Finest Hour is the sixth book in Dr. Bradley's Survivalist series. It features seven full-page illustrations. (Series Order: Frontier Justice, Anarchy Rising, Judgment Day, Madness Rules, Battle Lines, Finest Hour, and Last Stand).

Description: An elite group of military assassins are preparing for an assault on the Greenbrier bunker, their mission to remove all traces of President Glass and her supporters. It is up to Deputy Marshal Mason Raines, his giant Irish wolfhound, Bowie, and a beautiful Mossad agent to stop them. But as they race across the country, new dangers threaten to disrupt their plans, including ravagers that terrorize the roadways in armored cars.

When Mason stops to search for munitions at an Army depot, he is recruited by a corps of young cadets to help recover their missing commandant. Little does he know that the depot has become the home for hundreds of bloodthirsty survivors. Pinned down and hopelessly outnumbered, Mason must put his skills and trusty Supergrade to the ultimate test.

Tanner and Samantha depart on a quest to put an end to President Pike's growing tyrannical rule. Along the way, they must confront the most violent of men, including a psychotic Delta Force soldier who has taken to skinning his victims, and a band of Mexican drug dealers that insist on young Samantha's help in recovering their lost payload. Only as they push into the nation's capital, does Samantha realize that Tanner plans to call upon her father's killer to help them survive the terror that fills the tunnels beneath the city.

Events have made me who I am, neither a hardcore survivalist nor an all-trusting soul. I am a Boy Scout in the truest sense of the word—dedicated to family, country, and good citizenship. As you may already know, an enabling element of those ideals is being prepared.

It took the horrific events of 9/11 to wake me from my routine complacency. In one single moment, I came to realize that our world is not as safe as we would all like to believe. We have no guarantee of safety in this world. Disasters occur on an almost daily basis all around the globe. Major events in recent years have included the devastating tsunamis striking Japan and the coast of Sumatra, the rash of tornadoes that swept across the U.S. in 2011, Hurricane Katrina, the deadly earthquake in Haiti, and the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico to name just a few.

I believe with all my heart that we have a duty to prepare our families for the dangers they face. I started my preparation by reading nearly every disaster preparedness book currently available. If you check Amazon, you will see that I am the #1 reviewer for many of these books. Even with all the material out there, I could not find a single book that offered a complete, well-reasoned approach to practical preparedness. As a NASA engineer, I took up the challenge by conducting very careful research – disecting fact from folklore. Three years and many thousands of dollars later, I have finally released a handbook that offers well-researched advice that can be put into practice in the real world by normal families.

I wrote this handbook for my own family, but I would be honored to share it with yours. If you are not fully satisfied with the Handbook to Practical Disaster Preparedness for the Family, send it back, and I’ll refund your money, no questions asked.

An amazing series. These books bring to mind a couple things. My love for the Louis L'Amour series. These are quite similar in the morality, good vs. evil that the westerns had. The second reminds me of following a rock star from their early performances to the final polished act. The first book was a sort of "diamond in the rough". Character development was there, but needed a bit of work. Pacing of the books was good and got better.

As the books progressed it seemed the author became more comfortable with adding to the character of his characters - all to the good. Unlike many series, these just got better and better. The banter between the characters, Tanner Raines and Sam, Mason Raines and Bowie (the dog) are sweet. Corny, but sweet and a guilty pleasure. Just loved these, much to my surprise - and reading pleasure.

6 books in and the characters continue to Appeal

Usually book series peter out as the author either repeats or completely alters the characters. However this series continues to draw you in as you still want to know what happens

Another great read by a great author.

Another great read by a great author and another just can't put down the book. The story continues with the heroes doing their best to win the day, right the wrongs perpetrated by the eval sick politicians.

Good Series

Moves fast-maybe light on detail, but what I might expect from a YA novel. I like the characters, even if the story crosses from realistic to fantastic at times.

The sixth book in this post-apocalyptic series masterfully concludes the divergent story of a father and son, bringing their character arcs to a satisfying peak. The well-developed protagonists face a mix of familiar yet intriguing villains, keeping the tension alive. As political conflicts reach a boiling point, the novel sets the stage brilliantly for the seventh installment. With engaging storytelling and consistent character growth, this book continues to captivate and proves the series remains a compelling and rewarding read.

I've read every book in the series and have grown to enjoy the characters as well as the metanarrative that drives one novel into the next. By now, the collection feels more like a favorite episodic television show than a disparate olio of individual stories. The characters remain largely the same, their struggles familiar, and yet at no point does the story feel repetitive or drawn out.

Finest Hour features each protagonist at his and her respective best: Mason remains steadfast in hits commitment to upholding the law, Tanner hellbent on protecting Samantha, and Sam quick with her wit even if she's unaware of what she's saying. Leila is a welcome addition to the fold and Bowie--arguably the fan favorite--is still along for the ride at his master's side.

The primary antagonists spend less time at the forefront in this novel but are no less threatening for it.

If you've read the previous quintet of novels then you know what to expect here: an enjoyable read that switches seamlessly between individual character arcs and maintains a steady level of entertainment.

I listened through the series again to get to book six; Finest Hour. An excellent series with wonderful characters and plenty of action throughout. A very good, well developed story. The series is basically split between two characters, father and son; three if you count Bowie the wolfhound :). Son; Deputy Marshal Mason Raines, is one of few remaining lawmen during the apocalypse. Father; Tanner, recently "released" convict is drawn into protecting a young girl. Father and Son, Ying and Yang. Their individual adventures comprise the series, eventually their paths cross of course. Excellent read.

This series just keeps the pedal all the way floored! The characters get more development and the action is steady and believable. Very enjoyable reading for all survival fiction fans. I'm ready for the finale, though I don't want it to end!

This series just keeps the action pedal floored! The characters are nicely developed and the scenarios are creative yet believable. I'm ready for the finale, but I'm sorry to be nearing the end.

4 stars for the story, -1 for ending in the middle of missions
I'm still enjoying this series, but despise books that leave you hanging. There's not even a book 7 on the list as an upcoming release. Had I known the author's tactics, I would have not started this series until it is complete. Every book should have an ending.

Finest Hour survivalist book 6

I can now only impatiently await the 7th book. The story is left with a huge cliffhanger as most of the stories have in the past. Again there is an introduction of new and richly built characters introduced into the storyline, always leaving you with a hope of finding out more about the bitterness that lead to these crossroads.

Great characters and story

I'm loving this series especially the relationship between Samantha and Tanner, they remind me of Arya and the Hound from Game of Thrones, although they grow much closer and I have gotten a lot more laughs from Samantha. She is so well written, she is funny but not in an annoying brat kind of way. I can't wait for the next one!

One of best future adventure

The world of the future may just not be like Star trek, but the opposite of any utopian future with promising technology, instead it could be what awaits us as we are shown in this great series.

Good book, not great.

Never been much of a reviewer. This book is on par with the previous books in the series. We'll see how it ends.
