This is the forth book from “The O’Ryan Family” series, but it can be read as a standalone.
I was captivated by Witt O’Ryan and his unique personality. He was really smart and knew very well how to invest his knowledge and skills in building a successful gaming company. But he was a bit closed when it came to his feelings and that intrigued me so much, especially when Maci Hart came into his company. Their chemistry was so, so good and electrifying, enjoying so much that instant connection they felt when they first met. I really liked how well they completed each other and how their shared passion for the world of games brought them closer. I enjoyed that mystery behind their secret identities from the past and how it was connected to everything that was happening with them in the present. That made me super curious to see how everything will turn out for them, if that connection face to face will be as strong as the one they shared online.
I had a great time discovering these characters and to see how passionate they were about their work and about each other. It was a forced proximity, workplace romance which kept me captivated by the intense connection between the main characters and the fun one which was present between the siblings.

4.5 stars. This story is dual POV, well written, and an emotionally complex and evocative, forced proximity, secret identity, boss/employee, contemporary sports romance between Witt, the male neurodiverse tech billionaire lead, and Maci, the female (differently) neurodiverse presenting creative strategist lead, who are childhood penpals, though they don’t know it. I have been waiting for Witt’s story for the whole series and, whilst I was a little surprised by the focus that the author chose, I was very happy! I enjoyed Maci’s spontaneous creativity, and the way she had persevered with her interests in spite of a lack of understanding from her family. I enjoyed Witt’s character development arc and his opening up to new possibilities. I enjoyed the relationship development, and the steamy intimate scenes. I empathised with both characters’ struggle to reconcile how to deal with their much-loved penpal and their real life. I enjoyed the supportive secondary characters, chuckled at the banter, and adored seeing the characters from previous stories in the series. I enjoyed the setup for the next story and laughed at Witt’s father’s response to being pushed to consider his options. I enjoyed the happy ending.

Witt… billionaire gaming genius, football dynasty heir, and secretly still holding onto a decade-old connection.
Maci… driven, talented, and finally getting the career opportunity she’s worked for.
Where to start… I really loved this one. Even though it’s a sport romance, the e-sport angle made it feel different, especially because it was tied into such a longstanding history between Witt and Maci.
And the secret! We know what’s going on, but it stays hidden for almost the entire book. Usually with this trope, I’m bracing myself for the inevitable betrayal, drama and third-act breakup, but thankfully Kristin Lee didn’t go down that route. Instead, we got to see how much both characters had grown, and I really, really appreciated that.
I also loved the whole family aspect and having everyone involved. The O’Ryan family dynamics continue to be an absolute highlight! I do wish Maci’s family had been given a little more attention, though. I absolutely loved her brother, but I was disappointed that her parents could essentially disregard her achievements for years simply because e-sports wasn’t a “traditional” sport.
Now, Witt does give me ND vibes, and he was an absolute sweetheart. A little awkward at times, but such a wonderful MMC, who falls hard and fast without even realising it.
Overall, a fantastic addition to the series with a unique romance, a long-standing secret, great family dynamics and characters who actually show some emotional growth. Definitely one of my favourites so far!

