Needed to keep diamond and cooly at arms length bc they were scheming and absolutely DID betray you. It’s wild to invite these people to your child’s birthday and still keep them as “friends”.
The writing was great. The inner dialogue of the MMC exhibited how a sociopath would think, realistically. The FMC continued to be unhinged and violent, which I enjoy, even though the throwing glass around got a little old.
But there isn't any grovel to be seen here.....he's emotionless and doesn't do anything outside of a couple of stiff "I'm sorry's". Honestly, more time is spent on his guilt tripping her for being a stripper and setting his car on fire than what he allowed to happen to her for years.
I don't like the theme that's often present in dark romances where the author makes the FMC feel guilt (usually for something she shouldn't even feel guilty for) to put the FMC on a more "equal" footing with the MMC and all of his sins. It doesn't work. The MMC's sins are so horrific there is no way her setting his deceased dad's car on fire even touches a sliver of what the MMC has put her through. It also makes the romance book less satisfying because there's no triumph/lick back for the FMC (just kowtowing), there's no grovel from the MMC (because she forgives him in that "we all messed up" way).
Now Indigo, or is it, Midnight? Girl, I never expected to find you out there doing THAT!! 👀 But I guess she did what she felt she needed to do to regain her freedom, work out her anger and pain, while hiding from Malachai. She had done well until that greedy boss of hers put her in a compromising situation that sent her running right back to Malachai's arms. 😮 Indigo is different now. She was always bratty, throwing and breaking things when she didn't get her way. However, now her anger is at fever pitch, and she is volatile, and more destructive. She can't seem to deal with what happened to her, and she wants to make sure that Malachi pays for it all.
Malachi turned into a raving lunatic when Indigo was gone. He is ecstatic that she is back, but furious at her for running in the first place. She allowed her anger to rule her and wouldn't even allow a conversation! She knows that I am different and don't operate and function in the same manner as "normal" people, but still didn't give me the benefit of the doubt? 😤 So, he does what Malachi does and keeps her captive until she remembers who she belongs to! These two got that crazy, toxic love on lock, cause what the hell? 🤯🤬
Indigo slowly realizes the mistakes that she made with Malachi. He really didn't understand where he went wrong with Sasha, and how he handled her. But what now? The secrets that they keep withholding, thinking they are protecting the other. Whew... ya'll get on my nerves!! 🤬
This whole thing with Cooly has me uncomfortable as hell. What is he up to? What is his real motive? How close do they need to keep him? 😮 Glad that Malachai and Indigo finally got some act right, cause they had my pressure up this whole read! 👀 Now Kael, what is up with you and Bria? Looking forward to the next installment. 👍🏿👍🏿
I was expecting a better second half. Indigo was completely unhinged. All her tantrums were tiring. She also accused Malachi of not dealing with Sasha but she is doing the same thing with Cooly. Why would she want to have a friendship with someone who wants her? She’s doing the same that Malachi did with Sasha, but worse as she is flirting whilst Malachi didn’t . At the end her brother killed her father, however how can she just let it go with her cousin, just because Malachi isn’t dead? She was complaining that Malachi didn’t basically worship her and do her bidding like a dog whilst she lived her life with no loyalty to him.
Malachai was exactly what I needed! The conclusion of Indigo and Malachai’s story is fantastic! This story is full of action starting on the first page and all the way to the last sentence of the epilogue. Shantel Davis gave us a story that dives deeper into the toxic, possessive and passionate relationship of Malachai and Indigo. Both of them are stubborn and set in their ways. I will say that Indigo had me so stressed. She was playing with fire and she knew it and she was making the worst choices. This is an absolute must read, and I cannot wait for the next entry.
