The Summer Plans

Sometimes love deserves a second chance.

Summer
All I wanted was a quiet summer. When my best friend offers me a free stay at her beach house in exchange for helping her sell it, it feels like the reset my three kids and I desperately need.

What I don’t need? Her brother showing up.

RJ was my first kiss. My almost-forever. The one man I never quite recovered from. Now he’s back, looking just as devastating as he did the day he broke my heart. I came here for peace—not for unfinished business.

RJ
As the oldest rookie at the Chestnut Mountain Fire Department and a single dad, I’m focused on proving myself and building something steady for my daughter.

Then I walk into that beach house and find Summer. Fate might have separated us once, but it just handed me another chance. And this time, I’m not letting her slip away.

She may think this is just a temporary escape—but I have every intention of rewriting The Summer Plans.

A summer holiday rom com about a single mom with 3 kids, a single dad firefighter, an unforgettable vacation, and a second chance to get it right.
-Single Mom (divorced)
-Single Dad (divorced)
-Firefighter
-Best friend’s brother
-Second chance
-One bed
-Forced proximity
-Type 1 diabetes rep

The Summer Plan by Mya More was everything I want in a second chance romance. Emotional, heartfelt, nostalgic, and incredibly spicy, this story pulled me in from the very first chapter.
Summer and RJ had such believable chemistry and history together. You could feel the years of unresolved feelings between them in every interaction. Their relationship felt layered and mature in a way that made the romance even more impactful. I loved that both characters came into the story carrying real life experiences, heartbreak, and responsibilities as divorced single parents trying to rebuild their lives.
The forced proximity and one bed tropes delivered exactly the tension I was hoping for, and the emotional payoff was worth every moment of angst and longing. RJ was such a strong romantic lead. Protective, patient, supportive, and completely gone for Summer in the best way. Watching him fight for a second chance with her was one of my favorite parts of the book.
I also appreciated the representation throughout the story and the way Mya More balanced emotional depth with humor, family moments, and genuinely hot chemistry. The intimate scenes felt passionate and emotionally connected instead of existing solely for shock value.
Mya More has such a talent for writing romances that feel immersive and emotionally authentic while still delivering all the tension and spice readers want. Her characters feel real, flawed, and easy to root for. The Summer Plan was a beautiful reminder that love can still find you again, even after heartbreak.
Highly recommend for readers who love second chance romance, best friend’s brother, single parent dynamics, forced proximity, and emotionally driven love stories with strong chemistry.

Emotional depth, family focus, and second-chance romance. The Summer Plans by Mya More is a heartfelt second-chance romance that blends emotional depth with cozy summer vibes, family dynamics, and a love story that never fully faded.

Summer arrives at a beach house hoping for a quiet reset with her three kids, but peace quickly disappears when RJ—her first love and the man tied to her past heartbreak—walks back into her life.

What makes this story stand out is the emotional history between them. This isn’t just a reunion—it’s two people carrying old wounds, unresolved feelings, and the weight of everything that once went wrong.

This book includes:

* second-chance romance
* single mom / single dad dynamic
* best friend’s brother trope
* forced proximity
* one-bed tension
* slow emotional healing
* found family and parenting themes

Summer’s strength as a mother and woman trying to rebuild her life adds emotional grounding, while RJ’s return brings both comfort and chaos as he tries to prove he’s not the same man who broke her heart.

It’s a warm, emotional story about timing, forgiveness, and the courage to try again when love returns unexpectedly.

The Summer Plans by Mya More. I got to beta read this one a while ago so I have been waiting for everyone else to get the chance to read this one as well.

I read this one so fast both times because I fell in love with Summer and RJ from the first page. Their second chance romance was beautiful in every way. RJ was so patient with Summer, while Summer gives everything she has to her children.

Mya writes children in the best way. They are always the stars of the books and I enjoy giggling at the pages when a new book comes out.

Mya, thank you for letting me beta and arc read this one early. You are an amazing woman and friend.

Oh my gosh, Mya! Every single book of hers I can’t ever get enough of! I love how we’ve been getting a new couple in each seasonal release. I loved the tropes in this story, especially the “second-chance” and “one bed”.
Don’t get me started on the spicy micro-tropes! Mya- you are a QUEEN at the spice! The chemistry between the MMC and MFC was OUTRAGEOUS! I could feel the spice from my kindle!
And I LOVEDDDDD the group chats with the girls! I love when authors include these in their stories; I always get such a laugh!
This was such a fun read that I binged in one sitting!
I can’t wait for what Mya has next!