The best saved for last-I LOVED Witt & Maci
Witt’s book was in my mind, the most anticipated of Author Kristin Lee’s O’Ryan Family series, and oh holy cow, with GLITCHED, she more than delivered making this one of my top reads for 2026. I loved, laughed and more than cried while reading my way through, trying not to embarrass myself in the gym or at work because I could not put it down. Book apps on my phone feeds my reading addiction perfectly.
GLITCHED stood out from the rest of the series where the intensity of Ms Lee’s writing brought the under-rated, quietly shadowed world of gaming to the fore-front of it’s loud and vibrant football sports series associates. In the same way, with Maci who understood him in a way his family didn’t seem to, Witt found his way into the people world as an equal among his loud and boisterous siblings.
I love Maci Hart. She was also from a sports orientated family, and while they loved her, they simply couldn’t understand that on-line gaming competitions were as elite as any high level sports games;
“My parents have never watched me play in an online tournament. They’ve never seen my hands cramp after hours of practice or heard the way a team chat goes dead right before a final round or understood that one wrong move can cost you the whole match. ... It takes obsession and to my parents, that’s different than being disciplined.”
The layout of GLITCHED was perfect, and in meeting Maci, we see the start of her finally meeting a gaming innovator she’d always admired, never dreaming she’d get employed by him. It’s the start of her dream career all while endeavouring to move on from a future that never came to fruition;
“After ten years of writing to Glitch—my pen pal, my online gaming partner, the person who knows every version of me except the one with a real name and a face—I should know how to say goodbye. But we’ve been growing apart in tiny, quiet ways, and somehow that hurts more than one big ending ever could.”
There were small excerpts from their pen pal letters at the start of each chapter which I thought were inspiring, and I loved seeing who they’d been individually as young ones developing their gaming skills, encouraging and supporting each other, without belabouring the past. Some of them even spoke to me personally ...
“Encrypted Message: Rune: If life comes with a tutorial mode, I definitely skipped it."
From the moment they started working together it was like a connection of two souls. The banter and witty comments brought emotions out of Witt that neither his family or his closest staff saw very often, and I had to laugh. Maci understood Witt’s analytical and efficient mind, the recognition of patterns, collating data to tease out possible problems and solving them in an imaginative way. Witt loved seeing Maci succeed while Maci loved seeing Witt with his family and recognised that in his own quiet way, within their pandemonium, he loved them immeasurably, and differently, that maybe they didn’t even recognise for themselves;
“They love you.” “I know.” The certainty in his voice surprises me ... like love is one of the few data points he doesn’t question. “They show it loudly,” I say. “Unfortunately.” “But you show it quietly.”
Just wow. The entire book brought out a heavy dose of the feels and never seemed to let me go. Even writing this review brings me to tears – again! Ms Lee wrote the vulnerability that being neurodiverse in a world of ‘typicals’ invokes, in a succinct yet a beautiful and profoundly emotional way. Witt’s family were outgoing celebrities in the football world of super-athletes, all involved in the family business surrounding the football sports franchise, and I loved that Witt found his own innovative way to participate and flourish alongside them. What I loved most was that Witt, in my mind, surrendered the heavy load he’d carried on his shoulders throughout his entire life, and found that their father had understood him more deeply than he could ever have known 😭
"I've coached championships." He smiles. "But you've changed the world in your own way. You bring people together to do something they enjoy."
What an amazing book GLITCHED is! It’s quietly and intensely written, just like it’s characters, but it stood out as a stronger book that just demanded allllllll the attention. It’s my favourite and Witt is the brother I admired the most, just as Witt’s fans thought he was way more cool than his brothers 😂 Author Kristin Lee has pulled together some of the mini-tropes I love best and if you enjoy the gamer, workplace, sports, billionaire streamlined within a plot of neurodiversity, statistics and secret identities, then GLITCHED is for you. It deserves so many more than a measly 5-quietly-and-emotionally-romantic-Stars, but that’s the maximum! 🩶🎮💙✦

Maci threw another crumpled attempt to writing a letter to her penpal into the trash. She has been trying to write a letter to Glitch for three months, but she couldn't seem to find the words. How do you say goodbye to someone who has been a major part of your life for ten years?

But, that was the thing that was bothering her. They had never met. He could walk past her on the street and she would never know. All she knew him by was his gamer name Glitch and she was Rune.
She needed to move on with her life and not depend on something that would never happen. Especially now that her dream had come true. She finally got an interview with Synatrix after three previous rejections.
Synatrix, the largest gaming company in the world, started in a teenager's bedroom. Now a billion-dollar empire.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book has its own HEA, but these books are meant to be read in order as it revolves around the O'Ryan family. We meet Witt growing up through his older siblings' stories as he hid in the background. His father and brothers are football giants, but Witt takes on the sporting world in his own way.
Witt grew up in a large family full of noise and chaos. All he wanted was quiet. So where his brothers attacked the gridiron, he was quietly building a gaming system in his bedroom as he escaped their chaos in his room full of quiet and order.
Maci sometimes felt left outside her family. Her older sister plays professional soccer and her brother is making his name in baseball. Her life has been dragged to one sporting event after another as their parents cheered them on. Never once had they watched her play in an online tournament. She wish that they had given her as much support in her interests.
This book is action-packed and full of surprises as we finally get a peek into Witt's world. He has always be the quiet brother who tried to watch from the fringes despite his family wanting him in the middle of the chaos. A famous family, but Witt manages to outshadow them all by starting a billion dollar gaming empire in his bedroom.
I love all the books in this series, but we always knew that Witt's book would be special. The baby brother. The brother who always went inside himself when they discussed their mother. The brother who felt guilty that she was no longer there even though his birth had nothing to do with her death. This book will make you smile, make you laugh, make you cry, make you wonder when the hidden elephant in the room will appear.

