Well it's definitely an interesting reversal on the alien abduction romance, with the male main character being the one who has been abducted. He returns to earth as part of the alien culture's subjugation force (not remembering who was born as) and ironically ends up in his own hometown. I won't give away any further of the story, since it's unique, but I don't think I'll be reading any more of this series. It doesn't exactly end in a cliffhanger but it's in the neighborhood. The dialog in places in almost clinical or high-technical jargon, and if you weren't prepared for that or enjoy more of a true sci-fi (rather than sci-fi romance), this may not be for you.

absolutely loved it!!

A human host was needed for an alien weapon and then used by invaders to conquer Earth and he was unstoppable. Until he was deployed in his home city, to make use of his familiarity of the area. They didn’t count on the occupant of one house, watching, analyzing, recognizing the way he moved, the way he kept looking at her house. Then one day she said his name, and the aliens began to loose their most valuable to the woman who had been grieving her husband for 5 years.

Resistance Not Tolerated

This was a helluva book. So much went on that I had to wasp my head around because it was nothing like I thought it would be from the blurb. Emily is a war widow who lost the love of her life five years ago. She’s basically just existing until the day the aliens came. There’s one in particular, bigger and more lethal than the others. She watches and takes extensive notes about the invaders until she realizes that the big one is also watching her house. But why? You will have to read this engrossing book to find out. Just remember, sometimes they come back…

I won’t give this one a rating because there aren’t many scores and my very subjective issue isn’t the sort that should negatively affect the numbers.

I like the writing and the plot setup is unique and interesting. I’d recommend it for most readers.

My person died years ago and this sort of thing just makes me feel empty though. Not triggered or upset. But nothing even a little good either. I’m not sure how others deal with grief, so I can’t say whether or not it will have that effect on anyone else.

Soulless

I can understand the hero having muted emotions, but I expected much more from the human heroine who discovered her husband is still alive.

Stilted sentences, emotionless dialogue, muted everything. And this book already has translations in three other languages?? Sounds like AI to me.

Unique take on scifi romance

The writing flowed well and the characters were wonderfully developed. Not sure I loved where it ended, but the story will hopefully pick up where it left off in the next book.

Unbelievably good

I’ve never read anything like this before. Science fiction at its best and most interesting. Kudos to the author. I just wish that it was more … more chapters, more stories, more books. This was a quick read begging to be longer.

Captivating

I got this on a whim, and I am so glad I did! I was drawn in from the first pages, and it kept me hooked the whole time. I cannot wait for more books from this author.

Wow, I was so drawn into this. I don't know what I expected from the tagline, but this definitely wasn't it. This was better! For a book set during an alien invasion, very little "happens", and that was refreshing. This isn't about external plot points. It's actually a very personal, internal story. This author has talent.
