Northbridge Nuptials #6

It Takes a Family

Rate this book
Small-town cop Luke Walker smelled trouble the moment Karis Pratt arrived on his doorstep, claiming the baby she held in her arms was his. Luke had been devastated once before when Karis's sister left town with the daughter she confessed wasn't his. And though his mind and his heart had every reason to be skeptical, Luke soon realized that Karis was nothing like her impetuous sister.

From birth, the little girl who could be his daughter had gripped his heart in her tiny fist and wouldn't let go. Was it possible that these two females could ultimately be his...to have and to hold?

Victoria Pade is the bestselling author of numerous contemporary romances, six historical romances and two mystery novels. She began her writing career after leaving college to have her first daughter. That daughter was seven years old and there was a second daughter, before Victoria had her first book accepted for publication. That novel and the three that followed it were historical romances. But the exit of her husband and the urge to do more contemporary writing that explored the kinds of problems she was facing inspired a switch.

Requires the suspension of disbelief which was okay but it turned out to be a whirlwind romance which I really, really do not like. Still, I liked the main characters and the general story line so I give this 2 stars.

Heartwarming. I liked that the hero and heroine communicated with each other pretty well. I was a bit annoyed that a plot thread was left dangling. As this is part of a series, I assume it'll be tied up in a later book.

The author used the phrase "iron in the fire" so many times I wanted to scream.

I like this series the book was awesome. I wanted to know hero reaction to paternity test. But it was skimmed over at end like an afterthought. But the premise of book was paternity of child so to skim over it made me feel cheated Could of and should of been a 5.
