I didn’t die that day. My best friend says a beast saved me. A monster. A legend. A creature from stories told around campfires.
But he’s wrong. Monsters don’t exist. That’s what I keep telling myself.
And yet my dreams are filled with him—tall and strong, claws sharp like knives, vibrant green eyes that glow like beacons. He shouldn’t be real. He can’t be.
Since the accident, I’ve been scrambling to hold my life together, fighting to keep what's mine from being taken from me. Running my bakery, and caring for my farm, while drowning in grief and jumping at shadows. I’ve never felt so afraid or so alone.
Then a stranger arrives in Newbridge, carrying a sense of familiarity I can’t explain and warmth I want to lose myself in.
Sterling
I saved him that day. Dragged him from the waves and laid him on the beach in the shadow of his lighthouse.
Now I watch him. Protect him. Care for him. And show him the only version of me he believes is real. The man and not the monster. There is nothing I won't do for him.
Because he is mine.
Solais is a full-length MM monster romance as part of the Mayhem Manuscripts Cryptids shared world collaboration. Each book is a standalone containing themes and situations not intended for readers under the age of 18.

I enjoyed Caspian and Sterling. The dynamic between them was sweet with mild obsession. Caspian was dealing with grief and trying to keep his head above water and Sterling was there in the shadows doing his best to be the support Caspian needed. Now, some of this support and protection came with the use of claws against wrong doer’s which I was not mad about at all!! Once Sterling and Caspian found their ways to each other their relationship development was adorable. There were afternoon walks, scones and cute animals with food names.
Best friend Kiernan was great! He never wavered in their friendship and never questioned Caspian’s beliefs. This may have something to do with Kee’s love for the supernatural but still! He was there every time he was needed with cheeky comments and support!

This was an interesting read. It was unique yet simple at the same time. Sterling was also adorable in an Alpha possessive roar kind of way. I also liked how Cas was portrayed and the accuracy. The conflict wasn't anything extreme and I liked it. It was there but not the root and it was simple. Kind of curious about Kieran and...yea.

Very cute! Made me want to make a whole batch of lavender scones. Mmmmm. Chive and feta scones... idk. Maybe it's been too long since I've had scones.
