The long awaited second book in the Silent Oath series and I devoured this like a slab of fudge cake. A Siren’s Call set the bar high and this did not disappoint.
Sam our drummer finishes his world tour ready to set up life with the woman he loves and just when you’re confused that everything feels a little too perfect - chaos strikes and Sam has to face his demons. Romance, spice and the most disgustingly well written villain.
I finished the last chapters with a lump in my throat. I love this book, I love the plot, I love the characters.

C.M Harte pulled it out of the bag with this one!
After not reading book 1 in the silent oath series, so going in blind, I quickly became obsessed with Sam and Sophia's story.
I laughed, cried, felt all the anxiety, and cried some more..this book is just beautifully written and has vary real, relatable themes throughout.
A drummer and a single mum battling a psychotic ex who's out to do anything possible to ruin Sophia's happiness. And yet, Sophia stays that mum who only wants what's best for her son.
The battles she deals with are very real and relatable yet she's so resilient it just made me love her even more.
Sams battles with alcoholism are written in such a real world way; the shame, the hiding drinking, the denial before admitting an issue made me invest in Sam so much I just couldn't put this book down.
With the hard themes throughout, Sam being a soft and caring MMC really fit in well to the overall story. This has a mild spice theme, with really passionate love as opposed to raw and brutal.
The silent oath series is definitely not one to miss! I would highly recommend this book and will be buying both book 1 and 2 myself! I need more silent oath and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. Much heavier then A Sirens Call but written very well. The ex being how he is and the ending makes it feel almost romantic suspense. Thoroughly enjoyed.

I personally read this book without reading the first book in the series and i didn’t have any confusion and managed to keep up fine 💕

the story started just after they met which I found really refreshing. i enjoyed being able to get right into the story and i think the author did a great job of providing enough context of their meeting as to not leave me lost and to settle into the book quickly.
the story did include themes of addiction and the pace of the addiction trope didn’t feel forced or rushed or even fake. it felt like a very accurate and important representation of an addict’s thought process which i found really interesting.
now, THE SPICE. i effing loved the power dynamic in the spice and ohhh it hit! the spice wasn’t overbearing and felt well placed and natural to the story which i loved and when those scenes came, they HIT 😍

it was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy; the author kept the theme sweet and lighthearted whilst being able to zero in on those serious and dark moments and bring you into the characters thoughts and fears.

I received this book as an ARC and have been dying to read this since I finished a Sirens Call over a year ago.
I have beeb super unwell with migraines so havent been able to read until now and I am so glad this was the first book I picked it. I finished it all today because I COULS NOT PUT IT DOWN!
Loved it.
It tackles so many difficult themes effortlessly and I am in Awe of CM and her ability to write such incredible books!

This was my first read from C.M. Harte and my first rockstar romance so I was excited to see how it would fair, I was pulled in from the off. If you’re looking for an opposites-attract romance with a rockstar falling for a single mam, mixed in with plenty of real-life struggles, then you definitely need this on your TBR.
Sophia is such a cracking FMC. She’s a strong woman who’s completely devoted to her son, and I loved her no-nonsense attitude, especially with her annoying ex constantly popping up and trying to control her life. Then there’s Sam, on the surface, he comes across as your typical funny, charming party lad, but as the story goes on you see there’s so much more to him. By all accounts he shouldn’t want this type of relationship but they just seem to fit and the author explores this with such emotion you cant help but get pulled into the story. Watching Sam, his struggles and the hurt he’s been carrying slowly come to light made him a really interesting character.
The chemistry between them is brilliant. They’re total opposites, with Sophia keeping Sam grounded when his life feels all over the place. The slow build between them is done really well, and I was rooting for Sam to get his act together as I do love a happy ending.
The supporting characters add another layer to the story without overshadowing the main FMC/MMC which really strengthens the plot.
The emotional side of the story gets pretty heavy at times, and a couple of the events towards the end felt a bit much for me personally. That said, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the book.
The ending, I don’t think I’ve even processed it properly yet!
If you’re after a romance that’s got plenty of laughs, tugs at your heart, and a story about healing, family, and finding your person in the place you’d least expect then I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go.
I’m off to read a Sirens Call now, I know it’s back to front but I want to see what else this author has to offer. Great book, great story 😁

