her awesome twin brother, and the truth behind who and what she is… including some very interesting physical changes along the way 👀

🐦‍🔥 Deneb remains wonderfully stubborn throughout this book (sometimes to her own detriment and everyone else’s), but I appreciated seeing her slowly shift her approach once the stakes became deadly.

🖤And her MATE. We heard about him in book one, but we actually get to him here, and somehow he became my favorite. I truly cannot explain it. He’s ruthless, protective, determined, and absolutely willing to burn the world down if necessary. The tension and frustration between him and Deneb had me internally screaming. 😅

🖤 And Varkein… why was he annoying me when he is objectively perfect?! But at the same time, I desperately need to see what could happen with Malroven.

🐦‍🔥 This book made me want to pull my hair out at times, but that emotional turmoil is exactly what made it such a good read.

🙏 Huge thank you to M.N. Robbins for the bookmail! I cannot wait to see where Deneb’s journey goes next.

Wowwwww! Just, wow!
This series just keeps getting better! I read The Ballad of Phoenix and Monsters last year and immediately loved it! I was so excited to get my hands on book 2, The Ballad of Phoenix and the Cursed Heirs, and it did not disappoint! Everything about this book is elevated! The writing, the storyline, just everything! I loved getting to learn more about Daneb and her lineage and getting to dive deeper into the Fae world. As much as I liked Varkein, I think I’m switching to team Malroven. 🫠🥰

Wow! Just wow! The expansion on the world building in this book was beautifully done! Deneb is still as fierce and stubborn as ever! For the first 3/4 of the book I'm not going to lie Malroven annoyed me so much! (Feel like that will be an unpopular opinion). Can't say why without giving spoilers. But this book is incredible!!! The character development is outstanding. And we're left on another cliff hanger! So excited for book 3!

Good story, awful ending. The ending only makes sense if there’s a 3rd book to tie up all the lose ends that were left