Review of an advance copy received from author

This second chance romance is just so sweet and sincere from RJ’s determination to be the dependable man for Summer and her kids. I give him my thumbs up because not only is he fun during vacation time, he also appears so firm in a very healthy way to the point where kids grow respect for him instead of fear.

So, this story follows Summer and RJ, two people who were once high school sweethearts after one silly dare-to-kiss, after braces got stuck together, after followed by one unforgettable week of sneaking off together. But then young love did not survive. RJ broke Summer’s heart and disappeared from the kind of love she thought would last forever.

Years later, Summer is now a single mom of three rebuilding her life and career, while RJ becomes a firefighter and a single dad who never gets over his first love.

Then comes the accidental double booking at Raven’s beach house that honestly doesn’t feel accidental at all. Lol. Thanks to Raven, I guess.

Yes. Forced proximity enters the plot when Summer’s best friend, Raven, offers her a free stay at her beach house for a week… only for Summer to arrive and realize RJ is also staying there.

Now Summer and RJ are stuck spending an entire week together, surrounded by children, old memories, and unresolved feelings.

Summer spends her days trying to fight the hurt she still carries, not only from her high school heartbreak with RJ, but also from her recent divorce. Meanwhile, RJ tries to become the man she deserved years ago… and maybe still deserves now.

———

You don’t want to miss RJ’s sweetness that breaks all the walls in Summer’s heart. You don’t want to miss Summer’s panic that’ll make you say oh yeah, typical Mama’s panic that I can relate.

And the best news is, you can expect a very good laugh from a lot in this book. All the gross stuff Summer’s kids are obsessed with. All the hilarious conversations in Summer’s group chat. Adding more layer to its comedy, theres also some sleepy and drunk admissions that make you shake your head even after you finish reading.

———

“And I want all of it. All of you. The good. The bad. The embarrassing. Every piece that makes you who you are.”

———

“I went years without you, living in the dark without your sunshine to keep me warm. I don’t ever want to go back to that. Not again.”

———

“I wanted to be the only boy you ever kissed. But since we can’t have that, I’ll settle for being the last man you ever kiss.”

———

“You’re both smart kids, I can tell, but even smart kids make mistakes. Let’s learn from this, okay?”

———

“I get that as parents we’re human and have a right to feel frustration with our kids, but if my daughter ever overheard something I said that hurt her feelings, I would take ownership for my words and apologize. That’s what real men do.”

The Summer Plans completely stole my heart! Summer heads to her best friend’s beach house with her three kids for one last summer trip before they leave to spend the rest of the season with their dad, only to find out RJ, her first love, first heartbreak, and her best friend’s brother, is already staying there too. What starts as an awkward forced proximity situation with one bed and years of unresolved feelings turns into one of the sweetest, hottest, and best second chance romances I’ve read in a long time.

RJ Roth absolutely ruined me. This man was patient, emotionally mature, obsessed with Summer in the best way possible, and somehow also filthy mouthed enough to make me feral every other chapter. The pining in this book was INSANE. Every little thing he did for her and the kids made me melt because it never felt performative. He just kept showing up for her over and over again in ways that actually mattered, and that kind of devotion gets me every time.

And Mya More seriously writes some of the best boy characters ever. Logan and Lucas were chaotic little weirdos in the absolute best way possible, and every scene with them had me laughing. I also loved how much this story had underneath all the humor and spice. Summer’s anxiety, her fears after divorce, the pressure of carrying everything on her own, and all the hurt she still carried from RJ leaving her years ago felt so real at times.

This book somehow managed to be hilarious, emotional, comforting, and ridiculously hot all at once. I genuinely did not want to leave these characters by the end. And Raven secretly orchestrating the entire thing because she was tired of them both pining for years was honestly iconic behavior. I can't wait for her book!

There’s something about second chance romances set in small towns that feels like sinking into a warm lake at sunset, and this book absolutely delivered that feeling.

Summer Sampson and RJ Roth grew up together alongside RJ’s sister, Raven. Back then, Raven dared the two secretly smitten teenagers to kiss, which ended in the world’s most embarrassing braces incident imaginable. Mortifying? Absolutely. But beneath the humiliation was something real, and for one short week they explored that connection before RJ broke Summer’s heart by walking away.