I would like to say thank you to the author C.M Harte and the wings and words community for giving me the opportunity to arc read this book.
I really enjoyed reading this it was a nice change to have the Mmc Sam be a sweet romantic and sexy guy who loves the Fmc Sophia with all he has. It was also amazing to see Sophia be a strong woman who takes charge in the bedroom at times, it’s a rare thing in books to see a strong, powerful Fmc and I loved it.
This book deals with the Mmc having issues and a complex problem with alcohol abuse and addiction. It was written in a realistic and heartbreaking manner that had me sobbing at times.
However it was amazing to read about Sam’s recovery journey and love story and how he overcame his struggles with the help of his amazing friends his band members and his family and the Fmc.
This book also deals with a Sophia being a mother with a toxic ex navigating a messy custody battle.
This book was incredible the only thing that could have improved my reading experience is entirely me fault because I didn’t think it was important to read the first book in the series and I read this as a standalone leaving me with less knowledge about the side characters and leaving me a bit confused at first so I highly recommend reading the full series to avoid confusion.

Loved this book! This book follows single mum Sam and her boyfriend Sam a drummer in a famous band. We see Sophia fight through the court with her ex who has discovered that Sam has an addiction to alcohol. He doesn’t really care about his son. But he’s dragging her through the custody process because he’s jealous of Sam’s band success. The story shows what Sam will do for Sophia and Spencer and the lengths he will go to protect them both.
We see the bonds and support that both Sam and Sophia have surrounding them.
The revelations that we see towards the end of the book are what pushed this from a 4 to a 5 star read for me.

Lovely read, finished it in a day!
I enjoyed the story and getting to the characters a little more, but certain aspects of their relationship felt a little rushed.
Some of the dialog felt like it was forced, like MMC bigging up the FMC. I’m not mad about it, but it just felt a little too pointed but it has a purpose in the story and in real life.
Addiction storyline was done so accurate that I did have to take a break at one point in the story (Ex was an alcoholic and it was a little triggering)
I’d have loved a little more detail from MMC side after the major incident with the leg incident though.
I enjoyed the story and getting to the characters a little more, but certain aspects of their relationship felt a little rushed.

Sam completely stole my heart. Although he was described as struggling with alcohol addiction, I found myself feeling more sadness than judgment for everything he goes through. His journey was emotional, and I couldn't help but root for him every step of the way.
Sophia was equally wonderful. I absolutely loved seeing her fiercely protective side as a mother. Her devotion to her son added so much depth to her character and made her incredibly easy to connect with.
While I personally preferred the first book, I still thoroughly enjoyed this one. The chemistry was fantastic, the spice was well written and perfectly balanced with the emotional moments, and the characters kept me invested from beginning to end. Overall, a heartfelt romance that I'd definitely recommend.

Well well well CM Harte you have done it again! I love how different this book is to the first one but equally as good! I loved the alcohol abuse rep and it was done very well! The tension in this book was just perfect and I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster! Gimme more!!

Wow. Just wow. C.M. Harte has completely outdone herself with A Cymbal of His Love.
First of all:

This book is vastly different from the first installment, A Siren's Call, but it is every bit as deeply captivating. While the first book set a completely different tone, this story took a path I never could have predicted, and I absolutely loved being kept on my toes.
What truly blew me away was how incredibly well-written the Main Male Character's (MMC) journey was. His battle with alcoholism hit incredibly close to home for me. Harte handles this sensitive topic with so much raw honesty—perfectly capturing the messy, painful reality of denial, stubbornness, absence, and finally, the grueling path toward acceptance. Watching him fight through the darkness to come out stronger on the other side was profoundly moving.
This book is a rollercoaster for the soul. It is deep, emotional, and shockingly real—it hits you right in the feels from start to finish. C.M. Harte truly did a number on my emotions throughout the entire story, but closing that final page just left me with a massive, satisfied sigh.
It is easily just as brilliant as her first book, though in its own unique way. I am officially hooked and will be eagerly counting down the days for the next release!

