Sophie is finally starting to heal after the perfect summer with her boyfriend Kipton and his family. The thing though with Summer over, things are about to change again, and is Sophie strong enough to overcome all the obstacles that will be thrown her way, or will she return to her old ways of vomiting to keep control and release the pain? Sophie is starting back at College without Kipton, but at least she has his sister Cara and her boyfriend Drew as her roommates. Things though will start to threaten Sophie's wellbeing as her past and Kipton's comes back intending to threaten their hold on each other. Sophie's abusive stepfather Dean is back in town and dying of Cancer and then her ex-boyfriend Blaine who has already tried to kill her once is out of prison and on the rampage to get revenge as if he can't have Sophie, then he is about to make sure that nobody can even if that means killing her. If that wasn't enough of a dent in Kipton and Sophie's relationship, Kipton has discovered that his first love and heartbreak Alissa is at the same college as he is and dating his best friend Troy but she has made it adamant that she wants Kipton and Troy is her second-best option. With all these obstacles thrown in their footpaths, will Kipton and Sophie be able to prove to each other that their love is strong and that they are made for each other and what hurts them will only make their love and feelings for each other stronger? Find out in Weightless by Gia Riley - Book #2 in the Begin Again Duet. This is the perfect duet for those who love edgy NA reads set in a college environment as this is one of the earlier New Adult reads before the market got saturated in them and they slightly changed direction.

Like everyone else, I fell in love with Kipton and Sophie's story in Lighter. Sophie was beautiful but damaged, and Kipton was her gorgeous knight in shining armor. As they continue their story, the tables get turned a bit. I loved how Sophie got tougher, and Kipton showed his vulnerable side. Gia created a very real story. As in love as a couple may be, there isn't an easy ride off into the sunset. She made their journey realistic, and nail-biting as hell at times.

Well written with moments that melt your heart as well as get you hot and bothered, Weightless is the perfect conclusion to this must read series!

“I feel weightless when I’m with you–like I can do anything, go anywhere, and be anyone I want to be all because you love me”

Weightless is the conclusion to Sophie and Kipton’s story. It picks up right where Lighter left off. Sophie and Kipton just spent the most amazing summer together, just enjoying each others company and really getting to know one another. Now that the summer has come to an end, their relationship will face the biggest challenge so far. Kipton has finished school and will be working closer to his hometown. Sophie will be going back to school without Kipton, to finish her final year. Many obstacles will lie ahead for Kipton and Sophie. Their relationship will be tested in many ways. Is Kipton and Sophie’s relationship strong enough to survive? Will they ever be free from their pasts?

One of the things that I loved about Weightless was that we got to know more about Kipton. Kipton had a lot of obsticles to overcome. Not only was he dealing with a long distance relationship, which can be tough on anyone, but he also has to learn how to balance his career. You finally got to understand and see why Kipton behaved the way that he did in the past, especially when a part of his past comes to light. I really thought that Kipton’s character grew a lot since we first met him in Lighter. Sophie changed him. Being with Sophie showed him that he didn’t want to be the man that he used to be. He wanted to be a better man, someone that you could be proud of.

And Sophie….Boy did she ever come a long way!! I couldn’t help but feel proud of her. This poor girl. She’s gone through so much. I just wanted her to have some peace and happiness. But, Sophie is not the same girl that we first met. Yes, she still has trouble discussing things that bother her and doesn’t want to burden anyone. But, she has so much more strength. She’s determined to not let her past win anymore.

Weightless was a quick and easy read for me. I devoured Sophie and Kipton’s story. I couldn’t wait to read more and see how things would turn out. Sophie and Kipton took me on an such an incredible journey. My emotions are still all over the place. I loved watching their relationship grow and everything that the two of them had to go through. Weightless gave me everything that I was looking for and more. It had action, lots of drama, angst, steam, romance and some great twists and turns. The swoon factor was definitely kicked up a notch and I am left sitting here with a smile on my face.

The conclusion is as good as the start.

Sophia has fought to survive. Her eating disorder under control for now. Kip & Cara's family taking her in after her world exploded. Now she is out, recovering, and after a perfect summer with Kip , with Cara and her new family the pressure is about to build again.

Kip, graduated, has a new job at a school away from her. Will her fragile belief in love be able to survive.

When ghost of the past keep surfacing and Sophia is put in danger will Kip risk it all? give it all up? Will Sophia be strong enough to push thru? to survive? to not revert to past habits?

Will love survive?

I have become a Gia Riley fan due to this series my first by the author.