Imagine being a pen pal for 10 years and never knowing that person's real name or the sound of their voice. That is Glitch and Rune two people impossibly drawn together over time through letters and a shared passion for gaming and its community.
Real life however, is complicated and when a friend encourages Maci to apply for a job with the largest gaming/tech company she takes the chance. What she and her boss don’t know is that Maci and Witt are Glitch and Rune.
I really enjoyed the premise of this book and the way that Kristin handles Witt's neurodivergence. Maci brings her chaos and sharp mind into his world and turns his well ordered life upside down in the best way.
I close my eyes briefly. Because Dara didn't just put someone in my penthouse. She put someone in my penthouse who owns decorative mugs.
This is how empires collapse.
This was a really wonderful addition to this sports series without making it about an athletic sport, but instead focuses on the differences in an individual family. There is value, empathy, understanding and love in this book and I loved their family dynamic. Perfection comes in many forms and Witt never made Maci feel less than perfect. In fact, they were perfect for each other. They understand each other in a way that is honest and well written by Kristin.
"I’m not looking for perfection." His voice is barely above a whisper. "I’m looking at perfect for me."
I was waiting for the inevitable, when they find out who they are to each other. When the real identities get revealed, I was sure there was going to be some heartbreak. Instead, Kristin gives us mature and heartfelt love that is worth staying up turning pages to get to just the next chapter. Overall, this is a great read and I can’t wait for the next one.

Beyond the Synopsis…
Those O’Ryans really do know how to do romance, and with Glitched Play, the fourth book in Kristin Lee’s The O’Ryan Family Series, we get another romance that takes a familiar trope and gives it a little something different.
The synopsis might tell you there’s a secret identity, a billionaire tech king and an esports backdrop, but don’t be so sure it tells you everything…
Because Witt is about to meet his match in Maci.
Our billionaire tech king may have his work and private life perfectly under control, but Maci is about to turn both of them upside down — and in the very best possible way.
I loved the esports setting. It gave this story a fresh sports-romance feel, while the secret-identity element added that delicious layer of uncertainty. We may have read secret identities before, but Kristin Lee puts her own spin on it, particularly as Witt and Maci spend more time together.
And that’s where things really start to heat up.
The more time they spend together, the more they feel as though they already know each other. The attraction builds, the chemistry gets hotter and what starts as something neither of them quite expects becomes increasingly difficult to ignore.
But what I particularly enjoyed was that feeling of knowing there is more beneath the surface.
You think you have the measure of the story from the synopsis… but don’t be too sure.
Kristin Lee has once again taken the O’Ryan family and delivered something that feels fresh, while giving us the romance, chemistry, family connections and swoon-worthy moments we’ve come to expect from this series.
Glitched Play is another fun, sexy and intriguing addition to The O’Ryan Family Series — and those O’Ryans really do know how to deliver a romance. ❤️🔥

I loved the esports setting. It gave this story a fresh sports-romance feel, while the secret-identity element added that delicious layer of uncertainty. We may have read secret identities before, but Kristin Lee puts her own spin on it, particularly as Witt and Maci spend more time together.
And that’s where things really start to heat up.
The more time they spend together, the more they feel as though they already know each other. The attraction builds, the chemistry gets hotter and what starts as something neither of them quite expects becomes increasingly difficult to ignore.
But what I particularly enjoyed was that feeling of knowing there is more beneath the surface.
You think you have the measure of the story from the synopsis… but don’t be too sure.
Kristin Lee has once again taken the O’Ryan family and delivered something that feels fresh, while giving us the romance, chemistry, family connections and swoon-worthy moments we’ve come to expect from this series.

Glitch Play is Witt’s story, and it was so beautiful to read. It has gaming, anonymous pen pals, close proximity, workplace romance, and so much more.
The story follows Maci, who doesn’t feel fulfilled in her tech job because it isn’t something she is truly passionate about. When Chase encourages her to apply to Synatrix, she takes the chance—and she gets in.
Witt is the last of five siblings and the baby of the family. He is guarded, analytical, and someone who likes having everything planned out. When Maci joins his team and starts disrupting his carefully organized routine, he can’t understand why she affects him so much.
One thing that stood out to me was the family dynamic. This book truly shows that there is love at home. Witt’s family loves and supports him, and Maci’s family does the same. The way family love was portrayed was one of my favorite parts of the story.

