good but repetitive
This author has quite a bit of talent and upside, I believe. The writing gets better, but he still has a tendency to repeat the same basic information too many times. Once is enough, even in dialog. I like the story, though it gets in the weeds at times, and I have to skim the repetitive sections. With reading, and continuing to support the author as he grows.