To say that this book was perfect is an understatement. From the moment I read Lighter, I knew I needed more. I begged for more. Weightless is so much MORE.

I related to Sophie in so many ways in Lighter. I was her. She was me. To read this continuation of her story was a beautiful experience. Gia gives us the perfect amount of angst, steaminess, and swoon-worthy moments.

Kipton. Oh my stars, Kipton. He is seriously the best BBF. He has flaws, but goodness they're always with the best intentions.

If you've read Lighter, do NOT hesitate buying Weightless. You've gotta read it. Got to! And if you haven't read Lighter, what are you waiting for??

Thank you, Gia. You made my heart happy.

Weightless by Gia Riley is about a young woman trying to hold onto love, hope, and healing as she faces long‑distance challenges, haunting secrets from her past, and the many pressures that threaten to pull her back into pain. It’s the second and final book of the Begin Again duet, a continuation of Sophie and Kipton’s fragile but powerful relationship after the “perfect summer,” as they try to forge a future together despite lingering ghosts.

From the first pages, I felt a quiet tension settle in a sense that things will never be entirely easy for Sophie, but that love and growth might still be possible. Gia Riley does not shy away from hard topics: Sophie’s past trauma, emotional scars, and the fear that old habits might repeat themselves. The strain of a long-distance relationship with Kipton, the reappearance of dangerous people from her history, and the shell of security she built during summer threatens to crack. What impressed me most was how Sophie changes not in leaps, but in small, fragile steps toward trust and self-worth. Watching her navigate pain, memories, hope, and love felt so lived‑in and real; I found myself rooting for her harder than I expected. And Kipton, flawed yet devoted grows too, showing vulnerability and a willingness to fight not just for love, but for healing.

If I had one gentle reservation, it’s that at times the weight of so many external pressures and secrets could feel heavy, sometimes the angst felt slightly overwhelming. But that heaviness also made the moments of softness and connection between Sophie and Kipton shine even brighter. Their relationship feels earned, messy, hopeful. And in a genre that often simplifies romance, this felt like a genuine portrait of love trying to survive trauma, time, and uncertainty.

Overall, I’d rate Weightless a 4/5. It moved me and reminded me that love isn’t a magic wand, but with support, courage, and faith in oneself it can become a healing force.

Yes, Yes YES!! When I heard that Gia Riley was going to continue the story that grabbed me by the heart in Lighter, I knew I had to read it. You need to read the first book before jumping into this one. If you don't, you will be lost on a few vital plot points. I fell in love with the beautiful mess that was Sophie and the calm, steadying presence that was Kipton. Weightless is told in a dual POV which really enhanced the story and made me feel the weight of all the things that went unsaid.

This book picks up shortly after Lighter ends and things in Sophie and Kipton land are good. They've found a great rhythm in their relationship and lives. But they're facing the challenge of long distance as Kipton beings his new job while Sophie finishes school. Sophie has already come a long way in her healing but she still has a way to go. I love her support system of Lynn, Drew, Kipton, Cara and her dad. Yes, her dad- they had started to work through some of the issues surrounding their budding relationship as well. I really would've liked to have seen more of the growth in that relationship because Coach Evans played a pretty big part in this book. Which brings me to one of my favorite things, she got back into her sport and it was on her own terms. I loved that she had found a safe outlet to put her fear, anxiety and frustration into besides always relying on others to be there to pick her up, especially since Kipton is working on building the next step of their future. He is such a strong leading male so seeing him so torn about splitting his time between work and Sophie just solidified how much he wanted it all with her.

However, with all of Sophie's progress, there are always things waiting to bring her back down. Both Kipton and Sophie are forced to face the past as it just won't leave them alone. I wasn't really expecting the darkish twist that this book took but I enjoyed it all the same. My heart was racing and I was holding my breath to see how it would all play out. All of the adversity had the potential to tear Kipton and Sophie apart, and while in the past it may have, here it didn't. But it did make Kipton act brashly. His heart was in the right place but for the wrong reasons. I completely understood his desperation to try and hold onto the one thing he could control. I loved how it made them examine their relationship together and separately. And how Sophie wasn't willing to put her dreams on hold or make herself unhappy for anyone, even Kipton, the love of her life.

Gia Riley's work keeps getting better and better with every title that she puts out. She absolutely nailed it with Weightless. She gave me a story with depth and meaning. The characters were perfectly flawed and beautiful in their humanness. She had my emotions all over the place. I went from happy to anxious and back to happy with a few other things thrown into the mix as well. The balance between of the inner turmoil and strength each character went through just proved how suited they were for one another. Oh, that little shocker in the epilogue was a perfect way to end the Sophie and Kipton saga.