Sophia is so strong but not in that flawless, untouchable way. She’s a single mom carrying the weight of a deadbeat ex, protecting her son with everything she has, and still somehow keeping her heart open enough to let Sam in despite every warning bell in her head. I loved her quiet determination and the way her calm presence slowly becomes the anchor Sam desperately needs.
Sam, on the other hand, is pure chaos wrapped in charm, and the author writes him so convincingly that you can’t help but root for him even when he’s making questionable choices. His humor, the way he hides real pain behind jokes and late night parties, watching him grapple with his own demons while trying to prove himself worthy of Sophia and her son was both heartbreaking and hopeful.
Their dynamic is electric, the classic “opposites attract” done right, where her steadiness doesn’t extinguish his fire but gives it direction.

I devoured this. Coming off of book one, I didn't know how I felt about Sam. I still didn't when I was 70% through this one!
Now, I understand why people are calling him a hero.
The story was fantastic, the spicy was delicious, and the suspense was phenomenal.
But, my favourite part?
The emotion. What stayed with me most was Sam's journey. His struggles with alcohol addiction and the constant feeling that he wasn't good enough or worthy of the people around him felt heartbreakingly real. Watching him battle those thoughts was difficult at times, but that's what made his growth so rewarding.
My favourite part was seeing him slowly begin to view himself through the eyes of the people who loved him instead of through the harsh lens of his own self-doubt. Realising that he was worthy—not because he had changed into someone else, but because he always was—was incredibly moving. It's the kind of character development that lingers long after you've finished the book.
C.M. has created a story that balances vulnerability, hope, and love beautifully. If you enjoy romances that explore emotional healing, redemption, and characters who have to learn to love themselves before they can fully accept the love of others, I highly recommend this book.

This is classed as a standalone interconnected series. I had read A Siren's Call last year but I am someone who forgets the plot of a book about 24 hrs after reading it. So I did struggle at the beginning to get my wires straight. For someone who hasn't read book 1, this may be difficult to get into.
Now I loved Sam's character arc. I think his struggle with addiction was really well written, explained and developed in a very real world scenerio.
On the other hand, Sophia was written in a way to make you want to face plant yourself or even her at times. But again, this was done to show how addiction is explained away and gaslit.
Sophia's mum did my head in. She just seemed to be looking out for her in a toxic way and I felt her side character didn't quite fit with Sophia.
Overall, a great read. I couldn't put it down and would definitely recommend this series and author to everyone.

I loved the first book, but this second one blew me away with a storyline I completely didn't expect! Following Sam, Sophie, and Spencer was such an emotional rollercoaster. The book beautifully handles the heavy reality of being a single mom dealing with an ex who only shows up when it's convenient, and how heartbreaking it is when he lets their son down. It also captures the drama of him not wanting his baby's mother to move on while his own dating life is a mess. The depth of the characters was incredible. Getting to know Sam better, seeing his internal struggles, and watching him balance his passion for the drums with his love life made me appreciate him so much more. Plus, getting intimate updates on how the rest of the band is progressing was a huge bonus. C.M. Hearte wrote a beautiful book, and I am desperately hoping for a third! So many emotions, so much tension, so much love! Thank you for this C. M.! I was not a huge fan of Sam in the first book due to how affect on Come and Ava's relationship, though it did create a lot of tension, but he is now completely forgiven.
His struggles, his devotion, his healing. What a great turnaround for a character. I can't blame Sophia for her caution, her absolute devotion to her child, and her love for Sam. Daniel... holy cow and Hayley got off easy (in the written portion story), but us experiencing her comeuppance wasn't necessary. Neither wad the beginning of chapter 57. Mean, just mean.
Be aware that this storyline contains alcoholism/addiction, recovery/relapse, and healing.
Okay, I'm ready for Theo's or Paddy's story now 😀.

Thank you for this ARC opportunity. This was a wild ride from start to finish and kept me on my toes the whole time. The characters stayed true to the versions we met in book one while still going on their own journey and growth arc. C.M. managed to give us the vibes of book one while giving us a totally new and unique story for book two. It can be hard with interconnected standalones to not fall into a formula or go too far out from the initial ground work, but she managed to balance that line beautifully and give us a fresh storyline that I could not put down. (Well except to draw some fan art).

He was kind, supportive, and completely devoted to Sophia, which made their relationship feel so real. It was impossible not to root for them.