Malachai: The Killer. The Midnight Ballerina. The Devotion - Book 5
Indigo (A.K.A. Midnight) loved her some Malachai but communicated no better than Mal. It was annoying that she kept doing things to Mal making her no better than Sasha! Seriously Indigo should have told Cooly to get out of her life when she caught them together and found out that he knew whose wife she was! Glad Indigo and Malachai finally had a baby … I am rooting for Malachai and the Baby; because Indigo is still playing with fire 🔥
This was everything And then some These characters wow, Malachai Lived up to his reputation, I have to say but it's getting to see him being humanized in sorts I should say and humbled was a bright spot lol Indigo AKA midnight I have to say there are some parts that to me she acted childish but I could understand where the grief played into her behavior But Cooly, yeah lol, that man dangerous😂 Overall great ending...
Malachi and Indigo!! Midnight and Cooly. Lord, this was heavy, deaths, revenge, sex, this was one of the best in the All Saints series. Shantel and her twisted genius brain are the best that ever happened to real Interracial romance thriller I can stomach, that actually feel so damn real. I can’t wait to read Kael and Bria’s story. Kudos Ms Davis, Kudos.
Ok. We get progress in this book. I was ready to smack Malachai because he was acting like only Midnight did something wrong. Her sins were not greater than his, they could be seen as equal though i didnt. He gets himself together only after tragedy strikes, and I expected that to play out differently so that was a nice plot twist. Now, I'm not sure I'm ready for drug addict crazy with thr next one, but this was another good one in the series.
I didn’t know if I was coming or going reading their dysfunctional relationship. This was an emotional ride of a roller coaster experience. For me at some point you have to let go and after reading books 1 & 2 , she has to know that Malac will snap at some point. Very interesting now I want Kael’s story.
The storyline was good. I felt for each character. The tension between Malacca and Indigo because of the past drew me in. The jealousy between Malacca and Coolly because of Indigo/Midnight, was hot and sexy. The twist with the brother was a great factor I didn't see coming.
What to say? I absolutely love this series. Book 2 did not disappoint in this particular story however I would’ve liked a better ending, but I suppose there’s room to develop a new book who knows. The storyline of the characters. I totally recommend to anyone interested and a good story about possessive husband and a head, strong woman.
All her books are a hit maybe I’m just one of those people who like these out of pocket romances and it makes me question my sanity but you will not be disappointed with this read a lot of slapping and threatening going on here with an HEA that’s suitable for this couple cause not all relationships are meant to look the same.
I almost didn’t read this book based off of the review that was left. I passed by the book a couple of times, but I’m glad I stopped and read it. This was a banger!! I don’t know why I expected anything less from Shantel!!
A truly great read. Must read or re-read the prequel first, then dive straight into this one. I have so many Shantel Davis book boyfriend's Mal is at the top for now. Good read.
Not gon lie midnight was starting to erkkk me. Sis you got even. you let that man know exactly how you felt and the karma he had to feel too. Yet you kept bringing it up. Any who malachai you crazy ass man im glad karma got you ass.
Malachai and Indingo are the most toxic in love couple ever. The fights ,the makeup session are out of this world and I’m here for it!There’s twists and turns in this story that have you on the edge of your seats but believe love wins in the end!
This a quick and fun read. I’m so invested that I want to know if Malachi ever gets his hearts desire to end Cooley. I want more of Indigo and Malachai, it was a beautiful love story. Give us more.
This is an awesome, wild, headspinning ending to Indigo and Malachi's story. Betrayal, lies, and off the wall, lethal, and dangerous relationships and friendships are exposed. This story proves that even the boogeyman gets got, too.
This second book even though good it was very violent. I do love dark romance but this one had a lot going on. Hut I’m still glad these two figured their way out.
I hate indigo with passion. This is the worst of it all. You had her with to male friends who kept telling her they want her. Disrespecting her marriage while she plays victim. I want my read back. She knew who Mal was he did not hide himself but indigo should have been killed. I'm about to reread priest so that i can feel better. This book was filled with hypocrisy she accused him of things with Sasha only to have indigo basically cheat on mal. Going in dates with a man having him feed you and kiss you yeah. I'm sorry this one was horrible