Now years later, both divorced and raising kids, they unexpectedly end up sharing Raven’s beach house for a week while she prepares to sell it. One house, four kids, too few bedrooms, and enough unresolved tension to light the entire coastline on fire.

This story had the perfect balance of humor, heart, and chemistry. Mya More writes children so well, and the boys completely stole every scene they were in. Their chaos and nonstop commentary had me laughing constantly. At the same time, the emotional side of the story felt incredibly genuine. Summer’s anxiety, overthinking, and panic spirals were handled with so much care and realism.

And RJ? Certified book boyfriend material. He’s sweet, protective, patient, and somehow also the filthiest mouthed firefighter alive. The longing, the history between them, the way he never truly stopped loving her… absolute perfection.

This book felt tender, funny, emotional, and deeply comforting all at once. Easily one of my favorites in the Chestnut Mountain series.

I adored the first two books in this series and when I got the ARC of The Summer Plans I got so excited!
Sadly, this didn't do it for me. There was nothing wrong with the writing, as usual Mya's style is incredible. It has an awesome mix of heartwarming moments and funny ones with lots of spice and romantic gestures.
I think I had trouble connecting with the characters and their personalities. There were some inner monologues that made me cringe a little bit and some things didn't land the way I imagined they were supposed to and some others felt too repetitive.
Definitely the kids stole the show and the mom group as usual was top.tier. Their interactions are definitely the best.

Summer for me wasn't relatable in her feelings. For a second chance I expected more yearning and longing but she held a lot of grudge against someone she is actively interesting in getting to know about. She came across a bit judgmental for me and made a lot of unfair assumptions. RJ was more gracious about their past and you could see he had been doing a lot of inner reflection and was working towards being a better version of himself. He was great as a mmc but I didn't had that swoony moments with him. I loved his relationship with all the children, how patient he was with Summer.
I wish I liked this book more because it kills me that I didn't love it as I did the previous ones. Nonetheless, I will still read the next one, Mya's writing is just that good and I'm sure a lot of readers will love this one. So ready for Raven's turn!

Single Parents / Firefighter / Best Friend’s Brother / Forced Proximity / HEA

Chestnut Mountain Book Three - Summer Sampson, RJ Roth, and his sister Raven were best friends growing up. Raven knew that Summer and RJ were crushing on each other and dared them to kiss and get it out of their system. They locked braces and were humiliated, but they both felt a connection. They secretly spent the next week together only for him to walk away, breaking her heart. Years have passed; they’re both divorced with kids, and RJ has moved back to Chestnut Mountain. Raven has a beach house that she wants to sell and asks Summer to go spend a week there with her kids to check the place out. Little does she know that RJ and his daughter will be there the same week … oh my … four kids, two adults, and not enough bedrooms. Guess who ends up sharing??? Mya More has the uncanny ability to make me laugh so hard, and these little boys are freaking adorable. And RJ … what a swoony book boyfriend he is, be still my heart. As I was racing through this book, I was secretly hoping to get to read Raven’s story, and I am giddy to see it will be coming. Thank you so very, very much to Mya More and Naughty Nook PR for the advance copy.

**Best Second Chance Ever!**

*The Summer Plans* is the third book in the Chestnut Mountain series. Summer, RJ, and RJ's sister Raven all grew up together. After a dare gone wrong and some tangled braces during their first kiss, Summer and RJ secretly dated for about a week in high school before RJ completely ghosted her.

Years later, Summer is a single mom to three amazing kids, while RJ is a dedicated single dad to an incredible teenage girl. Thanks to a mix-up by Raven, they are both double-booked at a beach house at the same time. RJ is determined to show Summer that he will be there for her and her kids.

As RJ patiently waits for Summer to lower her walls and open up to him, Summer feels hesitant and hurt by RJ's past actions. However, as they reconnect throughout the week, she becomes curious about what really happened back then—why he ghosted her. Having been through enough with her ex-husband, she is wary of experiencing more hurt.

As they confront their past, the emotional healing they undergo only strengthens their connection, which is truly amazing. RJ is incredibly protective of Summer, and their flirty banter intensifies, leading to some of the hottest and most passionate moments.