This book is such a wonderful read! Lighter had been gripping and surreal, but beautiful. Weightless is still surreal, but hopeful and full of passion. The story begins during the summer after Kipton has graduated. Sophie is in her senior year and Kipton has accepted an offer to teach at another school...this means that they will be apart for longer than they ever imagined. Sophie understands that a relationship does have some rough patches and isn't rainbows and butterflies all of the time...but Kipton isn't ready to make that sacrifice yet. They decide that they will try to meet up on the weekends since Sophie, Cara and Drew have their own apartment for the semester and live off campus. When things spin out of control with Sophie and Kipton's past relationships coming back to stare them down, Kipton and Sophie might not be strong enough to endure the pain and hardships that come with it.

When reading this book, I really enjoy Cara and Drew so much! Both characters are fun and easy going, I really would love to read more about their connection. Kipton and Sophie's relationship had been wonderful over the summer, but the jealousy that they soon came to see was a little immature. I am sure that some relationships happen just that way, but I hoped that these emotions would be short-lived since it was a little annoying. The passion that both of these characters have for their future is incredible and I loved reading about the ambition and spark in gymnastics and athletic coaching. Sophie's father really played a strong and supportive role as well, which I did love. Family is important and the author made sure to emphasize that, no matter the cost. Another aspect about this story that I really enjoyed is that Sophie's heart is GOLD! She cares about the people in her life, even though the people from her past did not show her the respect and love that she deserved or wanted.

In my opinion, the story was a little predictable; however, it did not take away from the emotional turmoil or the way that the story developed in it's own unique way. I really enjoyed love that author is able to take real problems that people face on a daily basis and weave them into her stories. It makes reading them so much more complex, captivating, and hopeful. I rate this book with five stars since it held my attention throughout the entire story. I feel that this book is targeted to young adult readers who enjoy fiction and contemporary romance. I didn't have any trouble reading through the chapters since her words were very descriptive and easy to picture. The pace is steady; however, I do not recommend reading Weightless as a standalone. It would make a lot more sense to read Lighter which is book one, before heading into book two.

“…I know how important it is to live each day like it’s your last. I’m never guaranteed tomorrow, and for that reason alone, I realize I’m more alive than ever.”

Weightless, by author Gia Riley, is the second book in the Begin Again series and the conclusion to Sophie and Kipton’s story, that resulted in feelings of warmth and love.

“I see my life as the blessing that it is instead of the mistake that it always was.”

It is with great anticipation that we open the pages of Weightless to give some finality to the characters that we grew so fond of in Lighter. Told in first person, with dual points of view from both Sophie and Kipton, they return with many of the same quirks and personality traits, but we can see that they are maturing, and changes are taking place in their lives. There are new challenges we read about as the past tries to creep back into their lives.

“When I’m with him, I’m free. I breathe easier, and this world in a little brighter,”

As I turned the last pages of Weightless, I could tell you that I remained a Kipton fan. In Lighter, he was the ever-present good guy, fighting to help save Sophie, and allowing her to see her self-worth in spite of the past. Although there were some blip moments in Weightless, he remained this man. He made me laugh, scream, and pant.

“We all make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean I’m a mistake.”

Kipton always had my heart in both books in the Begin Again series. But, my connection to Sophie became even stronger as the story progressed. She evolved into more of a strong and confident character in the face of challenges, giving me the complex character development that I craved.

“It’s the people inside who make it a home. They don’t have to be your blood, but they have to have your heart.”

It was thrilling to see the return of some of the other characters from Lighter. They created the Begin Again family that will forever be present in my mind. Their caring, love, and support helped to shape both Sophie and Kipton. Their quick wit and saucy sides gave me many giggles. I am anxious to see if Author Gia Riley gives us more from these fantastic side characters, and look forward to more from her in the future.

“You and I, we’re forever.”

Ok So I admit I was horrified to read this story but of course I needed to know what else could possibly go on between Sophie and Kipton after their struggles in book 1 !! Just when we thought the two had a solid thing going they are now going to be dealing with not only a long distance relationship BUT Sophie's past is lurking around in worse ways than in book 1. Hang on tight because the rollercoaster has yet to stop , the only thing I can say is that Kipton and Sophie have grown much stronger and they may just beat this last hurdle and make it !! Will we get an HEA ??

