Predictable shifter read but it was still sweet
This made for a short but satisfying read. Here's my breakdown:
The pros:
* The epilogue for this read was off the charts perfection
* It was fast paced
* Fairly priced and well worth its current listing price of .99
* It had a hint of mystery involved which I enjoyed
The cons:
* I wanted to know more about the heroes desire for the heroine in the beginning - it was obvious he wanted her but I never really got a grasp as to what it was about her, etc.
* It was a bit cliché - a pretty typical shifter read
* I never really fell in love with the heroine - she was 21 years(I believe) but seemed younger and I really didn’t like how "protective" her father and brothers were of her - it was just a bit much and didn’t seem plausible
Overall, I enjoyed this book. If you are looking for a quick paranormal read that flows well and has a HEA this one will definitely do the trick. I'll check out future books in this series.

Wolf Shifter Virginia Battle spent her life being smothered by her Alpha father and brothers. She wants her freedom and not to be under the thumb of the men in her life. If Virginia doesn't have enough problems she has Carver Lawrence, an Alpha showing up everywhere she is. He has made his intentions semi clear so when Virginia heads out of town for a weekend away, she never plans to wake up with a wedding ring on her finger and Carver in her bed. Now Carver wants to get to know more of Virginia and they are having their faux honeymoon at Honeymoon Mountain but something is amiss and Virginia is determined to figure out what.
I liked this one quite a bit. Virginia is a hoot and I thought Carver was perfect for her. She doesn't want to give her heart to Carver but he has a way of allowing her to be who she wants to be without being overbearing. Another great one in this series.

4.65 Stars!!!
I picked this up and have not read books 1-5....but wow was this a good story. I love the story line...that is what really stands out and the witty dialogue of the heroine. Virginia is sick of overbearing alphas...coming from a family of alpha brothers and the alpha of her pack-her dad who are all constantly controlling her life. She ignores Carver who chases her all over and shows up everywhere she is scaring off all the potential dates....and if it is not him then it is her brothers. She is wanting to have a life of her own and plans a weekend get away with a friend....only she ends up hung over and in bed with a new husband....Carver! This is only the beginning of the story. She and Carver decide to go on a pretend honeymoon...at least she can have her weekend away from her overbearing family....what she finds in the two weeks away is that not only is Carver a really hot sexy male but he is a friend and probably will be a great husband/mate. I won't even go into the sub story that develops.....It is quite interesting and worth the read. The only thing I missed is the "pre" story and how the alpha/hero finds himself enamored with the heroine....but maybe that was in the earlier books......I have to go and back fill now and read some more of this series.

A hard won Battle
This book was absolutely amazing! That being said I hope it’s not the last story as there are more Battles that need to find their HEA. I love that we got to see the hard fought HEA between Virginia and Carver. They are so good at taking verbal pot shots at each other, but they are also so good at loving each other. The author added just the right amount of action and danger to the tale, making for a read that I couldn’t put down until the very end. I especially enjoyed the epilogue and can’t wait to find out what happens with the rest of the Battle clan.

Virginia is sick and tired of constantly being bossed around by her annoying alpha brothers and her alpha father. And now Carver, the alpha who used to be the Beta of the pack who kidnapped her cousin is sniffing at her heels. Like she would ever give him a chance. She needs to be her own person. Except when she gets drunk and marries him she must find out either how to live with him, or how to get him to agree to an annulment.
Carver has wanted Virginia since the first time she dumped a pitcher of beer on his head. Now that she is his wife all he has to do is convince her to stay with him. Totally not an issue. She wants to be shown that she can still be her own person while being the ate of an Alpha. She just has to trust him first. What better place to do that than far away from her family on their Honeymoon; on Honeymoon Mountain none the less.
By far the best in the series that I have read so far. Given it is the 6th book in the series and of those 6 this is the 3rd one that I have read. Virginia is the sassiest most stubborn woman that I have read about so far. Can Carver give Virginia the independence she has been straining for her whole life? Can Virginia learn to trust Carver enough with her secrets?

Carter & Virginia
I had wondered what the significance of Carter was going to be. He was in Maddox & Katrina's story a lot. All we knew was he drove Katrina crazy! LOL
He's moved to Timber Valley after they got together. He was a bit obsessed with a certain wolf who had Alpha brother's who watched her like a hawk, baby sister & all! Carter only followed her when she went to the club. The Zoo is a sex, BDSM, dance club for shifters of all kinds. All he had to do was stare at a guy talking to Virginia & they left her alone. Quickly!!
Virginia was ready to kill him! She'd lived all her life with her Alpha brothers. The last thing she wanted in a mate was Alpha!! She kept as far away from him as possible. Unfortunately, when she did get close he turned her on. And he knew it from wolf sense of smell! Damn him!!

I have definitely fallen for this author's wolf shifter books I enjoy them tremendously whether it's because Maxine Mitchell does the audio I'm not sure it can't be just that because the story lines are very good this storyline was it had a bit of mystery I got to see Virginia who was in the other books which makes these books really quite cool that you see characters that you've already met but this book was all about Virginia so this is kind of Virginia's book. I would recommend this stories and if you like wolf shifters and mysterious is definitely has the alpha that has the you know spicy sex but it has a great storyline going through it of what's going on and it's very enjoyable I would read another one if she brings another one out.

I did enjoy the different slant of this story.
Found Virginia a bit childish at first in her tantrum behaviour but grew to like her. Finding out what she was doing and who she was working for made me admire her.
Carver is a very sneaky male which I found quite funny at times but his attitude really needed adjustment. He did realise if he wanted a happy mating then he needed to learn to support Virginia, not control her.
The actual story of the poor people and what they were going through was terrible.

I liked Virginia, she was quirky, funny and not afraid to stand up for herself, especially when it came to alpha males. The way she deals with her father and brothers was excellent. The end of an amazing, enjoyable series.
When I read the first book in this series I wouldn't wait to read the next, I read them back to back until the this last one. Each book is filled with tension, excitement, passion and suspense. All the right ingredients to keep me all eager to turn each page. I am sorry to the end. I now have a new favourite author for a exciting sexy alpha shifter romance. Book 1 and 4 is my favourite of the series.

Ww met Virginia in the last episode when she tipped a jug of beer over Carver's head.
Now, Carver has come to her territory to stake his claim. It may seem like they are oil and water, but over time, the sharpeners disappear, and they learn to rub along together.

Excellent series!
This book was a enjoyable way to pass a few hours. I have purchased them in both ebook and audio formats. It really brings this well written book and it's characters to life! I highly recommend this book this whole series!

I actually liked it for the devious behaviour of a healer which made it different and the best friend and mooning boy created some comic relief. Still not a fan of spanking though, which means I skipped bits…

Series end!
Good book to wrap up the adventures and trials of Timber Valley Pack. Virginia and Carver have faced some serious issues but finally worked through. Ending is surprisingly touching and a bit sad. Epilogue gives the happy ever after.

I enjoyed this very much , it’s got a decent story and good characters.
The sex is too graphic and I really dislike the use of the C word , Ms St Clair hasn’t done this before and I hope it doesn’t become a bad habit.
The Audible version performed by Maxine Mitchell really adds to the fun.