Once again, More has created a captivating second-chance romance with Summer and RJ. The kids' hilarious back-and-forth banter had me laughing out loud from the first page. (I already know that reading a More book in public will earn me funny looks, but I don’t care.) The book also features a fantastic girls' squad that always supports each other, demonstrating what true friendship among women looks like.

RJ embodies the ideal book boyfriend from the moment he reconnects with Summer. This book is a feel-good read that warms my heart and is so easy to enjoy. I absolutely love this series and can't wait for the next book!

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Let me start by saying this was an absolutely beautiful read. This is book 3 in the Chestnut mountain series. If you want a book that is Second Chance Romance, force proximity, a single mom and dad, best friend's brother and firefighter honey this is your book.
This was an absolutely beautiful, emotional heartfelt read and the spice yes it hit just perfect.
In this book we get Summer and RJ who how beautiful chemistry and a bit of a rocky history.
RJ was Summer's first Love who he broke her heart pretty bad. So time passed and they wind up meeting on a vacation. Now I will say RJ brought comfort with a little bit of chaos which was amazing. But he also had to do a lot of proving to Summer that he wasn't the same boy that he was back then he was now a mature grown man.
I think that's what I really like about this book is it felt so real and it was so mature the way it was later just felt heartfelt.
Overall, this was an absolutely beautiful book like I've said many times. I think the authors of a phenomenal job with getting that point a crossed. The characters were absolutely beautiful and their growth and how far they've come, and together the chemistry was just amazing. I look forward to reading more in this series cuz I did go back and read books one and two they're all just as amazing.

The Summer Plans absolutely wrecked me in the best way. This third book in the Chestnut Mountain series follows Summer, a single mom of three rebuilding her life and career, who heads to Broccoli Bay to check on her best friend Raven’s summer place. What she does not expect is to end up there with Raven’s younger brother RJ, a single dad and firefighter who never got over their secret high school romance. What started as an embarrassing first kiss and sneaking off together for a week all those years ago has stayed with both of them ever since.

I could not put this book down. When a man can say, “I went years without you, living in the dark without your sunshine to warm me. I don’t ever want to go back to that” but also growl a deep “Mine,” before slapping her pussy, you know it is a 6 star read. RJ is the sweetest, swooniest, most filthy mouthed firefighter, and the pining from him was absolute perfection. Summer’s panic spirals and hilarious group chats had me laughing just as much as the emotional moments had me in my feelings. Mya once again delivered relatable, lovable characters mixed with top tier spice and emotional depth.

Honestly, this book was perfection for me. I cannot recommend this series enough.

Perfect for readers who love second chance romance, single parents, best friend’s brother dynamics, forced proximity, and emotionally intense spice.

second chances, forced proximity, and a fine firefighter single dad are your thing… RUN to Summer Plans by Summer Plans. 🔥🌊

Mya More really said:
✨ unresolved chemistry
✨ “it’s always been you”
✨ one bed
✨ beach house tension
✨ two exhausted single parents trying NOT to fall back in love

…and I ate up every second.

Summer and RJ had me screaming because the tension between them? FILTHY in the best way. The history, the longing, the way this man never truly got over her??? I was kicking my feet the entire time.

RJ being a firefighter AND a devoted dad automatically made him elite book boyfriend material. Meanwhile Summer was relatable, guarded, and trying so hard not to reopen old wounds… which obviously made everything hotter when those walls started cracking.

And the forced proximity in that beach house? Whew. Every look, every touch, every argument felt like foreplay.

But what really made this hit was the emotional depth underneath all the spice. The conversations about parenting, divorce, growing up, and finding your way back to someone felt so real.

This book feels like summer heat wrapped in nostalgia, tension, and yearning.

★★★

“Life may have hardened you, made you strong in ways you never thought you could be, and I may have stolen your sunshine, but I’m not going anywhere. I love every version of you, including the ones I’m still getting to know.”

I enjoyed this one, but it didn’t quite give me what I personally look for in a romance. The writing was good and easy to sink into, and there were definitely moments that made me smile, with a happy ending that felt satisfying. For me, though, I tend to prefer a slower burn with more build-up, tension, and longing, so the instant pull between the characters once they were reacquainted felt a little too quick for my taste, and I found myself wanting a deeper emotional connection to really invest in their romance. I also felt the family side of the story took up more space than I would usually enjoy, which is purely down to personal preference, because I can absolutely see this being a great fit for readers who love fun, spicy, family centred rom-coms with plenty of humour and heart. While it wasn’t a perfect match for my taste, there was still a lot to appreciate, and I definitely think this will be a story that suits a lot of readers.