If I could give this book 10 stars I’m not sure that would be enough.
Witt and Maci come from similar families with siblings involved in sports. While the O’Ryans recognize Witt’s success, Maci’s family doesn’t really understand her love of gaming.
Rune and Glitch gave each other support and built camaraderie while gaming together for ten years. Theirs was a special but secretive relationship so it was fascinating to see each of them grieving the loss of that friendship even as they were building a future in real life.
One of my favorite things about this book is getting inside Witt’s head and experiencing his viewpoint. Some of the best quotes come from him:
“I’m not looking for perfection. I’m looking at perfect for me.”
and
“You’ve helped me understand that being different doesn’t mean I don’t belong.”
I adore how Witt’s siblings support him and embrace Maci. In fact I wish I could join margarita Wednesdays - they sound so fun.
Maci is very much a modern career woman who develops ideas from her love of gaming and seeks a career related to her interests.

Both of them are incredibly intelligent, but Maci is more creative and a little more chaotic, while Witt is a total neat freak who needs everything organized and in its place. Their differences made their interactions so much fun, and the banter between them was so good!

The protagonists are Maci and Witt. And I can honestly say that it didn't disappoint me at all. On the contrary, both their relationship and the characters themselves evolved as the story unfolded.
Overall, all the characters—except for Maci's parents—were exactly what I wanted. Her parents, however, absolutely infuriated me with the way they treated her.
The plot was strong and had depth—so much so that it drew me deeper and deeper into the story. I felt like I was right there, too, alongside Maci and Witt.
Finally, the author's writing style had everything I was looking for: warmth, passion, intensity, enjoyment, and a powerful emotional climax.

I knew going in this was going to be a great read and it beat every expectation.
We have two relationships happening during the course of this book. We have the friendship between Rune and Glitch. These two connected online and are pen pals with each other. We see the deep bond of friendship they have and how they helped each other get through some trying times.
We also have the relationship between Maci and Witt. Witt is her boss and we see the chemistry there from day one. He's a bit more grumpy and stoic, while she is a bit more outgoing and sunny. They are opposites with some things, but their interests are quite similar. They both love the gaming world and I loved seeing Maci fully embrace her interests and do what she wanted with her life.
This was a perfect story seeing how all of these characters found their other half.

Glitched Play by Kristin Lee completely stole my heart. Witt and Maci’s story is so beautifully written, especially in the way their vulnerability, emotional connection, and shared history slowly bring them together. I loved watching them find their way to each other through everything they’ve experienced, and the emotional depth of their connection felt incredibly genuine. Kristin Lee captured their journey perfectly, creating a story that was heartfelt, captivating, and impossible not to fall completely into. This is easily my favorite in the O’Ryan Family Series! But the entire series as a whole has stolen a piece of my heart.

Witt O'Ryan... mmmmhmmmm yum, yum and more yum. Baby O'Ryan has been quietly building his billionaire tech business - he's always been a little different, he didn't go into pro sports like his brothers, but still, his business is sports adjacent. Maci was the perfect FMC for him, online and in real life, gah that secret identity friendship gave me all the feels. Geeks unite sums up this book pretty well, and when they discovered their history, everything clicked into place, emotional and well written. Love me an O'Ryan story - this family are goals! Ridiculously excited for the next one!!!

This book will tug at your heart strings in so many ways. I fell in love with the characters immediately and felt the pain of the predicaments they were facing. How do you end an on-line relationship when entering a new in-person relationship. It’s hard to forget the past when there hasn’t been closure.

The next O'Ryan is amazing. I loved, loved Witt's story. This man in no means was a glitch he was so much more. And of course Maci she was the perfect person for him. You put these two characters together and it's better perfection. This book is the perfect mix of heart, heat, romance and high stakes emotion. It is the best read. I really enjoyed this story. It's about two people who come from different worlds but share a strong connection. The characters are easy to like, and their chemistry is clear without needing anything fancy. The story is fun and engaging, with a good mix of work, dreams, and feelings. I have grown to love the O’Ryan family since Greyson and Sutton…I never imagined falling in love with so many wonderful characters. I loved Witt’s story and how Kristin Lee wrote/explained how his character fought and processed things. Maci is a doll and I loved her from the first chapter. Loved Witt and Maci's story. Both are smart, from great sport families and love gaming. I was cheering for them all through the story. Dara, Witt’s assistant is a riot. Maci was welcomed with open arms into the O'Ryan family. Maci's family is supportive also even though they don't understand gaming. Great story!!