Sophie has been through so much I honestly don't know how she is surviving. Thankfully she has the love of Kipton , her new found relationship with her dad and of course Kipton's family and Cara and Drew to keep her going. Regardless her doubt plagues her and leaving Kipton is not on the top of her list. She knows she can make it without him but after their amazing summer she does not want to !! With both of them hoping to be too busy to freak out while apart they start their journeys. Kipton has a great opportunity to not only teach in his hometown but also coach. He is on cloud nine except for the part about Sophie being hours away. When their lives start interfering and free time is slim , doubt rears its ugly head as does both their pasts. There is angst , heartache , annoying assumptions and so much more. You will be shocked and horrified and then you will be happy and excited. There is so much emotion going on and of course Cara and Drew keep it funny and know just when to shed some light !! I am glad I finished their story and very pleased with how it ended for them !!

This is the continuation and the final installment of Sophie & Kipton's story. In Lighter, we saw how they both fell inlove, how Kipton became the person that stands by Sophie through all the pain. In Weightless, we'll see how they would conqueror all the obstacles from their past that would go their way.

Sophie has been doing well, learning to control her purging, finally getting to experience what a normal family feels like as she spends summer with Kipton, Cara & their parents and of course, getting to know her father real well. She thought the only obstacle they will face is being apart after summer. With Kipton starting on his new job and she to finish her senior year. Little did they know that both their past will haunt them.

Kipton has always been worrying too much for Sophie. His fears that she will easily go to her old way of facing her fears by purging. Once their past has caught up to them, Kipton feels so helpless being away from Sophie. Not being able to help her and be by her side kills him. Made him super protective of her, also making him do irrational decisions.

Love how their complications made them both grow up & be stronger. Facing their demons together, love really conquers all. Gia never fails to write an amazing story that will make you feel all the emotions and spinning the story into surprising turns. Making you love all the characters even more, not just Kipton & Sophie but even Cara & Drew and of course Sophie's dad. Now i'll be waiting for Cara & Drew's story.

A beautiful depiction of how someone can overcome there demons when they are given enough love & support and are truly ready to help themselves. Sophie does just that in Weightless as her & Kipton face having to have a long distance relationship while she's at school & he's off working a few hours away. While she's scared she'll lose him, he's scared she won't ask for help if she needs it and he won't be their to lean on if she falters with her recovery.

While this book was an emotional roller coaster, I admired the strength & growth shown in both Sophie & Kipton characters. Even though Kipton was swoon worthy in Lighter his character has grown & he is a strong & sexy hero that you can't help but love while reading this story. The love & support he shows Sophie is unconditional and inspiring.

It's one of those reads where you fall in love with all the characters, even the supporting ones because they're all just so likeable. A beautiful read full of love, devotion, strength and growth. Definitely need to read these books in order though to fully understand Sophie's struggles and how her relationship with Kipton developed. If you love sweet and loveable characters and an emotional & angst filled storyline then I recommend you get this duet now!!

Sophie is an amazing character. I absolutely love her story. At some time it's a heart wrenching story but it's still great. We meet Sophie in the first book in the Begin Again series, Lighter. You need to red Lighter first. Weightless continues the story.

Sophie has gone through so much in the first book, I wondered what else could be throw at her in book two. Wow, she does have stuff to deal with. Kipton has taken a great job but it means he and Sophie will be apart for a little bit. You know that's going to cause issues but then both their exes pop up to cause problems too. Kipton is madly in love with Sophie and really does prove that is this story. Both Sophie and Kipton goes through a lot of growth is this story. It's definitely a great read. I'm hoping that Cara, Sophie's friend and Kipton's sister gets a story of her own.

What I loved about this story the most was the growth of Sophie. The way she reacted in the first book to now was amazing. Kipton is still a strong man but to see him vulnerable and open up about things he kept secret. They truly are a beautiful couple and this book sends a beautiful message about loving yourself and seeing your dreams. Let nobody come in the way of that. Forgiveness is huge and a big part of life. I was so proud of Sophie and the woman she was. This is definitely a great series be sure to get the first book Lighter. And the family you will absolutely love the bond. Each character brings more to the book. You know how sometimes other characters besides the main ones can be forgettable that's not the case in this story. Oh wow... I'm completely speechless... I thought Lighter was good, but man Weightless was the icing on top of the cake! I fell more in love with one of my new favorite book boyfriends Kipton and admired Sophie's strength even more. Cara and Drew and their support and friendship through the whole series is what true friendship really is. Kipton and Sophie, what more can I say. What started out as a nightmare for Sophie just goes to show that no matter what life throws at you there is always good that comes out of it. I admire Sophie to no end and Kipton has one of the biggest hearts character wise I have ever read. This review is all over the place but I simply can't put into words or organize my thoughts on how amazing of a read this was. I LOVED it and all I can say is one click it now so you can see what I can't so perfectly put into words!