RJ and Summer

Single mum x single dad
Beach romance
Childhood friends
Childhood crush
Best friend’s brother
The one that got away
Forced proximity
Only one bed

So, I don’t get it… She liked him; he liked her. So he dumped her, started dating another girl, married her, had a child, divorced, then did nothing…
Where is this supposed to convince me that she was his great love….
It’s semi-forgivable, because they were teens when he made that decision, but he’s still a bit of a dip.

I feel that the relationship development was a little missed… it was a story of miscommunication (and occasionally, no communication), and it got a little frustrating.
I don’t know… it was a kind of slow burn, but once they got together, it just felt really rushed. I mean, from ‘it can’t happen’ to ‘I love you’ in several pages… And then, they just jump straight into bed…. and it seems like they stay there.
However, the final chapters were good. Emotional, revealing, and very sweet.

This was an interesting read; I enjoyed it, but it also frustrated me too… Thanks, Ms More, for the advance copy.

4.25/5...This was such a cozy, emotional second-chance romance with all the summer beach-town vibes. Summer and RJ had so much history between them, and the chemistry never felt forced—it carried years of hurt, longing, and unfinished feelings in a really believable way. I especially loved how mature their relationship felt. They weren’t perfect, but they communicated, showed up for their kids, and genuinely tried to build something healthier the second time around. The mix of single-parent chaos, sweet kid moments, and RJ stepping naturally into Summer’s world made the story feel warm and grounded. The forced proximity and one-bed moments delivered exactly the tension and tenderness you want from this kind of romance without feeling overly dramatic. A few parts felt a little predictable, and I wanted slightly more depth toward the end emotionally, but overall this was heartfelt, comforting, and very easy to fall into. Perfect for readers who love emotional second chances, blended-family vibes, and summer romances with lots of heart. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This has got to be the best series I have read! I also think this is my new favorite book in the series, but I feel like Raven's book will be amazing!
If you haven't read the other books in the series, it's ok, but you definitely should since it's a mom friend group and each book has been about them.
RJ and Summer get "conveniently" double booked at RJ's sister, Raven, beach house.
Summer is a single mom to 3 and just needs a break, but do you really get a break at the beach being a SINGLE MOM of 3?
RJ is a single father and has one teenage daughter that is giving all the teen angst.
RJ has always loved Summer and being so close at the beach house, he is doing everything he can to prove to her that he can be a great partner and father figure to her children.
Mya has THE BEST children's dialogue and honestly she is so realistic in the s**** that kids say I am laughing my butt off every time. Be warned there is lots of poop jokes, and you learn a lot about sea life and their...bodily fluids!
Oh...did I mention there is hella good spice! (also, a lot of Mya's character art includes a spicy scene).
Make sure to add this to your summer must reads list!

Please read the content notes on this one before meeting Summer and RJ, there are some difficult topics mentioned from their past.

If you are good with the tropes and a lover of second chances and years of yearning. Jump right in!!

These two were middle school friends, high school kissers and then spent years apart with other spouses before finding themselves as single parents. Raven (sister of RJ and friend to Summer), sets them up to be at the same vacation house for a week, where one bed has them unable to deny their feelings any longer!!

It was heartwarming to watch RJ show up for Summer and give her the relief and support she rarely received from her exhusband. I appreciated that the group chat stayed (love those ladies!), that the phallic cookies made their return and RJ really did have a naughty mouth once you got to the spice.

I will say this pair felt a bit more subdued than previous Mya couples, which had me a little antsy to see when they would finally crack and give in.

Thank you to Mya and the Naughty Nook for sharing this couple with me in advance!

The Summer Plans is book 3 in an interconnected series about a group of friends, but can be read as standalone. A second chance, best friend’s brother, just-one-bed romance.

Summer and RJ shared their first kiss as teenagers but then grew apart due to misunderstandings. Now they’re both divorced, single parents, and coincidentally sharing a beach house for a summer vacation.
I loved how well RJ and Summer’s kids got along. There were a few hilarious moments and the sexy times were really good! RJ knows his way with words (and his mouth in general)!

