Thank you, Jordan for the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This review does contain major and minor spoilers!!!!

This novella was a tad disappointing. I’ll be honest I adored Love on the Line and was very excited to read Home on the Line, but I do have some notes to share.

🤍 Pacing
I feel like the pacing was a tad rushed in this book. I know that novellas are shorter than the average novel, but I did feel like some parts were a little choppy. Sierra and Blake having sex just a few weeks after a miscarriage and him circling the date felt rushed and only continued the plot line of another pregnancy. Although I have never had a miscarriage, I have had very close friends who have and it was never a 2 weeks later let’s be intimate kind of thing. Everyone grieves differently, but I thought that was strange. Your body is still healing… Maybe I misread the timeline, but that gave me the ick. I will be honest.

🤍 Sierra and Blake’s relationship
One thing that I loved about this book was the family and friendships. Blake and Sierra had a good marriage and most of the time they were so cute to read about. I loved seeing the small moments in a marriage that isn’t always portrayed in Hollywood/media/books. That was lovely. Pastor Miller and Mallory were so sweet in this book. It made up for how bad Doug was in Love on the Line. lol

I did have a problem that Blake was the one pretty much always apologizing. There were definitely times when Sierra made either the exact same mistake or choice and that was glazed over. But if Blake did it she yelled and he went to cool down and then came back and apologized. I didn’t feel like this was realistic or anything to romanticize. It’s a red flag if you can’t say you’re sorry to your partner.

Speaking of red flags 🚩… Sierra’s texting Wren when Blake and her fought is a red flag. For being super religious or something I didn’t feel like she really turned to God like Wrenley did in book one. That was disappointing. Everyone has their own relationship with God, but it was only at big moments that both her and Blake were calling on Him. I would’ve liked to see a couples devotional scene or something sweet like that. Obviously this is personal opinion and preference.

🤍 The Miscarriage and Grief
This was done very well. I was a little scared to read this book because of how traumatic loss is, but this was written with dignity. I was pleasantly surprised by the gentleness of Blake and the rest of the side/minor characters. It felt realistic and empowering for Sierra (minus the 2 weeks thing. I will not let that go).

🤍 The Move
I wish we would have seen them in North Dakota more 🥹 We only got the Epilogue. ☹️ Rob, Joanna, and Westley seemed really sweet. I wish we got more scenes with them in it. Or saw Sierra and Blake unpacking and planning the nursery.

🤍 Overall Thoughts
I liked this book! I would definitely recommend that readers should read both books of this duet to get the full experience of the Warren/Miller story. I read this novella in 3 hours. Very easy to read.

Thank you again, Jordan Riley for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved this book! It was such an emotional read and beautifully showed the importance of fully trusting God, even in the hardest seasons.

I’m not usually a fan of marriage-in-crisis stories, but I really enjoyed this one. Watching Blake and Sierra walk through so many hard moments while still choosing to trust God was really powerful. Even when doors kept closing and nothing made sense, they continued to believe He was still working.

Their devotion to each other was another highlight for me. No matter what they faced, they stayed committed to working through it together, and that made their relationship feel so real and moving.

And I also loved getting to see Kayce and Wrenley again! Their relationship was just as sweet as ever, and those little moments with them were such a nice touch.

Such a beautiful story about faith, marriage, and trusting God through difficult seasons. It definitely had me tearing up and left me thinking about it long after I finished it 🤍

This book had so much emotional depth and connection between Sierra and Blake. Between going through grief, healing from loss, and navigating difficult family dynamics/relationships, Blake was so sweet and supportive to Sierra through it all. And, even when going through a lot emotionally, Sierra was still so determined to be a team through the financial/work changes Blake was going through. Neither of their situations were ideal, but they both persevered and chose to trust God through it all!

The only thing I didn’t like about this story was that it was too short!! I want more of them!! Please let there be a Novella of these two or something. I really hope to see more from them at the new house, and maybe some of the dynamic between Sierra and Joanna!

Anyway, it was such a sweet story that I truly loved so much!

I had the amazing honor of being an ARC reader for Home on the Line! This book totally redeemed Blake for me. I did not love him in Love on the Line, but the way he takes care of Sierra is beautiful! Sierra and Blake’s story is so raw and real. Jordan Riley did such a beautiful job at taking care of their story with compassion. Since I’ve read most of the Jennings family series already, I’ve seen a little bit of Sierra and Blake in those, but I’m so happy I got to read their story. Their love for one another and for the Lord is so strong and inspiring!

When Blake wrapped his arms around her from behind after they had an argument, it gave me butterflies in my stomach almost instantly. My heart sank for Sierra during her darkest moments. I appreciate how Jordan Riley shows through this book that when you experience hardships in life, it’s okay to feel upset with God during those times. And it’s okay to temporarily lose your trust in God, but eventually, when you come back to Him, you'll be restored. This book teaches me that following God’s plan might not always be easy, but it is always in your best interest to trust and follow it. I like how Blake and Sierra serve as an example that marriage requires open communication between partners. Sierra’s parents make me so mad because I can’t understand how they can treat their child that way. My favorite moment in this book was when Blake and Sierra danced together in the middle of a parking lot. Girl, I almost had a heart attack towards the end. I’m so sad that the On the Line series is over for me.

I’m so happy that we got to see more in the lives of Sierra and Blake. The trials of marriage and starting a family, but also the blessings of being together were so fun to read. This small town/cowboy/married couple/sequel novella was wonderful. Five stars

My thoughts:
Jordan does it again! Yet another book I loved of her’s.
I loved Blake and Sierra way more than I thought I would. I didn’t think I’d dislike them, I just didn’t think I’d relate to them as much.
I loved seeing their married life and their love, strength, and faith during all their trials.
I didn’t relate to them at first, but after a while I did. I don’t know what it’s like to be married and face the struggles of miscarriage, but I did relate to the moving across the country, trusting God to help make that decision, and also the family struggles Sierra had.
I cried multiple times during their move and their conversations with her family. I related so much and it made all the feelings I had feel validated.
I definitely recommend any and all books that Jordan writes!