I received this arc for an honest review for Love Infinity Book Blog.
Weightless is the continuing story of Sophie and Kipton. In Lighter, we see how Sophie meets Cara and Kipton and finds love while struggling with her past. Weightless is a continuation of Sophie's journey, showing how love can help heal your past and leave you with a brighter future than you ever thought possible. Sophie and Kipton struggle with the long distance of their relationship and demons of Sophie's past while trying to build their future. I loved this book and all the emotions in it. Sophie and Kipton are amazing together. Gia Riley makes you feel connected to all the characters and their story as if you really know them. Read Lighter if you haven't and then define read Weightless.

Weightless leaves your heart exactly that, Weightless. I feel lighter now that I have finished the book knowing everything that Sophie Evans went through was worth the conclusion.

Sophie does have to endure an upbringing no one would wish anyone and she survives with honour, class and a lot of help and love from her boyfriend, Kipton Keller. We can all wish for a man in our lives like Kipton. Supportive and loving, with the respect any woman would swoon over, he is handsome on top of everything. How lucky is Sophie? Very.

This light romance is worth picking up when you need that good feel story.

Fantastic!!

If you were a fan of Lighter, you will absolutely love Weightless! Absolutely love Kipton and Sophie. They are the couple that fights for what they want in life and for each other. Nothing started off easy for Sophie in life and she still struggles to keep herself whole. But Kipton didn't take no for an answer and pushed his way into her life and heart whether she liked it or not. She needs to feel whole, to have a forever, unconditional love and family; something that lacked her whole life.

Will this book deliver that? What exactly makes her feel weightless?
Read and find out, you won't be disappointed.

Another amazing read by Gia Riley.

Sophie and Kipton face challenges that would cause any relationship to suffer. But they prove that with commitment, understanding and compromise, it will work.

They have both grown up so much since “Lighter” and Sophie has found her strength.
Kipton is as swoonworthy as ever and a lot of men can take a leaf out of his book about how to be a real man!

I adored this series and can recommend it to anyone looking for a series on love and never giving up.

FIVE STARS.

Gah!!! How do I write a review for a book that brought forth every emotion that just about everyone I know has gone through at one time or another? Gia is AMAZING!! She tackled touchy issues of abuse and eating disorders and depression in such a classy way and all the while writing a story that I would recommend to anyone! I loved seeing Kipton and Sophie's story continue. I definitely cannot wait for more from Gia (and maybe some more Kipton and Sophie? *wink wink*).

I cannot get enough of Sophie and Kipton! This book has a little bit of a suspense, thriller feel to it while still hitting the romance, and, keeping it true to Gia Riley form, discusses hard issues.

Weightless (Begin Again Duet Book 2) by Gia Riley is a contemporary, new adult romance and the full-length conclusion to Sophie and Kipton's story. It picks up right where Lighter left off.

Sophie and Kipton are in a good place after spending an amazing summer together. Now they face the challenges of a long distance relationship as Sophie returns to college for her senior year while Kipton accepts a job opportunity in his hometown. Their relationship is tested as obstacles arise causing fear and insecurities to surface. Both Sophie and Kipton are forced to deal with unrelenting pasts that invade their present.

This was a great continuation of Sophie and Kipton's love story. I really enjoyed seeing how much they grew and matured. Cara and Drew continued to add humor and lightness in just the right moments. Weightless is a gripping, emotional rollercoaster of romance, angst, and suspense with some shocking twists and turns. I highly enjoyed it.

3.5 stars (I really wish I could do that for real.) I am not a big lover of having to weave thru the characters mind rants over and over again. While I love all of the action and intrigue and even the angst I have to admit it got a little repetitive. I understand Sophie had tons of garbage that had been dumped on her and she had crap for parents even as an adult they cast her to the side. However once Kipton and Cara's family and her real father jumped in and gave her the love and support she deserved she still spent way too much time in her head and was too quick to assume the worst. I'm not saying it's a bad read I mean this is the kind of stuff we all love and pay for with this author so I don't know why it got to me this time. I guess at this point I may need to concede it is all me. The author gives us danger and action and all the things that we come to love about her work.

I considered not reading this book because of how I felt about Sophie, but I am so glad I did. Sophie found so much strength, and her happy ending. This was a good duet.