“But you’re missing the fireworks.” “They’ll look even more beautiful in the reflection of your eyes.”

It’s a good book with a great storyline, and it doesn’t shy away from somewhat “more difficult” topics, but the “we can’t tell Raven (RJ’s sister and Summer’s best friend) yet” felt a bit repetitive to me and could have been mentioned less. Hey, you’re all adults and can make your own decisions, right?!

Nevertheless, I love the writing style and had a great time reading it. And I am absolutely going to read the next book in the series.

I received an arc of the ebook and this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

If you want a book that has a the summer vibes then this is the one!!! 🏖️🏝️☀️🐬🦀

•single mom
•single dad
•best friends brother
•second chance romance
•one bed

Rj is literally my new favorite book boyfriend, the way he’s always been in love with Summer and the way he just always pined and yearned for her like YESSS!!!

Fav quotes:

“Gonna stop you right there darlin’. I’m not going anywhere, so you can get that thought out of your head. I told you, I’m not making the same mistake my teenage self made. You are it for me Summer. I’ll get on one knee right now if you want me to.”

“You were pushing. I was chasing. And I’ve spent a lifetime wanting you. We’ve grown and changed since we were kids, but we’re still the same people at our core. You know me, you know my heart, and I’m telling you, you’re it for me. It took me years to figure out all the things I wanted out of life, but I’ve known I wanted you since middle school.”

This book made me giggle, laugh, cry, and all of the above!!! Definitely 10/10 5 stars, I loved everything about this story! 😩😍🏖️🤭

The Summer Plans by Mya More

★★★★★

This book felt so real to me, and honestly, that’s what made me love it so much.

Summer and RJ’s story pulled me in right from the beginning. The history between them, the unresolved feelings, and all the what-ifs from the past made every interaction feel meaningful. You could tell these weren’t just two people falling in love—they were two people getting a second chance at something they never truly got over.

As a single mom of three and a single dad trying to build a better future, Summer and RJ felt mature and relatable. I loved watching them navigate family, responsibilities, and the feelings they thought they’d left behind years ago.

RJ was everything I love in a hero—protective, patient, supportive, and completely gone for his girl. Add in the beach house setting, forced proximity, one bed, and all that second-chance tension, and I was hooked.

This story had heart, chemistry, family moments, and plenty of emotion. If you love second-chance romance, best friend’s brother, single parents, firefighters, and stories that feel authentic, definitely add this one to your TBR.

I flew through this book, read it in a few hours & couldn’t put it down.

When Raven dared best friend Summer & brother RJ to kiss at a party, she thought it would end her bestie’s crush. But it had the opposite effect. Summer & RJ spent a week together; before teenage RJ broke Summer’s heart. Both appearing to move on with their lives, nothing lived up to that first love. Summer had a really tough time of it, & RJ never felt as fulfilled as he did with Summer.

So when Raven accidentally double books her beach house, Summer & RJ are forced to spend a week together (with their combined four children in tow!). summer spends the week unable to move past the hurt, & RJ spends the week attempting to be the man she deserves & the father figure her children are desperate for.

Is it too little too late; or can they admit to themselves - & each other - how they feel, & can they forgive & move on together?

Summer and RJ’s romance is so, so sweet! This found family group of single moms that Mya More has created is so fun and beautiful and everything in between.

Second chance romance
Forced proximity
Single mom x single dad
It’s always been you
Best friend’s brother

Summer and RJ had a fling back in high school that lasted a week that abruptly ended, but that didn’t stop both of them from still holding a candle for the other.

Now it’s decades later and they are forced in an accidental (or not so accidental) forced proximity situation – being in the same space for the first time in a long time. This forces them to face their feelings of the past. Will they be able to move past that hurt and loneliness that has followed them all these years?

I loved this book! Summer is such a great mom and so flipping relatable! I loved seeing her get to just be herself at times, instead of just being Summer the mom. I loved RJ and how much he loved Summer and was willing to do anything for another chance.

NOW THAT ENDING!! I am so looking forward to Raven’s book!

The Summer Plans absolutely wrecked my heart, but in the best possibly way. I just adored Summer and RJ, and their second chance at love.

