This is a great read for ISTDP lovers. I particularly found helpful the chapters for low resistant, moderately resistant and high resistant clients. Abbass describes each category and includes detailed transcripts. He explains his reasoning for choosing a particular method and what he sees in his clients every second of that transcript. This micro analysis is very revealing and great for therapists attempting to learn his style.
Explains the methods very well. Clinical transcripts are so detailed that it is almost as good as sitting in the sessions with Abbass. I learned alot reading this and had breakthroughs with some patients when I applied what I learned.