Summer was looking for quiet relaxing summer vacation with her kids. After being offered a beach house by her best friend to stay at, all she had to do was get it ready for her to sell. Sounds like the perfect scenario. What she did not expect was for her friend’s brother to also be staying at the house. Her friend’s brother, who was also her first kiss that she never got over. RJ, and the unfinished business that go with him, was not in the plans…like at all!

Summer is such a strong mom to her three kids, one of whom has type I diabetes. She has been through the wringer in her previous relationship. She needs someone dependable to be a true partner for her. While on the surface RJ doesn’t necessarily seem like the perfect fit, I could not pick someone better suited for her. He really shows up and proves that he is the man for her, his actions definitely speak louder than words here.

I devoured this book in less than a day, it was so good! Thank you so much to Mya More and to Naughty Nook PR for the advanced copy!

The Summer Plans
By: Mya More

Summer Sampson is the only woman I’ve ever truly loved. And I stole her sunshine. It wasn’t intentional, and fuck if I don’t regret it every day of my life.

It may have taken me a while to figure out what I wanted in life, but I’ve known since I was twelve that I wanted her. She’s been the one constant for me.

“When I told you I crave you, I meant it, Summer.”

Summer and RJ’s book is exactly what I love to read In a second chance romance! It’s quick paced without the back and forth. RJ knows he messed things up years ago and now that he has a second chance he isn’t letting it go this time! With some meddling by her bestie, Summer and her kids and RJ and his daughter spend a week together on vacation. And discover those feelings for each other are still there and still strong. Such a cute quick read!

RJ and Summer were in a relationship in high school for about a week before he went further out of respect for his sister's friendship with Summer.

Years later Summer and RJ are both divorced and single with kids. RJ's sister double books Summer and RJ at her beach house. Both had been yearning and pining for what could have been. RJ, however, is going to use this time to convince Summer to finally be his, kids and all. This man jumps into the deep end without a parachute. He was ready to show Summer how it could be. I loved all the shenanigans and real life situations shown with his daughter and Summer's 2 rowdy boys and girl. And this had 1 bed trope, nerdy glasses, along with a spicy mirror scene, and he supported her romance reading with toys.. whoo wee.

RJ helps give Summer her confidence back and will make her his before the summer plans end.

One thing I always think when I read a book by Mya is that her characters are always so relatable.

I truly loved Summer & RJ and everything from their hard-won second chance to the shenanigans with the kids. There were laugh out loud moments, heartbreaking moments, and moments that made me want to jump through the book and beat someone (looking at you Todd)!

The kids were perfect and I loved all of the details of each of their personalities, but I loved most how RJ worked so hard to include the kids in everything and to be what they needed and what was missing from their lives, which made me adore him even more.

Then we get to this man and his poetic words and it was full swoon ahead! Summer never stood a chance, not that her heart wanted to anyways. These two were just perfect in the sweetest and most imperfectly perfect way.

“Hey, sunshine,”

If you’re looking for a well written easy to fall into summer read, then pick this one up. The Summer Plans is a sweetly satisfying second chance romance full of great vibes, the best humor
and sizzling steam.

Summer takes her three littles on a vacation to her bestie’s beach house only to find it already occupied by the man that broke her heart but still holds it hostage. So buckle up for pining, temptation, and all the fun that one bed can deliver.

We pretty much hit the jackpot with RJ. Aside from being amazing in every way (but especially with the kids), he’s a firefighter, single dad, wears slutty glasses and reads. Honestly that should do it right there but he also has a mouth on him. Hallelujah.

I just have to add, I love the way Mya writes kids. They are flat out AWESOME and super funny.

So stop wasting time here and go download this one ASAP.

Thanks for letting me beta read this Mya! Happy release day!!

The Summer Plans by Mya More is a cute little summer read that had heart, chemistry, and two main characters that felt real enough for me to know personally. In this novel, we get to meet a single mom named Summer who is desperate for a fresh start that would be perfect for her and her two children. Along the way, while staying at her best friends beach house, she happens upon RJ, a single dad, firefighter, and the one she gave her first kiss to. One of the things I really liked about this book was how easy to read it was with each turn of the page keeping me invested in Summer and RJ's romance. Overall, The Summer Plans was a charming and heartfelt small-town romance that I am sure other readers would enjoy if they give it a chance!

I received an ARC copy from Naughty Nook PR. Thank you so much for giving me a chance to read and voluntarily review this novel!
